remember long ago they offered for a limited time your very own planet? No one got one.

When did they do that?
When did they do that?
At the start of the campaign four years ago. I started up an FPCORP pot to fund our own planet but we didn't get nearly enough.

Believe it or not, I don't remember. This is news to me, actually. I didn't pay attention to SC until I became a backer in 2014 (same day as CitizenCon, but I didn't know it was going on), and I haven't done some crazy comprehensive dig of everything all the way back, so there's a lot I actually don't know. Most of it is really outdated though so it doesn't show as much.
I had to look up who Wong the Pirate was and why he had everyone's Connies, for example. :v:
I just want my own tiny asteroid, where I can have a BBQ with my friends and nearby pirates.
I hope they add a set of playing cards, I want to play space poker and vent cheaters in to space

FPCORP's new income plan: pirate casinos that are just Caterpillars with guns and drugs and their own ideas on what is and is not legal. Each module segment is an empty cargo bay with tables set up. Cheating means being shot in the head and thrown out the side, as soon as the bay doors shut it's back to business as usual.
It's the equivalent of running an illegal offshore gambling boat, but you can Quantum Travel away from the cops.

just wait when CR plays Gwent and demands SC to have own space card game ;)
while archaic poker will be available only on primitive ports ;)
went cheaters, exploiters, trolls and griefers will become very interesting ...
definitely worthy role for passengers ...
if they go on your nerves you slap them to airlock and give them 60s to come up with good joke
who fails ... gets spaced
Ah fuck it, just port table top sim to Star Citizen, I want to play secret vanduul
I hope they add a set of playing cards, I want to play space poker and vent cheaters in to space
I could gamble my $1000 virtual space ships in high stakes poker
racing for account pinkslips
Wager your Golden Ticket for an Idris in a rigged dice game.

Your avatar just makes all of your posts better, 'cause it looks like the penguin is vigorously agreeing with everything you say.

could you find a link if it's not too much trouble, I wanted to give reference to it but don't know where it is anymore?

Well, we can still take over a planet if we really want to.

My plan is working!
those three sisters are triggering my spaceautism
Either I'm not grasping the concept he talked about and I'm stupid, or they made up some space phenomena to justify three planets going around the sun as if they were welded together in Garry's mod.
what triggers me more is the starwars style of themed planets, ie desert/ice/forest planets, except worse because instead of climates it's entire civilisations like 'business planet', 'navy planet', 'university planet'
I mean sure, if arc corp did all the work terraforming a planet, it makes sense they would become the de facto government there, but surely it would be a diverse place of industrial and commercial zones, not literally arc corp offices and factories making up the ENTIRE PLANET

alternatively: the only settlement/major hub is arccorp's manufacturing city and the only culture is "factory worker barracks life" and whatever's happening at the airport mall at the landing zone and the rest of the planet is barren

So, Microtech, then. As far as we know, it's an icy rock with occasional resource-extraction/manufacturing facilities and habitation domes. Given that Microtech is basically the 30th century's equivalent of an Apple-Google-Microsoft hybrid, it's no surprise that their planet is basically Foxconn-the-Planet.

University planet made me think of Futurama. But then I realised that Mars, the university planet, has become rather diverse over the series since it also has jungles, tensions with native peoples, livestock agriculture, and Mars Vegas.
I could've sworn older videos have said that habitable planets will have biomes that make sense - ice caps near the poles, followed by tundra, temperate forests and jungle as you get closer to the equator, deserts near the centre.
ArcCorp is specifically an ecumenopolis because that's what the lore says, but not every planet is going to be monobiome single-purpose clone stamp balls. I'm pretty sure I heard CIG say, in the past year since Pupil to Planet was revealed, that planets will have different biomes instead of being a single uniform biome everywhere.
I hope they've got something nice to show for Planet Procgen V2 regarding biomes.
Also, heads up, CIG's Citizencon event streaming is starting at 3pm PST on Sunday, and we should all hang out in the FPSC Discord together to watch the stream. I'll post a link in the thread right before the event, but it's also in the thread OP.
There is also CIG gameplay streaming on Friday and Saturday, starting at noon PST, and if people want to watch and basically MST3K the stream that'd be a good place for it.
When Star Marine is out and the matchmaking's unfucked enough to reliably work without 45 minutes of false starts, I want to go hard in promoting events and getting the thread organized for games. Up until now it's basically not really been that worth it because of matchmaking, stability, and netcode-performance issues, and everyone's kind of bored of Arena Commander, but with 2.6's AC refresh/rebalance and SM launch there should be a lot more value in regular events.

Sean Marine (loop it)
The little head movement the interviewer makes is something else.
Aw man, I forgot that was this weekend. I probably won't have power for a while with the hurricane coming through here. Here's hoping that'll be the biggest of my problems.

Stay safe mate.
At risk of sounding like a judgmental prick, that interviewer really needs to come to the realization that he's one of those men who can't wear long hair without looking awful.

As a Floridian, I wish you luck.
