how do you get eaten by a ship
Lets just say that over the course of the campaign, Kronk has been using horrifying and evil magic to graft the flesh of both dragons and people to his ship for a long time now. It eventually started speaking.
Originally the party just ignored Kronk's flying death ship because it got shit done. And now its the party's second main quest to deal with :v:
liberate tutemet ex inferis
Way too fitting. That's basically what the ship became, except its an actual flying pirate ship instead of a spaceship.

But then it's no longer ASOIAF, that's just alternate reality ASOIAF which is not nearly as popular
All games set in any concretely established canon setting are gonna be alternate reality versions of that setting.

And that's why games based on movies, books and stuff are rarely that successful.
Even the Star Wars RPGs are only decently successful, and they have a slew of advantages over other licensed games.
Tonight in Shadowrun, I Adam Jensen through two walls and yell FREEDOM while everyone else abducts a hooker and beheads her pimp.

Oh, and Sib's robot girlfriend died in the first fight it got into.
our samurai was forced to take off his plate armor after being arrested
dude is not a dude, is indeed a lady, who's voice sounded deep because the echo of his helmet which makes no sense but wgaf
it was also his excuse to completely change his character's playstyle. Its basically a new character

The Star Wars RPGs are actually crazy successful, just behind D&D and Pathfinder and above Shadowrun.

whoever designed 5e's repair rules fucking hates riggers
5% of a vehicle's cost PER FUCKING BOX REPAIRED MY FUCKING ASS
so I'm out 20 grand and basically all of it's the mage's fault because she couldn't watch where she was slinging lightning spells

Much as I like Star Wars, the success of that RPG line caused FFG to essentially slam dunk their 40k RPGs in a dumpster fire because they aren't profitable enough. That's got me peeved a bit.
A reprint of some of the books would be nice.
Battlefleet Koronous, Into The Storm, and Hammer of The Emperor, I'm looking at you.

Mages can't cast around corners unfortunately, I would've come over and helped out but I was rolling like ass on initiative and was busy creating doors. Also this is why I never pimp out one drone, getting 5 shitty identical drones with identical weapons all running one set of autosofts is way more bang for your buck.

shush you
I am going to fix this drone and continue making bad decisions with it no matter how much nuyen I have to throw at it
admittedly, I kind of made a critical error in forgetting to turn on her super-good stealth systems when the shooting started, but I was still in 'protect the package' mode so figured everything shooting at her was better than the chance of our payday getting hit
it's still mostly the mage's fault for not premeassuring blast radii though
that and I'm not a rigger, so I don't have the gear to run 5 drones at once while also doing the hacking, the whole point of drone-waifu is that she can basically handle herself without needing me there constantly supervising

Well color me surprised, I barely ever see anyone actually running the game.
wait what fucking Dragon Age is the fifth
this can't possibly be even remotely accurate to how many people actually play these games

Mages can totally shoot around corners though, what are you talking about.
Indirect spells (eg lightning bolts) don't need line of sight, and mage goggles exist for the rest.

Drones always need babysitting unfortunately, they're flimsy and dumb and expensive and can't edge if they get unlucky. You could have sold tittybot and bought an RCC really :v: then abuse swarm rules with flyspies and Streetline Specials. Or get Valkyrie to rig it so it's got better rolls.

No screw you and your logic
I was the one with the presence of mind to save and fix up the drones so I will continue to make poor decisions in and out of character about them
And lets be frank bad decisions or not that whole job went a lot better with the drone than if we'd just relied on the mage to go in solo (between helping get us in, noticing the camera, being able to do the direct uplink to shut down the personasoft, shredding a bunch of guards that you otherwise would have needed a few rounds to take out, and generally doing a good job of knocking down the elite mook reinforcements before I made that atrocious armor roll that led to her getting disabled)
So even if I have to spend a ton of money to fix her up I feel kind of vindicated by her performance, and all I need is to get her a monowhip autosoft and she can literally do all of my decker's combat stuff better

It's based purely on sales. So it discounts the savvy people who use VTs and don't pay a dime.
DM lost the original copy of my gnome bard, so I took a pre-gen dwarf thief instead.
What a night that was. No exaggeration when I say at least a fucking quarter of all rolls were natural 1s. Our quest was to clear out an evil tower.
First, we had to surmount a stone well. Someone got pulled in by ghostly hands, so they stood on the bucket at the bottom and everyone tried to pull them up. Nat 1, rope snapped halfway. I found a rune button that made the bucket and party member levitate out of the well. Then we found a dead body hanging up. Someone tried to poke it so it would fall. Nat 1, it fell on top of him and instantly grappled him. It's a revenent.
My friend levitated to see through the second storey window of the tower. He couldn't get down. I threw a rope at him but failed to pull him down, so now I've got a magical meat balloon. Second idea was to throw one of my hammers at him. It hits, and he rolls for concentration. Nat 1, so his concentration breaks so hard that he has to take fall damage.
We enter try to enter the tower, stone gargoyles attack. DM went easy on us and said that my stonecunning meant I got advantage on attacks. During this fight I tied my throwing hammer to a rope, and it fucking kicks all ass in the universe when used with sneak attack.
Party enters to an empty lobby. Someone tries to read an evil book. Nat 1, takes fire damage.
Me and another try to sneak into the upper chamber. DOUBLE NATURAL ONE FOR SNEAKING. And I'm a fucking thief!
A horde of mechanical gremlin things attack us. My first attack splatters one of them, my second attack is... surprise... a natural 1. My McAwesome Hammer Rope slips from my hands and flies out the window. The entire party grieved, since it was responsible for more killing blows than everyone else combined.

I mean... it's sales numbers. That's the only real metric of how "successful" a game is. If a million people are playing it, but nobody pays for it, it's not really successful.
Perhaps your perception is skewed because you only play games online, which unsurprisingly have an infinitely small effect on sales. (Because piracy)
If you're curious, the fourth and fifth spots on that game are always changing around, Shadowrun is on that list once every two years, but Star Wars is always third.

Yeah, can't deny it helps, but you're going to cry about how much it's going to cost you, I know because I did too when I lost a seriously pimped out drone in a 4e game I didn't have the money to fix or replace and didn't have much else, drone upkeep is the worst part of rigging.
[editline]10th August 2016[/editline]
Also I really wouldn't give it a monowhip, it can't edge to save itself and will be rolling like 10-12 dice, very real chance it destroys itself :v:

well it's not like I'm getting much use out of money otherwise, since unless we win some lotteries or steal them it's not like my deck is going to get upgraded anytime soon :v:
Seriously though whoever decided that basically any gear-using class was going to face massive price increases (for the most part, with some weird exceptions like the autoassault) across the board to the point upgrading any component in regular play can take dozens of jobs deserves to get punched

I get the same treatment, better guns are a minor upgrade for me, the RPG is basically an end-game weapon and costs 15k, but if I want to upgrade my wired reflexes which costs 90k but doesn't actually make me any better, then I can buy new things.
[editline]10th August 2016[/editline]
And then whoever it was telling me to save up for synaptic boosters, which cost fucking 95k at rating 1 standard grade.
I binged a shitload of World of Darkness lore yesterday when I was tired as fuck. I remember seeing that setting on Roll20, so I curiously browsed for available games and found THIS. A massive World of Darkness project. They've got 22 players in this group they're making so far, but they're looking for 100 over time. This looks insanely good, but the application sheet is massive. Great for experienced VtM guys I guess.
So I found a game on Roll20, though it's on at 1 am Tuesdays for me. My GM sounds exactly like the most clichéd nerd impression, but is apparantly a reliable sort so it's all good. Playing a halfling paladin following the 8 Virtues from the Ultima series.

made this derg for my campaign setting.
“A thousand years ago, Otuir came down from the skies and ravaged the continents of Omios Ures. The war waged against the wyrm united all living beings: humans, elves, dwarves and many more, to fight against the impending doom. Today, the city of Myrrka stands tall; built on top of his skeleton; it represents times of great struggle, resilience, overcome and alliance.”
it was an event of global scale that still scars today's society, there's a lot more to this in the campaign setting book buuuuut this is a brief synopsis.
Looks like it really wants to have someone give it a good scrub.
yeah. that would've prevented the war, but nobody thought of that 1000 years ago.

I know it's talking about sales numbers, I'm surprised the sales numbers are this far away from actual popularity.
And actual popularity is way more important to me than "success"

Sadly sales numbers is what allows commercial projects to keep going, even if everyone loves them.

That was me :P
But it's bioware so in all honesty getting them used is like, a slap on the wrist compared to the amount of essence you save over normal wired reflexes means that even at that price point it's worth
