D&D V6 - Edition jokes don't really make sense anymore

Yeah, that's kind of just picking at words there. The implication is just prolonged contact with the stuff (like sitting on a poisoned seat) would do the trick.
I don't know about you guys but if the toilet seat I just sat on felt sticky or goopy or wet I'd get right the fuck up and see what the hell I just sat in, instead of pondering about the nature of the toilet's ickyness while doing my business for a minute.
you guys are all fucking pleb tier, obviously you coat the insides of a condom with it while you seduce your target and fuck them silly
you guys are all fucking pleb tier, obviously you coat the insides of a condom with it while you seduce your target and fuck them silly
The insides of a condom? So you get poison on your own dick?
wow way to be heteronormative
did you just assume the gender
The insides of a condom? So you get poison on your own dick?
The text says "other than you" which means you can smear however much poison you'd like on your [insert genitalia here] and you'll be fine.
Put it on a pencil that belongs to a scribe, or hell a whole book that someone is reading.
you guys are all fucking pleb tier, obviously you coat the insides of a condom with it while you seduce your target and fuck them silly
i was thinking more the other way round
get the women to have the poison on her ...insides and then the guy... you get the idea
i suppose so, but that is oddly specific and makes no sense to me at least for long term touching.
It pretty clearly specifies that's the case though, would've been far easier to simply say it requires touch but they still went with holding or wearing. Regardless of that though, this is already an incredibly oddly specific effect. Frankly I'd consider that part one of it's least strange properties.
It somehow doesn't affect the user.
It has completely different effects when coated on a weapon.
It only affects you after one consecutive minute of holding or wearing an object, which in many cases won't even require skin contact. Eg in most cases if you're holding a weapon you're probably wearing a gauntlet or at least gloves, if you're wearing armor you're probably wearing clothes underneath.
Once it affects you, it immediately immobilizes you, no gradual effect here you have one minute of nothing and then slam.
And then there's immobilization, which is not paralysis. Immobilization means you can't take any kind of move action but you can still "move" for literally any other purpose. So you can stand fine, you can kick, punch and even dodge attacks with no penalty, but you can't walk or crawl at all.
This is just an insanely arbitrary effect on all counts. I can't say that's especially unexpected coming from D&D 4th edition, though.
So today after besting a lesser god at her own game, she told my players that they could have one favor if it was in her power to give it.
The first two got decent magical items, the third pulled out an engagement ring he had taken from the goo pile that was our fourth player and asked for her hand.
What do it do in this situation? I've never had to think about the consequences of this.

That's honestly pretty smart and hilarious of the player. Goddess doesn't necessarily have to constantly be giving divine intervention, but could give the player a chance to find out more secret lore and happenings in the divine realm.
Could also go with the literal hand, depending on what kinda god it is :v:

This is my D&D character, Hagmar Petmyar. He's a Half-Elf who was born and raised in the town of Zelbross under the High Forest. He's a fighter and his main weapon is his Rapier that he named after his mother, Elasha. He's currently trapped in the Under Dark with a group of people he met after being taken by the Draw and brought to a prison after being drugged.
My friend drew this for me. He does do paid work so if you want to know more just PM me and let me know.

I'd say "Flattered, but no." Marriage is more than a 'favor', you know!

If you mean Shadowrun, then yes. 1e DnD has more in common with early 70s marvel than it does with chiaroscuro style.

Some of the setting books had even better examples of that, like Birthright or Masque of the Red Death.

i'm seriously considering releasing a beholder book, with at least 50-100 different types of beholders. one with a fleshy crown of eyes, one with shark rows of teeth, except human teeth... one that is a conjoined twin with another beholder, etc etc. hard cover and all. i'd seriously need to look into licensing though.
You need some Spelljammer era beholders!
Lensmen, which are humanoids with a single huge eye in their torso (as well as a huge mouth), Overseers which are huge flesh-trees whose branches are tipped with eyes, Orbus which are large, bloated sacks of flesh used to power Beholder Tyrant ships.
At first glance that picture you posted looks like it has a ray gun in it's right eyestalk, instead of being an eyestalk. Would be a bit redundant for most beholders, but silly-great.

Xykon, is that you?
Xykon, is that you?
That's the Magian. He's.. well, Birthright is uh.. different. He was a Khinasi (arabian/persian) magician from across the sea who came to the land, killed an Awnsheghlein, and absorbed it's vile blood. He eventually became a lich-like entity and is one of the major powers of the continent. It's a pretty cool setting that never got enough love and now lies forgotten like many 2e settings.
The basic premise of the setting is that, far in the past, about 1000 years ago, the gods died in a great battle called Deismaar. When they died, their essence spread throughout the land and infused into a number of beings across the continent and possibly the world. Among those infused, some flat out became gods. Most others merely inherited a 'bloodline', some aspects of the divine power that fell. These bloodlines were quickly found to be able to be stolen by stabbing a 'scion' (bearer of a bloodline) in the heart. It was also found that those that possess bloodlines and were rulers of land were able to literally tie themselves to the land and become a true 'regent'.
There's lots of neat things in the setting, but the Awnsheghlein are those that inherited Azrai's bloodline, the god of evil, and made heavy use of their powers. This caused them to mutate into some fitting monstrous form, but also serves as the reason why certain high-end D&D monsters aren't exactly common in the setting: they simply didn't exist until the Awnsheghlein form. There's, for instance, The Vampire, The Gorgon, The Spider (a goblin drider, sort of). That's not to say more can't or don't exist, just that they didn't before the titular one did.
Then you have the Shadow World, a combination of fairy realm and dark mirror of the prime world. That's where halflings are native to, though most have since fled to the Daylight world (the prime world) from some apocalyptic event. The Shadow World has some special rules: Seeming (natural illusion powers of the realm and certain inhabitants) and Perception (natural shadow world illusion piercing).
The setting assumes that at least one player will be a Regent. Thus, it has some pretty good realm management rules as well as a simplified wargame built in. There's also some cool shit that spellcaster regents can do called Realm spells which can do extremely powerful things like turning lead to gold, summoning armies, or blasting a region with hellfire. Then there's battle spells, upscaled spells that influence a battlefield. For instance, a magic missile storm instead of a single missile is still just a level 1 slot, but only usable in a battlefield (or possibly skirmish) situation.
I think the setting is pretty great. Too bad we'll never see it again, or Planescape or Ravenloft. Setting books are probably never going to come out again, even the Forgotten Realms doesn't have one (and the Sword Coast book isn't a full setting book).

Beholders are one of the few monsters that Wizards still holds an absolute death grip on, sadly.

shit. imagine a spelljammer beholder player character, but its story is that its rival actually cut off all of its eyeballs from its eyestalks, so now the beholder uses like badass fantasy sci-fi 70's raygun implants where each eyeball would be.

Thanks for the advice on the last page, i do have a more important question though.
My girlfriend has started to show interest in D&D whenever i play with friends, and has asked to try it out. I'm planning to GM a couple of sessions when she gets back from visiting her parents with her and our other two housemates. Main thing is that the three of us are fairly experienced and can get pretty hardcore, whereas she was very sheltered growing up and only became familiar with a lot of media recently, she hadn't really played games before or dealt with any fantasy settings past Lord of the Rings. She has been a huge fan of the RPGs I've played with her, namely Mass Effect and KotOR so i know she'd enjoy it.
I just wanted to ask if anyone had any advice on how to help her get used to the setting and how the game is played, how to start out i suppose. Everyone I've ever played with has been fairly experienced.
Probably the best way, I've found, is to make a character for them to play as. Lets them hang around and get a feel for roleplaying as well as mechanics without being thrown in the deep end from session one. If they decide they like it, they can make a character themselves later on. You could give them control of an NPC that's been hanging around the party, or something of that nature, so that their introduction won't interrupt the flow. More time to learn the ins and outs of the game, the nature of the party itself, and figure how their potential new character will fit into it all.
We had a longer session today, which started with slow farming and social interaction in the party, to buying things for the party and then get dragged into a huge battle against terrifying aberrations. As usual, we got tons and tons of doodles so get ready for some no-context inside jokes!
