Sombrora Appreciation Station did some digging around for the 3dconnexion thing I was talking about and it seems 3dx's official responses when asked over time have been pretty consistently "we're not doing shit, THEY should be the ones supporting US", and responses from anybody in the star citizen scene being "well they made the the cyberman 6DOF controller back in the day and that was a niche product and flopped, why should they try again now?". [t]http://spacemice.org/gallery/not/thumbs/Cyberman2_small.jpg[/t] wow why wasn't that a hit in the 1997 PC gaming scene Like no shit, the cyberman (I had one!) and cyberman 2 were even more dev-locked due to how things worked back in the day, they only made a couple games at most that were compatible. The difference being now, they already fucking sell the things en masse, it's a successful product; tweaking some drivers isn't taking a financial risk on entering a niche market, it's updating your damn drivers Judging from the hackey things the community has done to enable the spacemouse in games, it seems all they'd really need to do is just have a mode for the driver to officially just output joy axes like I thought. Turn it on you dinguses
All I want from Star Citizen is a screen in my cockpit that I can stream video to so I can pretend I'm watching Space Breaking Bad while hauling goods around.
holy shit, Saitek just put out an X56 Rhino, built for space sims. Seems the additional gimmick besides the paint job is adding several analog sticks for finer secondary controls of things like gimbals or finite decoupled thruster use or whathaveyou Amazon pre-orders, $250, release May30th http://www.saitek.com/uk/prod/x56.html
The place they put the stick on the throttle is not a comfortable position. It's where the mouse nipple is right now, and that thing is utterly useless because it doesn't work, and even it did, it's in such an awkward place you'd never want to actually use it. This only further affirms my theory that Saitek is run by aliens with no understanding of human physiology. They should have put it on the back of the throttle so that you have one finger dedicated to it and nothing else. As it is now, you lose access to 2 hats, 3 buttons, and 2 rotaries, whenever you're using it. Which considering most people are going to use it to strafe means that you're losing a hell of a lot of buttons any time you're in combat. If nothing else, they should have at least put it where the top throttle hat is, as that's the most comfortable hat to continuously use. The analog stick on the stick is pretty stupid as well. When you're using it, you lose access to 3 hats and 1 button. What would you even bind that to that's worth losing the ability to do almost anything relevant to fighting? The only silver lining I see is that the thumbstick on the stick could be used as an extra hat switch. On a real F-16 stick (which X-55 is loosely based off of), that's where the CMS hat goes. The lack of a real CMS hat is something that bugs me about the X-55 so it'd be nice to actually have one.
All I want from Star Citizen is a screen in my cockpit that I can stream video to so I can pretend I'm watching Space Breaking Bad while hauling goods around.
wishful thinking and decent logic both say they should make it so you can dump in live stream or youtube URLs and actually watch content. That doesn't dictate that it's possible or they actually want to do that, but hey With this kind of system, TVs at public establishments could then simply be locked into a live stream with a healthy selection of pre-recorded nonsense intermixed with ship commercials, then they literally "interrupt the scheduled programming with breaking news" and do live/pre-recorded announcements, or even redirect the feed to other livestreams to play live coverage from legit streamers who do podcasts or live event stuff from their newsvan and the like it'd be a great way to get the community active and involved in watching real content creators do their thing, and to allow people to just pass the time how they want when they're inbetween points in their ship. Imagine starting a QD jump across a system (I hear that could take up to 20+ minutes end-to-end in some systems), getting up and hanging out with the crew, tending to a few systems, and sitting down to watch some dumb videos with the friends aboard. Imagine mid-video your whole ship lurches, the lights flicker, the feed cuts. There's pirates harassing you and you're steamed that you didn't get to finish the video. War were declared
Freelancer's got (part of) its own HUD on PTU 2.3.1b. [t]https://i.imgur.com/9QLiB29.jpg[/t] Via Reddit, there are still some pirate AI spawning bugs in the PTU, but not >100 this time. Laggy, but not crashy. [t]https://i.imgur.com/pSP2eHs.jpg[/t]

War were declared
It would be funny if they did that but used some of the livestreams/videos from development to create an in-universe "Scam Citizen". Make them seem like it's for a game that's being made in-universe, but it's going poorly and probably going to fail like several people think SC will.
While I've still got a great deal of faith in the project, I worry at times that it may end up very much like another title that aimed too high and bit off way more than it could chew: Jurassic Park Trespasser.
non-april fools news: store credit buyback tokens have been reset [editline]1st April 2016[/editline] also, JP rerun on Olisar [editline]1st April 2016[/editline] also, rip title I guess Bradyns is filling dai's void now????
bradyns can fill my void any day also considering selling/trading off my LTI Xi'an, have a friend interested in it but he can't front the full funds. I love the maneuverability because I'm all about decoupled strafing like a madman but I just can't get over the fact it's tall and broad. It'd be a beast in open space but I naturally love using cover and keep tapping random things and blowing the fuck up despite thinking I'm more than far enough away from the obstacle I'll be a bit better in the reliant since your view is in the center instead of down at one end (and also I won't be trying to pull dumb combat maneuvers in a news van)
OP's been spiffed up to match the title for today, too. Also, CIG put up this design post: Intergalactic Food Delivery. Fuck yes. :v: [t]https://robertsspaceindustries.com/media/8bnghisiau7par/source/IMG_Banner.jpg[/t] Yes Yes
In order to best support the immersive new Grubby Hands mechanics and our general change of direction, the following changes will be made to Star Citizen’s concepts: - The MISC Starfarer can now carry up to 50,000 STU (Standard Tasty Units) of marinara. - Squadron 42 is henceforth renamed Squadron 57, as a nod to the many varieties of sauces available to the player during the campaign. - The Drake Herald’s internal computer core has been replaced with a traveling oven capable of keeping pizzas hot and fresh in the deepest space (except stuffed crust, which gets weird when you reheat it.) - The M50 is now the Mmmmmm50, and we’re lovin’ it. - The Vanduul Blade, Scythe and Glaive are just three parts of an extraordinary nine-piece Vanduul Cutlery Set, available for a limited time for just three monthly installments of $59.99, plus shipping and handling. At that price, are we insane? Stocks are limited and operators are standing by! - The Shubin Mining Station is now a Shubin-N-Out Burger restaurant. - Something funny with the Gladiator, I guess. - The Carrack is now a kind of salad. - A fresh slice ham counts as a pet. - Players will have the option of collecting all five of the Banu Mother Sauces, which can be harvested from the distinctive sauce-glands of a Banu hive mother. - The Retaliator remains unchanged, with the exception of being renamed the RetalEATor.
YES [t]https://robertsspaceindustries.com/media/7aup5wvm9jly3r/source/ScreenShot0008.jpg[/t] YES
ESTIMATED DELIVERY: [del]2944.[/del] [del]2945.[/del] 2946.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/L0NrfeX.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/6I2g3MG.png[/t] YESSSSSSS (obvious spoiler: clicking that on the page brings this up) :ok: I know it's a joke but for real I would pay $5 for that Big Bennys skin even if it was only for the MISC Reliant.
I'd pay $5 for that skin for anything (I need to put another $5 in my account for the $350 ships anyway so why not)

when can i upgrade the starfarer to support noodle soup refinery and vending. then i can finally be the space noodle soup person
when can i upgrade the starfarer to support noodle soup refinery and vending. then i can finally be the space noodle soup person
You must first have the noodle dream, and grind Big Benny's rep to "Noodle Master" rank. Only then are you blessed with the secret to ultimate flavour.

Rather than releasing the Big Bennys skins so everyone and their dog can buy a cheap Reliant for "hurr hurr stoopid ship skin lol", make it so it has a rare chance to spawn in ship traffic, like that seen in the current iteration of ArcCorp. Would just add a little to the atmosphere of living, breathing areas. I suppose you could then add a Big Bennys Greycat too...

In the main PU, like two years from now, I expect few people will still think Big Benny's Delivery Boy is the hottest of dank memes and will be sporting a cooler skin. I hope everyone saw #12, too:
Star Maruchan These noodles are still on the way, but for now you can enjoy their implementation in the Crusader system!
I also posted the April Fools stuff here and I hope it doesn't turn into another shit thread that gets derailed until people get banned and threadlock. I don't intend on responding to anyone who shitposts this time around, and it's kind of dumb considering how much CIG make fun of themselves here. And please don't take up my place and derail it into the ground for me either, let's see if we can have a civil thread out in the wilds. :v:
wow, the K-A really improved from PTU flew circles around a Connie and forced him into blackout at which point I just leisurely sat behind him and picked off his nacelles

so after the controller discussion the other day, I did some more tinkering. SOMEHOW, after having installed logitech's software and getting that 3d extreme pro whatever working, my extremely old cyborg graphite decided to actually get recognized by the computer and install its own drivers. Truly a christmas miracle I decided to try out dual stick flying, and man it felt like a dream. The big problem I had with it was that my cyborg didn't have a twist axis, and only has 3 buttons (all on the thumb, one of which popped off and is just a nub that's hard to press) and a wonky loose hatswitch, no wrist rest, and the throttle thinger seemed to be putting out some jittery numbers because half the time when I tried to bind stuff it thought the throttle axis was the input being used so, I decided I should probably look for a decent left-hand-accessible joystick that was less than a decade old. A LOT of sticks claim to be comfy and ambidextrous, even that extreme 3d pro logitech I just got, but if you have a joystick with an ergonomic grip you should try grabbing it with your left hand so you know just how much of a fucking lie that is. [t]http://www.hardwareheaven.com/reviewimages/xfx-6950-1gb/logitech-extreme-3d-pro_rear.jpg[/t] I wouldn't want to play more than a few minutes with that huge nub digging into the palm-side of your knuckle bones, my left middle finger hurts thinking about it SO after digging around a bunch, I've found a lot of SC dual stickers raving about the t16000m sticks for both hands, which was confusing at first because all the photos online seem to point to the same problem with the ergonomic design giving your middle finger the middle finger, but a bit more digging showed it comes with hardware to swap around and make it a left hand stick. The setup looks so good that I decided I'll return the logitech and just go the full mile with a pair of the nice buggers this is a nice setup, I'd probably swap a few things around (notably I'd like left stick left/right to be roll, with twist being side strafe and right stick twist being vertical strafe) [t]http://i.imgur.com/uhZlJvO.png[/t]
