medium outlaw, minus the awful helmet? (55 seconds in) dude at the start of this wears it as well
Nooo, no! My edit was far too late! I had intended to suggest the one on the RIGHT. I have failed!
yeah I saw the comment and started editing but I'll just split it off into a reply now people were guessing the drake dragonfly might be a mech suit but it's sounding more like a motorcycle as they talk about design decisions, namely the choice to give it handlebars positioned like a crotch rocket, with the other option having been more of a 'chopper' kind of deal but raised arms would be an unnecessary view obstruction, and we all love those They still plan on some form of powersuits, might be something we hear more of when they start working out the Redeemer since they had this idea before about it being a shock trooper insertion vehicle. It has a tiny cargo bay on the second floor with a crane that runs under the tail, which would be big enough to carry two suits or a small vehicle and set them down on the landing site

As ideal and functional as they may be, a traditional EVA suit is enough to satisfy me.

Who you were 10 years ago does not reflect who you are today, people change, refusing to give people second chances is retarded.
Good riddance, Derek. You won't be missed.
This wasn't Derek, it was somebody on SA called Phi230.
Oh this website is one of those Have fun being retards hiding from the liberal boogeymen! Get them women and minorities out of my video games! Darn essjaydubyas!
Thats a yes then? I love seeing someone just leap off the deep end because we don't take shitty old jokes they want to crucify someone for seriously. edit: i googled phi230 out of curiosity and the first SA result (google has it cached) is him making at least 6 posts in a row yelling about liberal boogeymen and conservative anti-sjw philosophy. because apparantly anyone who doesnt like the extreme left is the extreme far right. I don't want to push this topic any more away from spaceships though.
I wonder how planets -> ships -> eva transition in Space engineers feels so smooth and seamless. It's ofcourse not as detailed and not as large scale as Star citizen, but i was still surprised how well everything worked in it. It's also not complete yet, but looks fairly promising already. Hopefully Star citizen will have as polished (unnoticeable) transitions as well. So far i saw Station/EVA being improved, but i wonder if they will be able to make smooth interaction with ships in space.
So I grabbed Star Citizen for the free week So how do you find a juicy ship to fly?
So I grabbed Star Citizen for the free week So how do you find a juicy ship to fly?
From the main menu you have three options Universe: the open multiplayer sandbox area with some neat stuff to do Electronic Access: fast join multiplayer or singleplayer matches in various gamemodes Hangar: you can load into the hangar and you'll see the various ships you currently have access to for the free weekend, if you want to figure out what looks fun and get a better sense of scale to start with. I recommend checking out the hangar first. F interacts with things, and if you climb into a cockpit you need to hit CTRL+F to get out of the seat. To get used to flying, you'll go to Electronic Access and choose the solo option 'drone sim', and it should have the free flight option selected for you already. You pick a ship from the dropdown and it'll load you in. When you're feeling confident in your flight skills, you can try loading into Vanduul Swarm instead of free flight, you get some NPC wingmen and fight waves of enemy ships If you want to take a break from flying, the universe has two areas to load into: ArcCorp (Stanton), and Port Olisar (Crusader). ArcCorp is a planetside location with a handful of areas to walk around, some basic things built into your AR overlay utility (which is on by default now) that will show how shopping might be done (something we'll see more info on probably within this week) If you feel confident in your flying and want to start exploring, load into Port Olisar. You'll wake up in a tiny hotel room, can walk down to a console in the building to summon a ship, then it'll tell you what pad it's on. follow the signs from there. Hit F9 to open your 'mobiglass' menu, select the scheduler (biggest box), and you can tick tasks you want to do. I might suggest the P.I. job, neat exploration. ICC assistance or whatever it is also gives you missions to check out beacons and distress signals, various stuff may involve dogfights so be wary and build up your skills. Edit- more keys to know: V changes flightmode speed (you start slow so you have to toggle it up). B opens your quantum drive destinations, point at a target and middle click to activate the drive and go to the destination. alsoalso if you do end up pledging in the end, use a referral code from the OP. reminder the only thing you ever need to pledge is the $45 packages, with the Aurora LN being the most valuable of the lineup at that price
During the free-fly, you have access to the Aurora LN, the Mustang Delta, and the Hornet F7C (baseline version). In the Crusader map, aka the baby Persistent Universe, you can crew on other peoples' ships, as well as steal them (but they don't typically like that and can despawn the ship underneath you so 'borrowing' ships from other fpcorp usually works better). Also, feel free to join our Discord channel, link's in the OP.

We get a Bugsmashers this week, too. Reminder again that the MISC Prospector, the smaller-than-the-Orion mining ship, is going on concept sale on Friday for $140. Details and pics will come then. Hopefully there'll also be a new design post on the state of mining, because we have the original design post with the Orion, but mining has had periodic work done on it by tech designers/etc. since then, and so much else has changed in the game since; I'd like to see a more focused, practical design post that shows they've got things at least a bit more nailed down and hints at what the practical implementation could look like. This is also a good time to mention again something that Archangel heard from someone at CIG (I think Matt Sherman?) a while back: CIG has been going hardcore on talking to us and showing us ships and putting the ships forward as one of the big things, and the reason they do this is because it's what the backers constantly talk about and ask questions about. Any RtV will include a ton of questions about the status of different ships, sometimes outnumbering questions about any other topic, and the forum is full of threads about different ships, be it X-Ship Owners' Club threads or "X ship is [too OP/too nerfed/too expensive/too big/too small/taking too long to be made/needs changes/is perfect and whiners need to shut the fuck up/etc.]" threads. They're still developing systems and features and everything else about the game other than ships, but they don't talk about them as much because the community's collective interest is clear. However, they seem to be trying to change this a little bit; the replacement of the Art Sneak Peek with the Look Ahead segment (which includes things like sound tech and AI tech improvements) is one example. I'm hoping they continue to gradually shift the focus like that, away from ships and onto systems and tech.
What's the scheduled release date for S42? Early 2017?
What's the scheduled release date for S42? Early 2017?
I was going to joke that chapter 1 of episode 1 of part 1 of SQ42 would be released sometime this century(to be confirmed) but then went ahead and looked anyway to see if I could find an updated release date. Saw a bunch of people optimistic that it would hit at the end of this year but I doubt it.
yeah, no schedule publicly given, as per ye olde stance of not wanting arbitrary dates to bite them in the ass anymore. We all saw how well the star marine situation went over last year, and one of the big parts of their original pitch for kickstarting was to avoid the pitfalls of publishers like being given hard cutoffs for sake of arbitrary deadlines. The natural downside is, people get anxious when they can't have all the facts. NOT giving dates is also biting them in the ass, just not as hard I'd wager from the way things have been moving, we'll be seeing more updates specifically on s42 with more of those highlight videos like the facial rigging thing as we get into the summer, and it wouldn't be a bad guess but still pretty optimistic to expect a closed/NDA beta phase toward the end of this year, and release while it's still snowing
It's not impossible that S42 could be released at the end of this year, as long as its exactly as terrible as that god damned tutorial. Holy shit that is just the worst thing.
