Well, Sunday is the day my character has a chance of leaving Barovia in 5e. Some people are saying it's really difficult or something, but this seems to be the only Tier 1 way of getting out, and I have to prepare for the new Storm King's Thunder coming up in a couple months.

So in Rogue Trader tonight, in between turns in combat our Explorator threw this together It's not a proper game until your players make game related shitposts
You mean the plot to The Division?
Yeah but devil worshipers doing it rather than ecoterrorists, we're expecting the four horsemen to be the BBEGs
I heard of a campaign where the players are all SS operatives and the Reich sends them into the past with a Nazi time machine to try to stop them from losing WW2 but it breaks and shoots them into the future instead and everybody is Jewish and they're living in a utopia of hyper technology. But then aliens attack and the future-Jews have been living in peace for so long that they don't know how to fight, so the SS operatives have to save them in order to save the Human race and find a way back home. And at the end everyone decided they'd rather stay in the future. I sorta wanna try it.
I'm my campaigns one of my friends gave birth to the term 'Rock falls everyone dies', and in the current active campaign the party lost their vehicle of choice the cart around 5 times now. One friend sent me a link with the message 'Our god is not a merciful one' and this is it. [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/5QsZjFY.jpg[/img_thumb]
We ended up having a session partially derailed because the DM refused to believe that characters with no armor have an AC of 10 + their dex mod. He was positive it was just their dex modifier and we ended up hunting around in the book and online for a good 5 minutes before we found out he was wrong. Cue more complaining and then a break. Really kind of surreal compared to to what usually gets bitched about at the table.

If he doesn't even care enough to know the core combat of the game it's going to be a wildly unpleasant campaign to be in.

I still remember that magnificent image Fetching made from my RT game when his tech-priest was lobotomizing small children and our various operations of various state of doom in the first Shadowrun game
Also, speaking of Rogue Trader, so far I'm liking the dynamic between my Null and the party Psykers. As in, I like how I'm the party's certified walking cancer/migraine machine :v: [editline]30th July 2016[/editline] Since I'm a Null, couldn't I technically just lasso and hop onto a Zoanthrope and all it would do is wriggle around on the floor like an adorable giant worm (since psychic powers cannot manifest within a certain vicinity of me)?
It's freakin' magic dude, again. The city has sanitation, and again, the general gist of my (paranoid, probably ill-informed) discovery is that this thing is very clearly a conspiracy, that there is no way to tell if silver is infected or if it isn't (it's actual agent might be mystically bound to the silver itself, but again, no way to know because we haven't found the infected coins yet), the disease incubates for a substantial period during which it's undetectable, and OH YEA anyone with it probably goes to the temple to get it cured, ensuring that the coin is right there infecting their priests and anyone else who comes to the temple for service and because both temple and the local order of mages are TOTALLY USELESS we can't get a water breathing spell to get down to the wreck of the ship to get evidence and until we have evidence the marshall of the guard (annoyingly, if reasonably) won't declare it a state of emergency and even then we don't even have a start on a mundane cure because this disease is totally unknown and already the mystical disease-curing resources are overwhelmed trust me when I say that I am sure that whoever is causing this plague took the utmost effort to make sure mundane precautions wouldn't work, and all of this I've just explained only came together thanks to a lot of seperate pieces of evidence that all fit together too cleanly to be anything else which didn't really make sense in context but we only came upon them thanks to my general proclivity for paranoid deductive leaps that turned out to be TOTALLY RIGHT like seriously if I wanted to inflict a plague on a specific city and do it in such a way that by the time the authorities actually got a move on it would be too late, and do so in a way that doesn't make it obvious it was an attack by a foreign power, this would be it

He's not joking I have seen this thing and it is like staring into hell that's not even counting the small novel's worth of out-of-context quotes too
I still need a picture of my Ranger characters with their flaming sleeping mats and their longbow machineguns.
I did it, my character survived The Ghost adventure in Barovia. However, apparently they weren't able to actually leave yet...I guess you need a certain number of downtime days before you can successfully escape. However, after finishing the adventure, I did level up to level 5 and one of the DMs at the store said they were running the Tier 2 adventure that lets you escape Barovia next sunday, so I definitely will get in on that. That adventure was brutal as fuck though. Didn't help that I was the only level 3 character, and I was paired with two level 1's.

bonus to what? [editline]31st July 2016[/editline] if you mean XP, probably. i think he's just kind of leveling us up whenever it seems appropriate, but i imagine he'll give me something for it
I still remember that magnificent image Fetching made from my RT game when his tech-priest was lobotomizing small children and our various operations of various state of doom in the first Shadowrun game
First off motherfucker, I was performing highly invasive spinal surgery on that child as my tools rusted in front of me for the sole purpose that trooper would get a psyker kid. Second, that was a remake of rear's shitpost, forever lost to the sands of time: Another shitpost I found: [t]https://puu.sh/gATBo/529ee443bd.png[/t] It appears Operation: Magic Missile is lost to the sands of time. How sad.
and that session ended with me holding a cursed sword that i'm about to become friends with because we both speak infernal

As a player currently in Book 5, you're in for some fun friend. It has been the best Paizo campaign I've played, and that's with it being run almost entirely by the book.
thoughts: can i use a familiar to open a sealed package? it's wrapped in cloth and sealed with hot wax i'm like 90% sure whatever's in there is going to fucking murder whatever opens it but if it's a familiar, no one has to know if that won't work my plan B is to write "DON'T OPEN, FULL OF MONEY" on it and leave it in a tavern and wait

3/4 of my party are lawful good or lawful neutral, and not only does it probably contain either a bomb or something really terrible, it's also the property of the lord governor, who we're working for i have a familiar and mending, so theoretically I can open it and then reseal it, i just really want to know what's in it an i can't think of any other way to do that so far my party doesn't even know i have it because it's technically a secret mission my character's boss gave me and i've managed to lie my way around knowing it exists (which involved interrogating people about something only i know exists while my own party was present, which was weird) and sneaking it into my bags once it turns into a giant demon i'm probably in trouble, but unless it's some weird convoluted system with two bags of holding that will nuke the continent once i open it, i'm probably okay
If I was my chaotic pirate sorcerer character, I'd totally just open it on the spot. The DM shouldn't kill you for roleplaying your character well. Then again, that's just my character, if your character is supposed to be smart and/or not insane, then its not advised :v:
