Just went out in my Freelancer, found some probe outpost and got assigned to find a signal, turned out to be a ship that was destroyed by ships they were unable to identify. I imagine that's gonna lead up to some cool shit when the game is finished.

It's mostly wreckage sites or distress signals, everything with its own audio log and some fun surprises

So naturally I got fucked up in that fight. Hey am I able to interract with my ship's hud or not? The tab that says Radio, life, weps, etc?

I like that in the 2.4 PTU there's now an Alpha UEC cost or a timer associated with respawning your ship. So when you go out there, you need to pick your battles carefully, know when to hold 'em and know when to fold 'em. Adds a gravity to Star Citizen combat that simply wasn't there before.
I just can't wait till we can buy/rent ships in Star Citizen with (Alpha)UEC.
I just can't wait till we can buy/rent ships in Star Citizen with (Alpha)UEC.
If they make it mere renting and make it so ships can only be bought with real money, other backers and I would be furious because it would go directly against the single most important promise they made when the game was first pitched. That one thing would single-handedly kill the SC project. I hope they know better than that. To be clear, I don't mind if they wipe alpha progress whenever they need to because they've made changes for the next version. But as soon as Alpha UEC can be used to buy ships, they should do away with rentals except for Arena Commander.
I mean both, not just renting ships, like if I wanted to use a ship for a mission or two and never use it again, buying should be in, it would be bullshit to not have it.
For the record, Dai, the Vanguard you traded me is still my favourite ship to fly and fight in, and the one I think I'll be using more than any other in the Persistent Universe. I only wish it worked right in the current PTU.
I'll give you an update on the Redeemer right after the guy in charge of it gets off S42 :v:
Fuck, my patches didn't clear Chinese customs. God dammit. [editline]9th June 2016[/editline] And the $37.50 turns into useless store credit ... Wow.

Whoops. Also, 2.4 is still on PTU (up to release candidate T), but the PTU is now open to all backers.
Jesus, I hope they don't make 2.4 live in its current condition. The guns purchased at the store STILL don't have sights, the Vanguard Warden is completely broken and unusable (Main gun stops firing permanently after a single long burst, appears to still be firing clientside but the bullets do no damage and cannot be seen by others on the server) and the four lasers mounted on the nose hit the ship itself if it's moving at top SCM speed.
I ended up getting a real refund after all. Happy ending.
I ended up getting a real refund after all. Happy ending.
Good man! Did you have any problems getting it? Also did it come straight from CIG / RSI or some other weird company?

FUCK [editline]11th June 2016[/editline] Oh well. Downloading.
Good man! Did you have any problems getting it? What the? I had 5gb left in the PTU download.. closed it to play some Rocket League, now I can't see it in the launcher?! I thought it continued for the next week?
What the? I had 5gb left in the PTU download.. closed it to play some Rocket League, now I can't see it in the launcher?! I thought it continued for the next week?
Cause the patch went live. Not the first time they said fuck it, go live on a Friday night
If you rename the (SC install path)\Star Citizen\Test folder to Public, and then hit Verify in the launcher, you can probably spare some of your bandwidth in hopes that some of the packed files for PTU 2.4.0U is the same build as 2.4.0 live. Just remember to delete USER and restart the launcher.
