My campaign is going swimmingly. Friends have to go to the S'Crapyard and defeat Squashing Machine to find a missing page of a spellbook to complete a rune for a magic spell that will banish either Coaltergeist or Coldergeist to end a feud in order to get the third material to *inhale* forge a Wonder-magic conducting super weapon to hard-counter a Wicked-magic-totting personification of pure asshattery aka my group almost died fighting a washing machine today
No, there's numbers right there, I need to get them as high as possible. Decided to make him an NPC in my own game instead of making the GM suffer through balancing encounters for that shit. :v:
Something is definitely wrong there unless you have one hell of a magic item, and/or are including AC bonuses like the shield spell.
even with low level spells 31 AC sounds completely bonkers to me
even with low level spells 31 AC sounds completely bonkers to me
Well, high elf barbarian (lvl 1) multiclassing into bladesinger (SCAG, lvl 2). Roll 18 for dex and con and 17/18 for int (so get really lucky with the rolls). +5 Dex +4 Con +4 Intellegence. Unarmoured defense gives you 19. With bladesong (can't use shield) active, you add intelligence to AC, plus shield spell is max AC of 28. I can't see getting higher by level 3 without having some high end magic items. If you include other players, shield of faith and warding bond (can be accessed by 3rd level characters) you can bump it up to 31. But honestly, at level 3, unless you are in fights you shouldn't be in, I'd say 90% of the time much over 25 AC isn't going to make you harder to hit. Plus, plenty of things go around AC too. [editline]7th November 2016[/editline] Because 10,000,000 AC will still get hit on a nat 20. So running Hunter is fun Nothing like putting a lot of thought into a mystery and adding some contingencies for how you think it might play out, then watching your players take your hints and run fucking wild I'm really looking forward to seeing how much the storyline has diverged by the end
man i really wanna gm a cozy ol folksy americana-type game but it's gonna take some crazy creativity to run a game with a consistent tone of wholesome old-time whimsy instead of violence, quests, loot, and fantasy.

no its not the same
Today in Pathfinder, I try to shoot people three times and misfire my musket twice, the mage makes a guy's head burst open with no apparent cause, we steal a crane on a cart that's been coverted into a war rig, the rogue gets kidnapped by some guys, the mage nearly gets kidnapped by some other guys, and we get challenged to a 2v1 duel by a knight and both of the attacks to hit him are crits.

Today in our game (it was over a month since we last played), I proceeded to eat a greataxe critical for max damage. I subsequently rolled a 6 and a 1 for my death saves, dying on my second turn. That set the tone for the rest of the evening, with two of the surviving three dying to a black ooze. Our surviving party member led it over a patch of highly poisonous mushrooms (our DM ruled for each mushroom per square, a failed con test by the black ooze would deal it 1 poison damage), and then proceeded to whack it with a quarterstaff until it stopped moving.
I think I screwed up my chessex battlemat... I let the dry eraser marker sit for far too long and it started to become really hard to get out. Now as I try to wipe it off, the grid lines are starting to come off.
You used dry erase? You're supposed to use wet erase on those.
I learned the hard way. There's only a small corner where I noticed the lines started coming off. However, toothpaste works WONDERS on these things and cleans them out easily.
anyone wanna play cyberpunk 2020 i wanna run something and so i need to get started quick before i lose interest
The Beholster. Attunement, Short Rest. A small leather holster made from beholder hide. While attuned to this item any small firearm stowed in this holster for at least 1 minute deals an additional 1 elemental damage based on the color of the bearer's eyes: (Amber: Lighting, Black: Necrotic, Blue: Cold, Brown: Acid, Green: Force, Gray: Thunder, Hazel: Poison, Purple: Psychic, Red: Fire, White: Radiant).
I have a lot of free time to think while at work, so sometimes I come up with magic items to hand out. I'm really proud of this one, despite the fact that I just took the name and effect from two different sources.
Yes.
shoot me your steam stuff, we'll talk
Today on D&D 5e, after being told that a flaming skull reforms 1 hour after being slain, we proceed to immediately take a short rest after defeating it. We are smart people.
I spent an entire session of Shadowrun eating pizza, drinking wine I stole earlier and making ammo while the rest of the team kidnapped and interrogated a travel agent and the guy we're trying to kill's wife.

PSYCHIC is a damage type? when did D&D turn into pokemon Also, Green eyes objectively superior, force damage best damage.
Thunder is the new sonic, poison was already a damage type in non-3.5, psychic saves the trouble of mind-fuck damage spells being weirdly untyped, force damage is no longer be-all-end-all unless dealing with ghosts

Petition to rename thunder/sonic to sanic, please rate agree
