This is from the site starmap music.
So's this one:
[vid]http://techbot.xyz/ShareX/file/2016/05/24/1035854666.ogg[/vid]
The rest seem like ambient pieces or things that are very probably for SQ42.

It's the Bad Benny machinema glitch sounds!

They're really careful now, last time I got sq42 temp voice files. I lost them though... I think only thing I got left are some Astro Armada announcer \ reporter sound files.

I miss your avatars, Tech. Where'd they go?
I'm still waiting until I can draw my own. Well I could use the one I use in discord for now, I guess...
2.4j is up
Star Systems:
- Added a new Outlaw mission.
- Once a player turns into an Outlaw, they will receive the following mission: “Keep the Comm Arrays Offline”
- The Outlaw will be rewarded 500 aUEC every time they kill another player who is attempting to turn the Comm Array back on.
- Credit will only be received by the Outlaw if they kill the opposing player before the Comm Array is turned back on.
- Be aware that pirates will still attack Outlaw players.
Game Systems: - We have enabled ship respawn costs for Port Olisar!
- Destroyed ships will now have a respawn timer after being destroyed.
- Player can pay a aUEC fee to bypass the timer, and the cost to bypass the timer decreases over time.
- With this initial iteration, all ships have a 5 minute respawn timer, and a initial cost to bypass of 2500-3000 aUEC.
- In future iterations, the respawn timer and cost will differ from ship to ship.
Updates and Fixes
Star Systems:
- Fixed an issue that was making it difficult to interact with the Pirate armor in Garrity Defense.
- Added text fields for the Port Mod App so that nodes now convey their Type, Port Size and the currently equipped item in that node.

Game Systems:
- Fixed an issue where unequipping a flight suit would cause the jetpack to disappear when flight suit was reequipped.
- Chat window is now open by default (Toggle ‘F12’ to open/close window).
- Added a notification when a player is killed by another player in Crusader.
Ships:
- Made multiple fixes to the Hornet.

So as I own a cutlass black i've got a $10 coupon code for the bucaneer.
The things $110 isn't it? If thats so then I can straight up trade in my cutlass for one and thats mighty tempting.

That's the point of that coupon, which was targeted specifically at Cutlass owners.
The Bucc is the ship CIG has made to respond to the segment of Cutlass owners who thought they were buying the "pirate's fighter" despite the Cutlass concept description being a transport-cracking raider that's intended on taking bigger, softer targets than a pack of Super Hornets. The $10 coupon is so people with Cutlass Blacks can trade across 1:1 if they identify with said group of misplaced Cutlass owners.

Incidentally, I heard that SA's paywall (meaning, to read the forum as a guest; registration still unchanged as far as I know) went down a few days ago. I decided to take a peek, since I'd heard that the SC thread had been moved into a subforum made just for Derek and his crew of obsessive shitposters.

That was all I needed to see of the main SC thread.

not a bad loadout, aside from the fixed size 1s
pretty sensible size + 2 TR3s should make it pretty fast
That's the point of that coupon, which was targeted specifically at Cutlass owners.

I figured as much, I honestly wanted a ship like the cutlass because of the whole "tractor beam/boarding party" but having a buccaneer off the bat does sound like a better idea.
[editline]28th May 2016[/editline]
I think the question now is, since I have a buccaneer I can 1:1 change it for an F7C hornet or a freelancer. Guess once the buccaneer actually becomes flyable ill see
Everyone also note that you can get F7C->Bucc and Freelancer->Bucc $0 CCUs. Also means safeguarding against price increases when the Buccaneer inevitably goes up in price later.
I imagine Drake ships will work well in concert; Buccs deal with the escort while a Cutlass (or three) swoops in and fucks over the Freelancer DUR until it surrenders its cargo. If they've got a Connie, bring a Herald and another Bucc along for jamming and extra support. If you're going after something larger like a Carrack and its escorts, bring a Cat with suitable modules along and beef up the escort accordingly.
I have a $10 coupon for the Bucc since I own a Cutlass and I don't really need a Bucc so who wants it?
I have a $10 coupon for the Bucc since I own a Cutlass and I don't really need a Bucc so who wants it?
I'll take it off your hands, have a friend who's considering making it his big pledge and I can pay it forward
I would love an article on the science behind what would happen if you get sucked out to space and air leaks from the size of a pea to large cargo bay doors opening, just so that it's not my word but authority.
I know I'm a bit late, but
If you don't try to hold your breath, exposure to space for half a minute or so is unlikely to produce permanent injury. Holding your breath is likely to damage your lungs, something scuba divers have to watch out for when ascending, and you'll have eardrum trouble if your Eustachian tubes are badly plugged up, but theory predicts -- and animal experiments confirm -- that otherwise, exposure to vacuum causes no immediate injury. You do not explode. Your blood does not boil. You do not freeze. You do not instantly lose consciousness.
Various minor problems (sunburn, possibly "the bends", certainly some [mild, reversible, painless] swelling of skin and underlying tissue) start after ten seconds or so. At some point you lose consciousness from lack of oxygen. Injuries accumulate. After perhaps one or two minutes, you're dying. The limits are not really known.
Source/more: "How would the unprotected human body react to the vacuum of outer space? (Submitted June 03, 1997)"
http://imagine.gsfc.nasa.gov/ask_astro/space_travel.html
How long you can live in vacuum is actually an interesting problem for SC, I think. Free divers and other people acclimated to apnea can withstand minutes at a time, even with empty lungs. Wouldn't that sort of training be reasonable for people working so much in space as our avatars? Certainly for space military personnel.
But God, wouldn't that be horrible? Staying conscious long enough to feel your mucous membranes start to boil...
Maybe it can be some kind of character perk? Like, a typical civilian blacks out at about 30 seconds and from there takes health damage over the course of a minute or 2 until death, while a military trained character stays conscious basically until incapacitated by vacuum injuries.
Maybe it can be some kind of character perk? SC characters shouldn't work like that. Everything should be player skill, reputation, or equipment, not RPG class skills and perks.
I imagine if the game detects you're exposed to the vacuum without life support, it'll just kill you, but exactly what and how they're going to handle vacuum exposure is an interesting question.
Since Dai's friend cannot use the code, I'll just post it:
[t]http://puu.sh/paCwi/55278486d1.png[/t]
[editline]d[/editline]
Can ONLY be used if you're buying a Buccaneer full price, or if you already own a Cutlass you wouldn't even need this as you got your own.
He can't use it if he gets a Cutlass first? It also may be locked to the account, too. If so, posting it here is a nice effort but won't do much good for anyone else. :v:
The coupon was specifically to existing Cutlass owners in case they purchased the Cutlass under the false impression that it was the do-everything ship (which is actually how it was presented for a time, apparently), and not just a generalized discount for Buccs, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's account-locked.
Also, holy shit, 10ftDave and Lesnick is up extra early today.

The coupon would work if used to buy the full LTI ship but can't be applied to an upgrade, which my friend wanted to do. Oh well
I guess they were counting on people melting and buying the Bucc? That's not really a great deal for any Cutlass Black owner who has an upgraded package, thanks to the split. :v:
Doesn't affect me because I'm not a Cutlass owner nor do I want to pledge for a Bucc, but I see some flaws in this plan if it only works on the LTI standalone SKU.
There's at least the free ccu. Would have been nice if they sent the coupon to anyone who previously owned a cutlass instead if current owners, since most of the disillusioned cut owners melted out ages ago
Looks like CIG won't be at E3 this year. I'm not sure why.

Doesn't exactly bode well for a 2016 release of SQ42!
It's eerie how quiet news has gotten about it. It reminds me of when they said that Star Marine was going to be released in 3 weeks before it dropped off the face of the earth.
