I think having a big dumb window on a miner like that is asking for trouble but otherwise I don't really have any issue with the design. It's nice and clean.
hwo much longer until i can play this game
So whatever happened to that giant mining spider robot with the rock cutters and not some silly magic laser?

AFAIK the mining spiders operate from dedicated mining stations like the one in sq42, but they did say something about smaller spiders for the Orion, though it might have been CR spitballing again

I'd have also voted to keep that nice industrial cage around the glass. guessing the handwavium is the round pads that look like the hoverthingers off the ship in the matrix are high power forward shielding/weird gravity projector so rocks stay in a collectible space, so the cage is unnecessary. They actually look a bit like the big shield generators on the redeemer so it's not exactly out of the question [t]http://a.pomf.cat/apqfnw.png[/t] [t]http://a.pomf.cat/okpymr.png[/t]

Saying that, I'm pretty sure the Aegis(?) Reclaimer comes with a luttle snubby ship, would be much more worthy of a cage considering it'll be up close and personal with big floating hunks of spesh ships. Or even just a hardier variant of the Prospector, like a small scale salvager? Not quite sure what variants could be used for, if any!
I thought they kinda looked like floodlights :v:
handwavium double usage flood light grav-gen thingybobs!

I imagine those things on the front of the Prospector are either tractor beams or shield generators, because the Prospector's likely to have bits of rock flying off up at it more than the average ship. Proof of concept for the Cat's living torpedo launchers, right there. 10ftD will be late today, per Lando's schedule post today:
10 for the Developers will be late today. Folks are working hard on 2.4 and that's delayed video production a bit. We're actually just filming it as I write this.
Ben and Alexis are on leave as her father just died, so it's up to Lando to handle the community team's workload. It'll be interesting to see if AtV is more or less awkward with Jared and Sandi reading bad jokes from a script than Ben and Sandi reading bad jokes from a script. Monthly report on Friday. Bugsmashers Wednesday. Reposts of AtV segments (Loremaker's/etc.) and the usual weekly items also on the schedule as always. If I was to download the game tonight, when is the next update?
If 2.4 went to PTU this week, 2.4 would probably go live the Friday after or early into the next week.
Damnit, the launcher keeps stopping the download overnight. I set it to go, and then wake up only to find it stopped around 9-10GB downloaded. Like it lost connection or something and couldn't be assed to reconnect and continue, even though the download isn't paused. It just sits there at 0.00 bytes/sec until I pause and continue the download....
If your ISP fucks with torrents, go into (SC path)\Cloud Imperium Games\Patcher and open the PatcherState file.
downloadMethod = Torrent
Change that to "HTTP" and save. (Then restart the launcher.)

Note that my ISP blocked torrents and while I could download the game fine using the above method, I could not connect to any multiplayer related things until I got myself a VPN which allowed me to torrent.
Note that my ISP blocked torrents and while I could download the game fine using the above method, I could not connect to any multiplayer related things until I got myself a VPN which allowed me to torrent.
You should call your ISP up and give them hell for denying you access to legal torrenting when you're paying them to give you a service.
That's really bullshit tbh. ISP should not ban torrents completely, at most they can block known trackers that are used for illegal downloads, like it's for me (university provides me with 100/100 connection).
Went into power settings and there was a hybrid sleep that was turned on and would kick in after ~20 minutes. Turned it off and it went just fine, but still stopped at ~3.7GB left, which is weird because that was after I checked it and it was running fine for 6 hours at night. [editline]5th May 2016[/editline] For some reason I get seemingly infinite load times for Arc Corp.
ArcCorp's player cap is now 40. The spawn elevator's a clown car, and the times I've tried going into ArcCorp the performance was slideshow-tier, so that might have something to do with it. Nuke USER and verify just to be sure, but it's probably a server-side thing. Unless you're loading SC off of HDD, in which case that might factor in. When AtV goes up I'll post the week's videos and news and stuff. This week's Jump Point rerun is a Galactic Guide article on the system the SynthWorld is in. Lore post is election night; Suj Kossi has won the Senatorial election for Jalan, becoming the first Tevarin Senator in the UEE.
