Am I crazy or does it take absolutely forever to fly to objectives in Crusader?

Are you using Quantum Travel? Press B to enter Quantum Drive, point at your destination, press middle mouse and hold on tight!

Yeah, almost a couple of seconds or so.
Oh I didn't know about that. I was using IFCSor whatever, going 760 m/s.
I'll use that when I get back home, then.
Also, where is the FPS stuff? I remember you guys were saying it was on a different station, but where is it?
Look for the Quantum destination for Security Port Kareah. Be warned: it's the designated fps station and is the only place to get the rifle. It's also where you go to clear your wanted level in the current builds.
Now turning comm arrays on and off matters, because crimes committed out of range of functioning arrays don't register.

After playing about an hour and a half's worth of open space, I've determined this:
-I love flying the Sabre
-3v1 Pirate dogfights are fun (even if the pirates are ass-backwards retarded at the moment)
-I need to be aware of my wingspan when flying passed targets
-I should replace Panthers with gimbals and badgers/bulldogs
-This game was money well spent.
[editline]11th March 2016[/editline]
And I just bought S2 Gimbals instead of S3, and I can't mount them.
Fuck.
I hope you bought the gimbals with REC instead of UEC. If you did get them with UEC, well, you'll have them to trade around in the PU at least.
There's now a free flight on for all ships, including the alien rares.
CitizenCon tickets are going up for sale soon. This year it's in LA.
As mentioned above, free fly with all flyable ships is live until the 20th.
Spent a couple of hours in 2.2.2 tonight flying wing with a group of three others. Much fun dogfighting in Sabres and Hornets.

She's gonna be fun to fly for sure. Is there any images of the UI for the scout?
Submissions are great so far, but we need more... MORE... MOAR!
I promise you: it'll be worth your effort, and this is your chance to contribute to an official CIG production. =)
I'm coming home later today from Seattle. I'm probably gonna be pretty tired, so tomorrow's a write-off, and I'm not entirely sure that my thermostat hasn't frozen up and caused the furnace to be cycling constantly for a day or four.
Assuming I don't come home to a burnt-down lump of cinders, who's up for party-joining with me on Sunday in afternoon/evening-ish time (as of CIG LA/Western USA timezone) for some Big Benny transport fun? I figure we could get some volunteers to help with experiments of pushing Benny out of a Freelancer's hold ... with said Freelancer pointed ass-down over a landing pad, juuust outside the artificial gravity field. With a crowd of suitguys standing beneath.
I legit want to submit to CIG a 90-second supercut of groups of guys just being crushed by Benny falling from above with no warning, along with possibly dudes falling with him (piling out of the 'lancer's hold with the machine). And set it to some inappropriately cheerful public domain/CC-license song.
If not Sunday, later this week also works. Times for Euros and Downunderers are also options, although I can't promise to personally be there for all times.

Depends on what time but i'm up for that.

Not yet. It's using an alien "control surface" (in terms of in-game interfaces for your character to touch) with the two orbs, but no UI info has leaked.
I have some RtV notes, but they're handwritten, and I'd rather not take two index cards covered front and back in scrawl that doesn't make sense about the "Xi'An Scout being ready" (specifically meaning moving towards flight-readiness, not being ready imminently) and stuff with me; that'll be a lot less entertaining in a federal building with a customs officer...so it'll have to wait until after I nap, before I head out.
[editline]like now[/editline]
- Free-fly is until the 20th and is for all ships. Once again it's open to the public, all registered accounts.
- More Loremakers segments with the writing team
- Subscriber flair is live, beginning of new space plant series
- The physical starmap should be shipping in the next week or so for people who preordered it. The leftover stock will go on sale eventually
- Maps will ship rolled, despite originally being advertised as shipping folded, by popular demand
- CR gets the distribution rights to the WC movie today (Saturday), the movie's 17th anniversary
- Lando gets up to show off the set, shows Hennessey in the booth, who immediately gets up and starts yelling at Lando to turn his mic pack on
-The fan cave has the D from the original CIG sign from the first LA office site, cue The D jokes
- Vorlick, 100% deadpan: "This is the last time I give Jared the camcorder."
- Concierge flair announcement in the next two weeks or so
- This Gamescom, instead of a big keynote with 1-3 big demos, they're just going to bring the latest build to the floor and demo it. This means production on the main build goes full steam the whole time rather than three weeks before the event being dedicated to a single-use demo build
- Ship updates: Cat undergoing some interior and design work in LA; Bengal being worked on in the UK; Reliant in progress in LA; Starfarer is wrapping up in the UK; the Crucible is in the works somewhere; the Xi'An Scout is progressing towards flight-ready in LA; the Herald is in Austin's hands right now; UK also working on the Idris and the Vanduul fleet
- The downgrade system is on the backburner at Turbulent
- Ben and Lando want to make Dave Haddock snap on camera; "He's polite to the point of almost being Canadian."
- The Argo repair ship is almost hangar-ready, but it's for SQ42 and not for pledge
- CIG isn't going to offer preorders on the HOTAS until they've gotten to try out the production prototype
- More patches are coming, for the different ship manufacturers, subscriber-exclusive ones included
- No formal event at PAX East, some devs may go on their own
- New guys at LA introed, Shane and Justin
- Forrest and Sean Tracy come and corral the new guys just as the segment is finishing
- Ben nerds out over a WC1 continuity error and the stream fades out to black with him (ironically) babbling about WC
WHY
Why is there another Live patch? I can't keep up with this..

yet another glaring reminder that this shit needs AA bad
First screenshot is horrible, but the other 2 aren't nearly as bad.
Doesn't the game have SMAA in it already?
Because Cryengine. Making it look pretty is later on the to-do. The vanilla cryengine AA is ick.
Wow, I hate the Sabre and Vanguard's loadouts.
CGI, please for the love of god stop mixing gimbals and fixed mounts unless you give us autotracking gimbals. And make it so I don't need a 4K monitor and a magnifying glass to actually read the diegetic HUD.
While I wouldn't say that I HATE those stock loadouts (I can still tear shit up pretty good with them,) I do agree with all of your points. I've been flying with the gimbals locked and just make judicious use of decouple instead.
For some reason I always time out when I fly to Covalex Shipping despite actively making inputs.
Used this week to give the glaive a try, when the game comes out I need this
How people play this game? I tried the free game until 20, and getting more than 25 fps is a miracle, even on low. I have 290x and i5 4590, and according to benchmarks I should get more like 50-60. But probably in space alone, because on station I get 25 fps, as low as 15fps.

unoptimized alpha builds will do that
I'd suggest cranking the graphics settings down, you won't see much change but it'll do a lot to quell a lot of slowdown due to particles and clutter that needs to be LOD'd

I just said its on low, anything else I could do would be playing on 800x400 resolution.
And this is beyond unoptimized alpha, I played plenty, and this is bad for some reason. It actually got worse, I played for free last time, and I got like, 30-20 fps, now its 25-15 fps. Shouldn't it get better or something? For now its only worse beyond playable.
I guess I will wait until well into after release, if game will be done, this is mess for now.
PS. Gif I did for lolz when I tested game https://gfycat.com/WealthyEcstaticDuckling
The Port Olisar map is CPU-bottlenecked. You'll also get some performance gains by turning a few settings down/off with this additional config, since right now the config options in-game are minimal and the devs have acknowledged that they'll be adding to it later. The loss in graphical fidelity is minimal but should improve performance.
The file needs to be named user.cfg and it needs to live in (SC install path)\Public\

Also, you should try Arena Commander, should run pretty smooth on the same settings that give you 15fps in Port Olisar.
Saying that 1.0 means game is complete is game development racism, check your game versions privilege.
Bitching about alpha performance and then saying that is just funny, but anyway. If you can get over yourself for five minutes and try the actual content without worrying that you aren't getting 60fps@1080p, you might find that the content in SC alpha 2.2 is worth playing (at least once - the scripted content's replayability is not high).

That's odd. I run an i5 4690k (at 4ghz) with a regular R290 and my performance is generally good. In fact I was just noticing a reduction of cpu usage coupled with smoother frames in 2.2.2 compared to earlier builds. I am using an older Radeon driver (15.11 iirc.) I did get some slight rubberbanding during a dogfight, but it was only momentary and suspect that was fully server-related.

One, Alpha. Two, you just defended the awful state Elite was in upon its actual commercial release in that thread.
Performance was slightly better in Alpha 2.1 because the player limit and ship limit on servers was 16. It is now 24. That may not seem like a big deal, but ships in Star Citizen have very complex models, animations and damage states. They'll keep raising that player limit and making optimization passes. What I can tell you is that performance right now is 10x better than the last time they experimented with 24 player servers. So great progress *is* being made. It's also important to remember, as Elix said, that you can have an incredible GPU and will still have poor performance unless your CPU and RAM are close to top of the line, too.
And in general I'd recommend waiting until release if you can't deal with Alpha bugs and poor optimization. Even I generally stay away from the Alpha in its current state. I'll hop on to test new features and submit reports to their bug tracker, but I can't really play it like a finished game yet, because it isn't.
what did they do to 2.2? crashes all the time, i can rarely get to a jump point before a crash or play for 5 minutes
Accidentally misclicked when trying to reply and rated you late, changed it to a heart.
Anyway, I only tried one SC game but it was pretty stable for me. Took part in a massive fugitive chase; he was in a Vanguard.
