I have the same problem as BF4 with this game. I have an extremely hard time seeing my enemies and telling insurgents apart from security Muzzle flashes I have no issues with, but usually they mean you're about to die, so yeah :v:
Teammates are usually marked with a bright blue/green diamond. Just make sure your tactical hud is on.
anyone has an extra key i can use/
I'm amazed that Insurgency is one of the lower-tier rewards in the Humble Bundle. Would have pegged it as more of a "beat the average" or "pay x minimum" reward. Even less as a 4 pack. Not that I'm complaining, the developers are simply extremely generous.
Pretty sure they did this because the community isn't that active and it needs more players.
Last game in the group has been nice, but I feel like we need to get more coordination in there, not everyone was actively talking :v:.
soo anyone down for a game tonight? i mean, we do have that steam group, we should use it.
I'm always down for some coop modes, too bad there aren't many servers around here, the only ones that doesn't give me lag are from Brazil they are from the same host and I don't know what is wrong with those servers that sometimes decide to change of map of the middle of match without any advice and then my game gets stuck on the loading screen forever. Like, I put C4, I move to a safe distance and before being able to blow it up POOF loading screen saying the server is changing the map.
Really wish you could change the colour/opacity of the friendly-diamonds. Really hard for me to see, especially when they're obscured.
I like that I see people lag/teleport(including AI...) when everyone in the server has sub 50 ping.
This game has some intensive moments that even my computer can't handle it and it gives me a BSOD :v:

Kicked for joining the game and being the last man standing. Nice. Fun game.
Anyone want to play some Survival? I guess we could muster a few guys from here
if you guys are having problems with equipment loadouts: a chest carrier, the heaviest loadout rig, allows for you to carry a total of three grenades. It's nice to have but that's all it's worth. Unless you're shooting 40mm grenades downrange though or if you're playing co-op and you need room for both, say, frags and incendiary grenades then there's no reason to have it. Chest carriers just slow you down and waste your supply points since you'll never need six magazines worth of ammo. The light chest rig is useful if you're playing pistols only and want to have more magazines than two but want to keep your high mobility. Body armor, chances are, will never do you any favors since most good players (meaning the people that will kill you the most often) are probably sporting AP rounds to begin with. I'd much rather spend two-three points for AP rounds that will drop a guy in one shot or two than having heavy armor that isn't helping me at all Your best loadout is the one that has the highest amount of control, aka a primary weapon that allows you to slap on the most essential mods: a foregrip and AP rounds are pretty much the backbone to what your loadout will consist of. If you can't afford an M4 with a foregrip and AP rounds then make adjustments so you can afford it. The foregrip reduces your vertical recoil on all weapons at a ridiculous scale (and believe it or not, but for security the heavy barrel addon removes like 5% recoil if even. It's useless. Spend that point on an aimpoint or something) A primary rifle with three backup magazines without any kind of chest rigs + a grenade is all you'll ever need, because as said above, you will probably never live long enough to need more than that Armor will maybe prevent a stray bullet from catching you, but the average player aims for direct torso shots and so chances are in two taps you're going to get dropped anyway. Use those points for AP rounds. Always And keep in mind it costs more for pretty much all weapon mods for security. AP rounds especially, so if it costs 4 points for an M4 and 3 for AP rounds and 2 points for a foregrip, just skip it and/or go to another class where primary weapons cost a lot less. It's especially unfair because the insurgent's AKM (the best weapon on their team aside from the two point AKS74U) is free and the AKM outclasses all nato weapons by a landslide [editline]15th November 2014[/editline]
Kicked for joining the game and being the last man standing. Nice. Fun game.
I get votekicked about once a day for trolling and/or cheating because my average KDR is around 10/1 on firefight servers. but i also play insurgency competitively so i guess i'm always at an advantage. the downside about the whole thing is that once you have the game mechanics figured out to a second nature is that all of the tactical charm is just GONE. It's just a glorified objectives based call of duty for me. i can slide in to a room and mop up half a dozen guys with a single mp5 magazine like it's nobody's business without ever saying a peep to my team and while the game leaves the hair on the back of your neck standing up, the project reality esque tac vibe is just no longer there. it's like the original america's army where all of the people playing with m16s and ak47s play it tacticool but everyone else is playing with specops m4s chugging m203s back and forth
doesn't AP do reduced damage against unarmored targets, though? I also was able to tank one or even! two bullets with Heavy Armor (altough the weight increase is prohibitive)
doesn't AP do reduced damage against unarmored targets, though? I also was able to tank one or even! two bullets with Heavy Armor (altough the weight increase is prohibitive)
AP rounds do the same amount of damage to unarmored targets iirc, but even if the damage is reduced it's so miniscule you will never notice. higher firerate weapons like the automatic recoilless laser, the aks74u, can sometimes take up to three shots to drop someone but because of there being no vertical recoil with the foregrip and the massive fire-rate of the weapon you'll dump five-six rounds in to someone before they can even respond to your presence
oh yeah guys here's a great tip for co-op smoke grenades. use these fuckers as much as you can. terrorists can't see through it, and you can sit on the edge of the smokescreen where they're visible to you, but you still remain invisible to them. on top of that, most terrorists carry molotovs with them, so after you've blasted them all you can pick one up to destroy a cache if needed.
oh...so after I bought two copies for me and a random FPer who asked for it in a thread, it decides to go in Humble Bundle with bonus copies for 1$? .......at least I supported the devs!
"ALLUAH ACKBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR ..." "Mezzokoko destroyed Cache Alpha"
dammit, I always miss people posting free keys by like, one hour
"ALLUAH ACKBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR ..." "Mezzokoko destroyed Cache Alpha"
servers should have a rule where if insurgents aren't playing nasheed over their mics then they get auto kicked
dammit, I always miss people posting free keys by like, one hour
Here, take this: https://www.humblebundle.com/?gift=ckXaWnVGDNZXMKFD
What's the difference between the AKM, AK74, FAL, and AK/S? What's the difference between the MK18 and M4A1?
mezzokoko, mind if I upload your killer laugh? :v:
What's the difference between the AKM, AK74, FAL, and AK/S? What's the difference between the MK18 and M4A1?
The AKM is 7.62x39, so more damage and more recoil/muzzle climb, same for the SKS. the AK74 and AKS-74U are 5.45x39 (similar to 5.56) so less damage and less recoil/muzzle climb. The FAL is 7.62x51, same as the M14, so more damage than any other caliber in the game (1-2 shot kills with AP ammo), save shotguns. Best used with optics due to their DMR type abilities. The M4A1 is the carbine version of the M16, with a heavier 14.5 inch barrel, while the MK18 has a 10.3 inch barrel and is comparable to the AKS-74U (with an 8 inch barrel). So basically you get a lighter, more pointable, maneuverable gun, but lose damage.
Here, take this: https://www.humblebundle.com/?gift=ckXaWnVGDNZXMKFD
missed it by like, ten minutes, but got one from FlaktheMighty in the STGYH thread. Thanks anyway, someone's enjoying Insurgency because of you!
