I had it updated, left it overnight to download, and it was stuck when I woke up. I just paused and resumed the download for it to continue.
If that happens to me I'm going to be mad.
Holy shit i actually got the game loading now, finally not feeling that my $70 spent was a waste.
In case anyone's interested, the buy back system let's you gift the pledges.
So if anyone wanted an LTI Glaive or Sabre, I might be able to help with that. I got 2 Sabres and Glaive for buy backs. And 3 Avengers you can upgrade from.
Those 6 P-72s with LTI that I bought and then melted again are going to come in handy. :v:

What's your fix? In case anyone else has similar issues.
Since we can buy back shit now, it says we can't use store credit, is this for sure as you can enter it during checkout?
Still holding on to my wee Aurora LN. Grinding for better ships was always my favorite part of games like this, and if I don't have that progression forced I just lose interest too fast
So hey thanks to you guys for supporting development if everyone was like me CIG would have a lot less dosh

Im not sure which of them fixed it but I went to task manager, services and Open services, turned off Internet Connection sharing and Base Filtering Engine.

It only restores the original purchase item, though. So a P-72 upgraded to a Hornet and then upgraded to a Carrack, and then melted, would only allow buying back the P-72. The subsequent upgrades would be up to you to reapply if you wanted them (but you could probably unmelt them as well).
Currently it says no store credit, but that's being changed, apparently.
How will upgrades bought with UEC in store apply to the game when it comes out? If my 300i with the CF117 nosegun gets blown up, is the Badger lost, or does it have some sort of insurance?
Aftermarket equipment will be insured separately from hull insurance, and it will be substantially more expensive but we don't know by how much. Hull insurance will be cheap as dirt, remember, so upgrade insurance won't necessarily be extortion-grade expensive.

Neat. I currently own a Badger, and plan on buying 2x M3As and gimbal mounts for all the guns after trying the loadout with REC.
How do shields work? It seems like they take an eternity to regenerate once down, and I have no idea which power slot (2 or 3) they are assigned to on the 300i. Do certain weapons go through shields, and is the 300i unprotected from the sides/top/bottom since it only has front and rear emitters?

Ballistic weapons partially bypass shields, the idea being that because they have limited ammo they arent entirely nullified by the shield regen. I think the design of this was going to be modified soon. The deal with shield sections is that it covers the whole ship and its just divided up. On the 300i, the shields are a bit funky because the big wing area is all surrounded by "rear" shields, so you can take fire from the front and still take a lot of rear shield damage. Shields are the third power group (they should really label this properly).
If a ship only has two emitters, each covers a hemisphere and when the emitter goes down the entire hemisphere is exposed. A Connie's front emitter failing would only drop the front of the ship, not the sides/top/etc.
Shield balance is probably all sorts of fucked up right now.

I have literally never played the game except to confirm that my 580 and ancient i5 can't run it, but be careful with this thinking. Judging from the videos, the HUD needs to be WAY scaled down. You only need to learn HUD symbols and design once, but large HUDs take up large space forever.

I dont know what their eventual intentions are but "W E S" would make much more sense than "1 2 3"

it's 1-2-3 because in future the user can assign any component to any group
Okay so I know next to nothing about this game because I wanted to wait until it was at least close to release. Is it worth getting into at this point or is it still too early.
Am I the only one that instinctively thought the power groups would have been weapons-shields-engines?

If you expect persistence and a "real game" that saves progress, no, way too early still.

Can't take off in the Mustang Alpha without a crash on Olisar Station apparently.
Get in fine, sit in the seat, seat turns around aaaaaand there it goes.

4 times, deleting USER didn't work.
I was wondering something and figured you more seasoned Cult of Roberts members would know:
Has there been any talk of personal weapons being customizable and modular like many of the ships are? I mean, how can the fantasy of having a weird-ass custom beater of a spaceship be complete if you don't also have a weird-ass custom beater of a gun?
You'll be able to swap out parts so you can have a pistol with a tacticool 4x optical zoom and shit, yeah. Exactly how far this will extend is not known yet, as the fps stuff isn't as far along as the ship stuff.

Verify your install in the launcher in case something's fucked there. I'm not finding anything in the Issue Council (bugtracker) about this, so if it's a significant bug it's not happening to many people or has just started.

Then again searching "Mustang Alpha" brings up every goddamned "Alpha 2.0" report under the sun.
has chris talked about how he has a cult of followers ironically and unironically? is he like "hehehehe finally" or is he just weirded out by it?

Was doing that when you responded and that fixed it.
Too bad dogfighting is shit at ~18fps. Quantum Drive looks awesome.

I don't think he's ever talked about it.

Don't know what you mean tbh
I'm creeped out by his face in that poster

Nope, I did as well. It's what I'm used to from FreeSpace.
without elixwhitetail I wouln't have known that I can get star citizen for free with my GPU, and a special skin that's pretty cool.
