boy, I really hope my shadowrun players appreciate the work I'm going to making a jackpoint ripoff for them to post in between games
Oh, conjuring foci and a lodge then, and the centering metamagic since spirits can be a lot of drain.
I usually go for pretty nice lodges anyway, what's the deal with em and spirits other than the mana barrier?
today in Shadowrun I successfully caused the destruction of three helicopter gunships with nothing more than a keyboard decker life is best life also I stole a more normal police heli. Not sure if it's going to be worth anything but still cool as shit to have either way
going to homebrew something really cool next weekend. my players are going to play as themselves (level 0 commoners) in the real world, and will have to make it out alive off a cloverfield + myst-like scenario. the best thing is that they have no idea what they'll be diving into, and the session will start with us laying around the table (them knowing they'll be playing themselves, with their character sheets) and drinking a few beers with the TV on in the background. by that time, they're already playing the game. then at a set time (which will match the real life time) i will interrupt whatever's going on the TV with a fake EAS broadcast warning about seismic activity and an evacuation procedure. then it'll begin. it's going to be awesome (or so i hope!), it's VERY horror-driven.

It's just gonna be a little forum for sharing info and rumors between runners in Seattle, but it'd be cool if my players have runners to interact with that aren't me pretending to be ten different people

I'd love to hear how this pans out. Be mindful of course, that commoners are weak af. I'd forgotten they've got like 4 hp.
Not even an hour into my new pathfinder campaign and I've already disappointed my god and have been cursed by her fml [sp]Our fighter busted down a door in a temple of hers and guilt by association is a thing apparently in my characters religion :v: [/sp]

I'll be glad to assist you in this endeavor!
The game starts next week, so I'll probably open it up a day or so ahead so you guys can fill the general with whatever shadowrun-themed stuff you want. There's gonna be stuff on there I want visible always to my players (I'm going to be giving them jobs and important info for in-session stuff through it), so basically there's gonna be three 'boards' - Jobs is where I'm gonna post the jobs my players have to choose from. Only I can post threads there, but anyone can reply, so you can drop by and give your 2c on a run before my player choose it. Datashare is gonna be read-only for everyone but me and my players. This is where the important shit I want them to know is going to be, mixed in with the npc runners just sharing info about other stuff. This is the jackpoint-lite section, basically. If you want to write something styled on how jackpoint has guest people in to talk about certain subjects, lemme know and I can give you access. General is gonna be open for anyone to make threads etc. Post about whatever as long as it's from a shadowrunner perspective - half my party has never played Shadowrun before and one of them has but doesn't know too much about the setting, so if you can give little snippets of useful alongside your GET DREKKED CHUMMER that'd be cool edit: I'm glad people are interested, this could turn out really cool
is it time for me to write entire essays in character because it sounds like it's time to write essays in character

I found this playlist of east asia themed combat music from shows/games and I really dig it. I'm gonna try using it in my one off and I figured you guys might like it as well. It's not super overbearing and bombastic like of a lot of combat playlists seem to be.
So, to break up a bunch of people actually getting to do sorta exciting things for once, I have a bit of a problem with my GM. To be specific, it's the fact that it seems that he sorts of ignore most social aspects of D&D in favor of dungeon crawling. Now, I've got my biases (Bard), but I would love to get my Diplomacy and Bluff to be useful. But here's the thing - although initially sorta against such things because we had a Sorcerer in our party with his hilariously high bluff, trying to use it for everything, he's afraid to allow us to use those skills extensively. However, he is also afraid of losing players, so he ends up budging and allows us to get our way, which feels kinda bad. How would I go to propose to the GM to do more social aspects of D&D, without overstressing the fellow? I mean, not to say that he's a bad GM, but he tends to rely on railroading between dungeons a bit heavily.
So I've started a JoJo's Bizarre Adventure campaign, or rather started preparing for one since a couple of the players aren't ready yet, and I'm really excited to start it. I already have a passable plot for it and a few neat Stand Users set aside for the campaign. One of my players has already made his Stand, but I've made it a point to only see the parts of their characters that I need to approve and everything else is a surprise for me.

So dark ages: vampire became extraordinarily difficult to run when a player wanted to center themselves around 11th century islam. I thought I knew stuff about Islam, At least more than the average infidel. Turns out not enough to run someone who's method of staving off the beast is too trust in god. He's rather unforgiving of mistakes, but he's a religious studies student, not a real-life muslim. Already have to research both real and fictional history to run the game. Guess I'm gonna have to learn old arabic and read the Koran a bit. Or tell him to change characters because his is too hard. I suppose that'd be less insensitive seeing as how he's not a genuine muslim. Also. You shouldn't make difficult characters.
I'll be the best armchair general that ever gave untested advice.
Punch the blood spirit, come on, what's the worst that could happen.
Punch the blood spirit, come on, what's the worst that could happen.
That technique is tested and it worked flawlessly I'll have you know.

After having posted in the Warhammer thread, here is my Official Campaign Pitch for a short Dark Heresy 2e adventure, organised in the spirit of the season:
++++++++ Classified by Inquisitorial Order, Protocol Phi-36738-MNT ++++++++ M41.8XX.XXX Agents The purge of the heretical cult XXXXXXX XXXX on the planet XXXXX, though successful, remains unfinished. The main culprit, the Heretic 'Samedi', guilty of inciting people to turn their backs on the Imperial Cult, and suspected of Sorcery, has eluded the purge, and escaped the planet. His trail is known. His ultimate destination is the Frontier World of Prosperity, a mining colony brought forth by industrial interests. You have been assembled to travel to Prosperity as soon as possible, track down Samedi, and bring his wretched heresy to a close, either by capture or death. This will be your first assignment. Though a challenging task, Samedi is but a lone man, and will, by all estimates, have had no opportunity to establish a following on Prosperity in the brief time since his arrival on the planet. Complete your task, and you will have proven yourselves in the eyes of the Emperor - and me. ++++++++ Signed: Inquisitor Tobius Mart ++++++++ Seal Verified ++++++++ Encryption protocols engaged ++++++++ May the Emperor guide us
The estimated time of sessions would be friday evenings, European time, but it could change depending on circumstances. I plan to use voice, but this can also be changed if enough people want it so. If interested, PM me!
