There were none, amazingly. simkas stood on my IED and didn't even flinch.
He was all over the ceiling though.
Well I did stand on the IED at one point and someone shot it. :I
C4/IED is the best shortrange grenade ...
I love how heavy duty explosives (C4 / IED / RPG) just instagib whatever's in range
They were way stronger back in the day though, and you carried two of them. It was like that until I started heavily abusing that, to lay huge insane death traps on critical objectives.
:v:
Why do the attackers get less reinforcements than the defenders in Push? Surely it should be the attackers that have more but limited whereas defenders get less but restock every objective? At least that way the matches would last longer, unless you get somewhat evenly balanced teams it's just a complete shutout most of the time.

Nah, that was Wolfe, when it got shot.

push is just a horrible game-mode. avoid it like the plague and enjoy the game for what it really is: not a pointless deathmatch shootemup
[editline]16th November 2014[/editline]
also the best c4 kills are when you have it upstairs above the objective and someone tosses a grenade upstairs while breaching downstairs. Their grenade effectively detonates the explosives and the splash damage just destroys them from the ceiling, thus making them have a glorious suicide
Anyone up for some Co-op? would be cool if we got a full party.
Do we have a Facepunch Insurgency group?
Right in the op http://steamcommunity.com/groups/fpinsurgency

I personally don't like coop that much. The AI doesn't react that intelligently, its only strength is its sheer mass of enemies. I prefer PvP fights which actually involve tactics (if you have a proper team).
the AI is a lot smarter than it used to be by an enormous margin. It's not counter-strike tier artificial intelligence yet but it still makes co-op a really fun gamemode. You just have to find the middleground in terms of difficulty; depending on who plays some difficulties might be ridiculously easy and others might have the bots firing with pinpoint accuracy and inhuman reflexes
i myself absolutely love survival over the hunt missions since hunt because super linear and a little TOO easy, but survival always has something going on

I wish there were more survival maps, though. The two that they do have are really easy if you just sprint to the next objective straight away. I wish it forced you to play it a little slower and more cautiously.
yeah, market is super exploitable because all you have to do is bravo-foxtrot-gulf every time and it refreshes the caches so you can just run in a circle around the map and constantly capture objectives
survival has a lot of potential and i really hope it takes off in the future. right now it's really limiting because the security forces always have the same loadouts too so you don't get a lot of variety with the opposition. although that's fine by me because you can be level 1 and find an m249 on the ground. upgrading from a pistol to a 200 round mancannon? i'll take it
Coop would be more appealing to me, if the maps objectives were more dynamic and random. I am kinda thinking into a payday-esque direction.

i find the ai in insurgency better than counter-strike

I'd love a Payday-esque gamemode where you plan ambushes/attacks. It sounds fun and there aren't really any games that've done it to my knowledge, other than milsims and shit.
It would probably be kind of fucked up to do terrorist-y stuff but if you think about it how is Payday not already a terrorist-y game? Bunch of dudes, some of them immigrants, blow shit up and kill thousands and thousands of law enforcers.
I was playing Panj Hunt, first round, everyone died at the start and managed to kill 20 of 25 enemies. That awesome feel. Second round people learned to cover each other, only to end our lifes by a bot using a RPG, I hate those. Peak is challenge to do, you have to watch all your corners, we managed to kill everyone but nobody used explosives and the enemy body didn't molotovs too and we lose for that, then we managed to win but didn't got the achievement.

I do agree, as soon you get a full team the gamemode become a rush mode. Is fun playing with 2-3 players.
the biggest problem with co-op is that the game is literally throwing bots at you in waves. which poses numerous problems because you face minimal opposition with a full group:
for starters, the bots are limited in both their navigation and numbers. the game spawns maybe 12 to about 18 or so bots at a time which might sound like a threatening number, but they're often just dropped in at the same exact location and so their pathfinding tells them to take the same exact route to wherever they need to go. this means you end up wiping out a line of enemies and practically destroy their entire reinforcements
another thing is that the navigation for bots is really straightforward they don't ever try to flank you or anything. they just stand in the open and return fire. cover doesn't exist for them. they'll just walk towards gunshots and fire at players
i think hunt needs a rework so it's like strike: there's a random weapon cache in the map and you have a short amount of time to find it. you've got three or four possible locations to check to destroy the cache, but you're always being attacked from constantly spawning waves of enemies. in hunt and even survival the dozen or eighteen or whatever bots on the map are IT. Once you wipe them out they stay gone until you capture or destroy an objective, and then another dozen spawn in. If they just keep constantly spawning in after dying you'll essentially have to work against impossible numbers of enemies that spawn in absolutely random locations dotted around the map at all times which would make co-op way more fun imho
co-op should have that black hawk down vibe where you're simply just facing an overwhelming force; not a handful of people at a time
custom maps are hella fun though

are you playing on the easiest difficulty? bots always have 2-3 guys flank on brutal.

On brutal they snipe you through wooden planks from behind.
Hmm, got an idea. We need someone with great mapping talent and someone to host a server. Basicly make a custom map with the few coopgamemodes available, but make it huge as fuck, about as big as a few gmod rp maps. I used to play a lot of modified TTT on such, and it is amazing how simple things like size affect the tactical depth of a game. We probably can't just use gmod maps, since they are missing ai spawn- and waypoints.
Checking if Workshop already has hugescalemaps.

Coop as Security, invading a corporate building, which has been refunctioned to an operation base by insurgents. Mission is to assassinate the leader, get intel or destroy something. This could make really nice use of silenced weapons and even snipers, if you pay attention to the patrols.
might as well play arma then
We just need func_vehicle added to the game, the rest is up to our imagination :o
Terrorist-y stuff against military shouldn't be a problem.
You know what would be cool? A coop mode for terrorists where you try to blow up an army base. Even more so if you had cars and car bombs.
And asking for a lot/dreaming part, a really long lasting PVP game mode, maybe one hour. wehre terrorists start with only knives, and security full gear but no respawn. Where there are civilians in town for terrorists to blend in. And terrorists will need to smuggle in guns and build ammo caches. And security will try to prevent that. The ultimate would be terrorists trying to flush out security from town with newly acquired weapons for victory.
Won't ever happen, ofc.
You should play Project Reality Insurgency if you have Battlefield 2.
still waiting for that suicide bomber class
still waiting for that suicide bomber class
we're all waiting for that one, especially for push

Would holding down M1 with the grenade and running into enemies work?
