are you all ready to cringe at yet another terrible gun design?????
if it's not grey bricks, it's full of greeble and pointless gadgets
THIS IS NOT A CONVENIENT OR INTUITIVE OR USEFUL MAGAZINE DESIGN

Now they're beginning the Star Marine segment. According to the schedule Techbot posted, 2.6 goes to Evocati PTU today, so they're probably playing the initial Evocati build or one right before it.

hmm, not sure how I feel about this. I guess I'm one of the few who wasn't super keen on just going back to the original concept art
[editline]19th November 2016[/editline]
for context this is what people want it to be

it looks a lot more rugged and beefy compared to the previous flyable iteration, which was very spread out and flimsy looking at its joints. May actually be worth trading back that bucc
Boo, no raffles. :v
Good stream though! Managed to pick up an x85 (dem curves) and a Herald -- which I didn't even know I wanted until I saw it in motion.

yeah I can get behind the stumpier look, especially if that means a more agile, combat capable ship.
but the actual individual forms are really gross to me ie. the shape of the cockpit and cargo area... the entire nacelles
also I don't think you can go back from the bucc because it's cheaper
Round 2 of Star Marine starting off real strong.
also I don't think you can go back from the bucc because it's cheaper
I've got a few extra bucks of credit still laying in there, and had the S&R variant before, won't be an issue for me. Could even do a blue if that becomes available
Here come the prerecorded segments.

I love the foregrip about 6 inches in front of the trigger. That would definitely be comfortable.
Other than that I can kind of understand that amount of overengineering on what appears to be a collapsing double-barreled sniper rifle.
I like the new Cutlass a lot more, though I think the turret looks really whimpy and I think the top gun mounts to the side of the cockpit are placed in a really ugly/silly place.
[editline]18th November 2016[/editline]
Also whoever designed the awful mess that is the Constellation apparently moved on to make awful mess guns, eww.
how the fuck did they make BOTH the javelin and the bengal in like 3 months when the idris was this super secret 2 year process?
don't tell me CIG has actually become efficient at ship building
I've got a few extra bucks of credit still laying in there, and had the S&R variant before, won't be an issue for me. Could even do a blue if that becomes available
oh the red is a direct swap isn't it, fair enough
collapsing double-barreled sniper rifle.
with a hand-loaded breech apparently. Is this supposed to be some extremely heavy hitting anti-vehicle rifle so they do this to limit the number of shots you can dump on a target?

I like the music, good mix between symphonic and ambiant.
Starts out like something out of the EVE soundtrack, glad they didn't go full Star Wars on the score which was one of my concerns.
tev race visual reveal on facebook just now

read the side of the breech, it's in (hexagonally rimmed for some reason???????? cig pls?????) 54r
[editline]18th November 2016[/editline]
gotta make that 1000+ year old cartridge ~FUTURISTIC~ amirite
[editline]18th November 2016[/editline]
also the back of the cartridge is completely flat and primerless lmao
guess it's rimfire???
Man that capital ship video blew away all the complaints I used to have about Star Citizen's "senseless greebles out the ass" aesthetic. Here's a post about this from 3 years ago when I was complaining about it. Probably not the only one, but it's the biggest one.
I love the new, much cleaner and readable visual style of the Idris, Bengal, and Javelin. They finally look like something that was designed and not just a bunch of unreadable shapes glued onto something because more stuff = better.

Although I still wish Star Citizen ship/station interiors were better lit. You can spend zillions of dollars building huge space ships but can't put in the money to adequately light them? Aside from the directly combat related rooms like weapons control rooms, ships aren't dark places. People have work to do.

I'm gonna miss my Cutlass' unnecessarily huge engines. :(
so the cutlass will fit a dragonfly now

welp that's all the persuasion I needed to trade back to it immediately
Could be electrically ignited? That far in the future I'd be surprised by anything else.
cased electronic firing systems still need a primer though
Could be electrically ignited? That far in the future I'd be surprised by anything else.
Anything that isn't using caseless, electrically detonated ammo in star citizen would be akin to using a muzzle loader in modern combat.
with a hand-loaded breech apparently. Is this supposed to be some extremely heavy hitting anti-vehicle rifle so they do this to limit the number of shots you can dump on a target?
It has two barrels though...
This gun is too stupid. It's even worse than the magic shotgun. Its 100 different parts of milled solid metal the size of an anti tank weapon, and it can fire TWO 7.62x54mm bullets, down seperate barrels, and then needs to be cycled by hand.
Also, that isn't the breach. It can't be because it doesn't line up with the barrels. This gun cannot function.

so i didn't imagine that when watching

counterpoint: flat fluorescent lighting is boring and unrealistic looking in a game environment, removing the character of the spaces for raw utility when there's no actual need to have everything perfectly blasted with white light. A real ship has a blatant need for finite use and repair of these spaces, seeing things clearly and being capable of performing a job to 100% of their capability. In SC the most action you'll need in the game is to walk up to a well labeled section of a wall and select giant contextual floating text for things like HACK and CANCEL.
though the engineering rooms of all the rooms need to not be dim blue voids. I can understand the big gravityball thing needing to look like a cool centerpiece but they're pushing the mood hard across that whole area of the ship
It's also worth noting that SC isn't trying to be a realistic space sim, it's trying to more be a living scifi movie. That means dramatic lighting conditions even if they violate all but four occupational safety standards doctrines ever.

I'm just tired of doubling my monitor's brightness every time I want to play. It's like they go through all the effort to make these complicated detailed models and then they're so dimly lit you can't even see them.
