I'm in Canada and places from amazon.com don't ship to me.
I'm making a d100 table of random shit for my Srun game - some bad, some good, and some that are just statements for me to interpret on the spot however is appropriate like 47 - 'Dead or alive, you're coming with him.', or 24 - 'You call that a knife?'
I'm in Canada and places from amazon.com don't ship to me.
Ah, that's unfortunate. There's some hits on E-Bay but they're not exactly cheap. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dark-Heresy-1st-edition-Core-Rulebook-/131960061122?hash=item1eb96ebcc2:g:7R4AAOSw9NdXrexl http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Warhammer-40-000-DARK-HERESY-CORE-RULEBOOK-Fantasy-Flight-DH01-RPG-1st-Edition-/191870720072?hash=item2cac62d848:g:9aQAAOSwWntXNE4h And on that note, if you want physical copies of any other 40k RPG books you should probably get them ASAP, prices are rocketing since FFG are losing the license to sell them next year in February.
It's not a classic D&D Halloween game unless one of them triggers a curse (that can not be easily dispelled) that will make their skeleton become sentient after a certain amount of time. Failure to dispel the curse will result in the skeleton literally ripping their body apart to get free of the flesh prison. Can also have it be a slow progression with their body misbehaving at inopportune moments as the skeleton becomes more aware. fuckin casuals
There's a number of Pathfinder and 5e magic supplements that actually have spells that let your party casters do that :v:
Like: 33 - "It's like looking in a mirror." ?
as in, those were examples and I'm already mostly done 33 is actually 'I don't remember buying that frag grenade.'
as in, those were examples and I'm already mostly done 33 is actually 'I don't remember buying that frag grenade.'
Oh haha, misunderstood. Are they for spicing up encounters?
Oh haha, misunderstood. Are they for spicing up encounters?
general multipurpose spicing
like tabletop salt, except hopefully without anyone getting salty
Surprise your players by throwing salt in their eyes during tense moments!
I'm in Canada and places from amazon.com don't ship to me.
That's what Canadian Amazon is for. It's probably been out of print since DH2 came out, so price is naturally going to surge with supply dwindling.
It's still about $92, which is ridiculous.
But unlike crack cocaine, you only have to buy it once. Unless you rip it.
My one off is nearly done. Looking forward to sometime next century once our groups schedule finally aligns and we can all play together.
So I'm having kind of an Idea Overload with how I want my campaign to go, so I need some way to kind of manage that. Does anybody have any good tips on making sure the story isn't just a bunch of loosely linked bullshit?

Defeat/destroy/banish X Any side missions they undertake has a way of helping that goal. As an example: main goal is to destroy an lich king Group is currently trying to cure a plague in a small town Maybe the town offers blessing to the players or maybe discount prices on silver'd weapons?
Well no here's the problem, I'm running a JoJo campaign so the story is a lot more technical. I have an Idea but I'm afraid that it's too cliche even for JoJo.

It's what led to wizard swat teams and King Arthur's body inside of a giant monster angel. In a JoJo game, you can do whatever the fuck you want and no one can complain.
Most parts of JoJo still had one central villain that most of what the heroes did revolved around.
Yeah but I wanted to kind of make it more like Part 4 where there was some time before the villain was introduced. I'm really shooting for that Part 4 vibe, and I have a location and everything but I feel like I'm having trouble deciding how the story will be paced. Obviously I know that I can throw whatever at my players comfortably, but I also don't want to make them feel as if they could just walk away from the villain you know?

Re: other 40k RPGs: I've got Rogue Trader, Only War and Dark Heresy 2. Not interested in Deathwatch or Black Crusade, so I don't need to worry about those. I do wish there was a copy of Battlefleet Koronus and Into The Storm for Rogue Trader, but they've been out of print for awhile so the prices are going to be jacked way up. Thanks for bringing those to my attention! [editline]9th October 2016[/editline] I'm actually more concerned with finishing off my 3.5 collection. My friends and I are building up to an Invasion of the Nine Hells campaign, which should be a good time.
So how do you guys prefer running/playing campaigns. One large overarching story or more modular adventures? I've seen opinions (and experienced first hand) that the first one can become railroady or stagnant.
Started off with little quests until i offered them the chance to join the main church and undertake a holy mission (the main quest.)
I've been starting my guys off small and letting them do what they wish, but they will occasionally come across the big bad/his cronies. Eventually I plan on having this become the major hook in time.
How can i spice up normal combat encounters with my party of: Sword fighter Bow fighter Hammer shield Paladin. Every one we face comes down to " can enemy be eventually reached and then hit with swords? " If yes > run at them and hit with swords If no > loose arrows and javlins at them until dead Party doesn't have magic (paladin the exception) and even if they did it would be taking a back seat to steel. Rivers, cliffs provide no deterrent because if its too big they just go projectile.
Tuckers Kobolds.
Tuckers Kobolds.
http://tuckerskobolds.com/ for benefit if your party steamrolls combat, decimate them with traps and other magical things. obviously to some degree you should be working with them not against them but when they trivialise everything, it's time to take them down a notch and get them thinking again
What games have good, personal combat systems? Lots of player agency, somewhat realistic, actually have rules, Isn't really slow. A good, healthy blend. Especially with melee systems. I think it's a lot easier to make a system about the simple system of shooting people than it is to make a complex mess of melee.

The main cast could have just walked away from Shigechi, Yukako, or Rohan. You probably should just talk with your players and tell them something like: "Yo, bizarre things are gonna happen. If you want this campaign to work your characters are gonna have go full Mystery Inc and find out what's going on. Tell me what motivates your characters, and I'll meet you halfway with the plot hooks."
