Brace for a massive influx of players, the latest Humble Bundle includes a 4-pack of this fine game.

Took one for a friend, ty very much
never really liked this game until i hopped on and saw they added a bunch of old maps from the mod, as well as that new push gamemode
those two changes finally make it feel like it did in the old mod days and i love it
I feel like you're not playing insurgents right if you don't play Nasheed Saleel Sawarim or something similar in the background. I love this game so much.

survival
How does this game compare in realism or intensity to say, Red Orchestra? I played the mod and liked it, is it similar enough to judge it based on that? Hows the replay value?

Coming from someone who only just got Insurgency but has been recently playing RO2 a lot, I'd say the intensity is the same, if not higher, in Insurgency. Firefights are incredible and can really drag you in when you get two groups facing off. The sound design helps it along a lot, with whizzes and hisses and pings and screams. In terms of gameplay, I haven't played enough INS to say what each mode brings, but it feels like a scaled down RO. Captures happen more often and it's generally faster paced than RO2. It also controls a bit smoother than RO, without as much inertia behind the character, but more so than in CS or something.
Thanks for the recommendation, ere's one for somebody.

At first, I found the ten-point system really limiting-- but it kinda makes you think. Like, at first, I had it as an absolute requirement to have two extra ammo packs, heavy armor, and a red-dot-- then you realize that's already just about all of your money and you have to rethink things.
Makes it all interesting.

I definitely prefer the servers with limited equipment points to the ones that give a ton.

It's pretty simple though, unless you've got a SAW or RPK, or are just spray and pray, you don't need that much ammo, and you're probably not going to live that long anyway.
Personally, I fight pretty light, foregoing armor and ammo for speed; AP ammo, an optic, and a grenade are the most important things to me. After that, weapon handling/accuracy improvements.
my only real requirement is heavy armor unless I am going for a more reserved role like support or sniper.
2x red dot is best dot
Love the sounds in this game. The popping and crackling of nearby shots hitting around you really drive up the tension for me.
I'm amazed that Insurgency is one of the lower-tier rewards in the Humble Bundle. Would have pegged it as more of a "beat the average" or "pay x minimum" reward. Even less as a 4 pack. Not that I'm complaining, the developers are simply extremely generous.
I followed this game since it was a mod, loved it. Finally tried it during the free weekend, loved it even more. Got it from the Humble Bundle and I kind feel of bad since you get the 4-pack with only paying almost nothing.
Today I tried my first online match, Coop Hunt and it was amazing, the team actually stopped to plan, we actually used radio commands and covered our backs. That kind of teamwork is something I have been missing in videogames since a long time ago. I have to try the Survival mode online, it gets really spooky when you get spotted with someone using a flashlight.
All my love to this game.
Hello friends here's some free copies of Insurgency

why is the fn fal sooo goood
It's definitely better than the AK-74. Had a security member eat up three AP bullets yesterday :(
FUCK TEAMKILLERS.
do people even plan
oh my god what server are you playing on
every time I play hunt it is just the survival of the fittest
Everytime I play Ambush, the VIP just runs into battle and each round lasts like 1-2 mins.
Also, is there an FP group for this game? i'd love to play with some facepunchers.
Managed to grab the game. Just got playing and the [sp]surprise insurgent attack[/sp] in training mode was a blast, even when I died couple of times.
Although the mood was killed when the last thing to do was to head for the other guys. Guess why?
Game crashed :v:
Love the game though there's recently been an influx of impatient ass motherfuckers that love to votekick people if they're the last alive and wont kill themselves or win the game in seconds.
definitely not the type of people that need to be playing something like this.
