It was sarcasm. Banlists run by self-elected public members are already a terrible idea, I added 'punkbuster' for emphasis And why do you have such a boner for BattlEye? I think it's terrible, I can barely play ARMA 2 online for extended periods because my area has good ping but occasional massive spikes in packet loss for a few seconds. Constantly getting kicked is just frustrating, especially when I just wanna play with some friends on an empty public server
Arma 2 don't even have active BE (it's EOL) Arma 2: OA has BE but it's severely limited compared to Arma 3 one (feature wise dated) mp desync/packetloss and mission/scripting/server-quality isn't caused BattlEye unless server admin ignored the warning about script filters to be 'minimalistic' ;) note: script filter feature in BE is optional bonus for Arma and never was intended as almighty overthetop
Holy crap can you stop winking it's making me uncomfortable
2.5 is really fun, it's great to get some pvp going by killing security guys to get most wanted and then taking people on a merry chase though yela's belt

You know what would be dope? A star system orbiting around a black hole, complete with gravity lensing and all.
You know what would be dope? A star system orbiting around a black hole, complete with gravity lensing and all.
if they do anything like that I hope they at least take a unique artistic approach. If there's one thing I'm pretty tired of, it's everyone making exactly the same black hole from Interstellar [t]http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/03418/Black_hole_3418576b.jpg[/t]
You know what would be dope? A star system orbiting around a black hole, complete with gravity lensing and all.
Meet Tamsa. How the black hole will be rendered in-game is currently unknown, but CIG consults with astrophysicists and astronomers to get shit right. The starmap visualization of Tamsa is likely not intended to be representative of final in-game looks.

That's more or less what they look like IRL. I mean, obviously they aren't going to be able to put general relativity mechanics in the game due to it being an MMO, so the least they could do is make it look right.

That is pretty much exactly what they would look like IRL, and there's no major structural changes you could make that would change that. The halo is going to be darker on the rims and brighter on the inside, as material heats and flouresces due to immense speeds and gravitational forces (induced friction). The accretion disk is also going to warp over under and around the black hole in a mind-bending fashion too, due to the retardedly high amounts of gravitational lensing present. And near the even horizon itself, things go dark as the matter left is now emitting in the X-ray band and irradiating the shit out of everything.

"Those fucking idiots," he muttered while drumming his fingers on the cold metal desk in the hollowed asteroid. His palm smacked the bare click-switch on the desk, the springloaded button having long broken off, and that same perpetually-annoying chirpy tone announced his personal assistant was listening on desk comms. "Until further notice, employees Orison and Korro Bravin are to be forbidden from any activity in the corporation responsible for information security or secured comms. In fact, I'm relieving them of any current duties. Also, dock them their cut of that Caterpillar's haul, I'll authorize the commit in the spreadsheet." "Yes, sir," was the prompt reply, followed by the muted click of the connection terminating. Jono wheeled away from his desk, his old-fashioned mechanical chair creaking, and he stood up, eyeing the full bottle of Cathcart Widow 151 he'd been saving. "Fuckin' ells, those two. As soon as they're back to base I'm spacing them out the airlock myself."
:what: [editline]30th August 2016[/editline] Korro Bravin and Orison, please report to the next airlock
"Regtags validated and passengers visually confirmed, this Aurora LN is Korro's. Laser turrets stand down, you are permitted to disembark for storage procedures. Korro and Orison, station boss wants to chat with you inside before you go to the bar, he said to wait at the airlock. Docking control out."
All I can think of is "rawr x3 *nuzzles* how are you" type stuff RP has been ruined for me and I blame telegram groups
is that an m7a in your cargohold or are you just happy to see me ;)
If I don't catch someone ERPing in the back of my aurora while on a turnip run I am going to be HIGHLY disappointed.
Just how many people are you planning to try and stuff in your aurora?
Just how many people are you planning to try and stuff in your aurora?
As many as physically possible, and then some in a cargo crate.
oh thank god
What, the attitude ladder? Absolutely necessary for atmospheric flight, I'm not the least bit surprised.

...weapon heat/charge/ammo counters??
Oh? I was thinking health, dunno why. But yeah, it needs better placement, also to not make the text red on red background
...weapon heat/charge/ammo counters??
And not only available on an MFD hidden behind your left knee in the F7C cockpit, unlike in 2.5.
oh thank god
I wonder if it'd be useful to have an attitude ladder-like HUD element for space. My first thought would be a sort of sphere representing a celestial coordinate system.
