I am using the defensive fighting style, but didn't actually know size gave extra AC too - now it's 21! This is going to be beautiful, can't bonk the gronk.
Nah that was my mistake, size giving AC is one of those holdover situations that I forgot had changed Still pretty funny. Now you need to get to 20 con and multiclass to barbarian to get it to 23
Bummer, 20 will have to do. Can still use the Cower and Beg racial to pull off puppy eyes and impose disadvantage on everything nearby when shit gets rough.
What edition is that? If it's 5e, there's no size AC. If it's PF, then how the heck did you get 20 in a stat at level 1?
5e - rolled 18 for one of the stats and then there's +2 dex from the race.
I figure the 20 in dexterity is evened out by the shit scores in the other stats. 8 Intelligence means it's below average intelligence and 6 charisma along with being a kobold in general means no regular person will like them. That is assuming of course that RP is going to be something they do a lot.
We're playing a thieves guild kind of a campaign, he's one of the two bruisers in the party. Think Marv from Home Alone, except small and more angry. Long story short, it'd be best he doesn't get to handle negotiations.
Snip
It's weird, I feel like for the most part my players had a good session but overall I feel a little disappointed in the game I ran tonight. It was pretty good, but not 'worked on and off for a month' good. Eight hours can sap anyone though I think I'll maybe message a few of them later and get some general feedback.
Pro GM tip Everything you do will always feel worse in practice than what you thought it would be when you were designing it, so don't be surprised if that's the case. This is almost supremely true of combat encounters, especially boss fights, especially especially ones where you thought you came up with clever mechanics that the players then totally ignored While on the inverse, the random shit you didn't think about that gets everyone excited is all the better for it not being planned, so it kind of evens out in the long run In other news, in tonight's D&D session my bard, fresh out of mimic traumatization, drop-kicked an undead knight in the face, pushing him onto a catapult, which I then proceeded to cut the cord of and launch him straight into the sunset
Newbie question: I'm trying to get into D&D and had purchased the 5E starter edition which i've been reading into the rules and abit into the campaign. Due to i am the one trying to get the family to play i'd have to DM the provided campaign. I believe i understand the core rules of the game however with the campaign it just branches off soo much within the town of "phandalin". I'm unsure if i should read it all before hand or wing it/read it as everyone progresses.

Today in my shadowrun game: The group is hired to find a bunch of kids who have gone missing, and while at the house of the latest one to disappear, the Decker finds a security camera video of the kid walking out of the house and following a drone dressed like Santa, headed north. The Decker's player had already called robot santa as a joke, and the infiltrator's player had joked about Santa kidnapped elves(the kid was a dwarf, which is close enough) for a new work force, so you can probably guess how they took this reveal. :v: Also, the mystic adept based on Lo Wang got replaced by a mystic adept based on Bat-Man.

You can have paths branch back into different parts of the story or just completely change how something plays out. If you're playing with new people, you can sometimes easily goad them into the proper direction by having an NPC speak very clearly and bluntly or gently reminding them of character knowledge they might have ("Old Man John did mention to you that the goblin gang was lurking around this cave, and it may be trapped!"). Also just check what your players think DnD should be about. Some players, especially new players, might prefer more combat so you can try to direct them more towards encounters that involve fights.

So, in a recently started pathfinder campaign I got kinda attached with a character, so I decided to commission some art for him, the commission isn't done but so far it's looking really fucking awesome. Meet Yaevinn aén Glass. [t]https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/256346218601381890/260947914363371520/Yaevinn_fullbod2.png[/t]
3D printer arrived. Would try printing out something a little more dnd oriented, but it seems there was a mixup at some point and I got the wrong sized filament. And the test print was cut short by the length of sample filament they gave me.
Barbarian throws the gnome bard over a 20ft gap in a bridge. 60ft drop. He fumbles the throw and the bard lands short barely holding on to the loose rock. The druid flies over as a hawk and attempts to pull him up rolls under DC and I make her also cling on for dear life. I made them roll: Athletics for the throwing Dex saving throw for the bard landing And strength saving throw for the druid pulling him up. Is that right? How would you have done it?

Saving throws are usually when you are reacting to something happening to your character, not when trying to affect other characters.
First session completed and it went super well! Our fighter took out 4 dudes with a bar stool and sick cleave skills, the bard tried to undress some kobolds with her mage hand and the cops didn't ask questions about all the snake bites on the bodies of the drunks. Feel super rewarding to have all the planning pay off with a great time for everyone!

Ha, apparently my friend is on the same wavelength as me. Yesterday in his game the party went up against a giant spider nest, and the day before that my players did the same. [t]http://i.imgur.com/DrVy38m.png[/t]
nice map
nice pokemon abra is top tier
What're you using for such nice maps?
What're you using for such nice maps?
Tiled, which is just a phenomenal editing program on its own, using self-edited sprite sheets from a couple of packs of pokemon tiles. Here's all the ones I've made so far, in order of creation/use. It's insane how fast I can crank them out thanks to the legwork I put into getting the tilesets all set up properly.
Tilesets my ass, if that's PTU the amount of god damned work setting up anything but random wild pokemon is HUGE. Keep it up, trainers are a pain in the ass but it's worth it if you can muscle past it all!

Trainers actually take effort and book-looking, but wild pokemon can be knocked out simply in a few minutes thanks to this wonderful combination of online sheet and roll20 importer. Pick pokemon, pick level, pick stat allocations, use the pokedex to pick its moves and abilities, slap that into roll20 and go.
Does anyone know of a good adventure book for 3.5/Pathfinder that is like a big ass castle/multiple floors Want to run one for the end of my current groups Arc
Does anyone know of a place to find modules or pre-made adventures for Shadowrun? Or even just a thing with ideas for runs? Some of my friends want me to run Shadowrun at some point and I'm (hesitantly) open to the idea but I'm new to the system and setting.

Street, normal, prime? magic focused? decker focused? etc.
