Stay close to friends and watch backs, always carry an incendiary item or c4 in case you have to destroy something, if you don't have enough points for them you can always pick them from dead enemies.

So if you have a vague feel for where that is it's basically unnecessary[/QUOTE] doesn't seem like it at all, i've done both keeping somebody in the center of my screen and tracking them with the sights when they're brought up, and it always seems like the gun shoots where the sights are pointed, so if you shoot while bringing your sights up it'll shoot towards the bottom of the screen.

i've been thinking about rigging some russian playermodels but i'm far too impatient to do it. especially because nine servers out of ten have sv_pure set to 1, which means you can use custom guns and base player skins but still can't modify player models since most server admins don't modify the vanilla whitelist file it's dumb that you can't use modified .vmts or even NORMAL MAPS who's idea was this?? you're not going to stop cheaters from cheating by blacklisting edited playermodel vmts

Is there a cancel button when you connect to a server? I find it annoying when I join a bad server and can't disconnect like in other source games.

I'm pretty sure there's a way to have a theater force custom content, so we could split it up into packages for a download.

As for existing VMT/VTF restrictions in place, we're probably not going to change that. It does stop cheaters from placing a custom VMT that could easily be abused ($selfillum, using UnlitGeneric, etc). Some people even think the current restrictions are too liberal. Rounds for the GP-25 are counted as primary ammunition, so it's impossible to increase their count independently of rifle magazines, as many vests do (eg, lifchik B). I found that classifying the GP-25 as "explosive" kind of fixes it, but it lacks the nice weapon selection in the UI that implies the GP-25 is connected to the AK. sorry for writing it in such a harsh tone, was kind of mad as it kept me up for some hours, I think in general the devs have done a good job, except I'm not really a fan of some decisions made in coding and modeling. For example I'd like the ability to select utilization for individual pouches on a chest rig, so you could store a makarov magazine, f1 grenade, etc in a side pouch on a chest rig, stuff like that, and it could possibly eliminate the entire problem I had earlier. But that opens a lot of balance issues for the base game... and I'm not really worrying about balance at all/

- me and mezzokoko found out that the M9 has still the exact same UV layout as before, but the texture resolution itself doubled So yeah, old M9 skins will work just fine provided you scale them

It really isn't hard to throw AKs at both teams and tell them to go fight each other, and make it a theater.

Some people even think the current restrictions are too liberal.[/QUOTE] just so you know there's a commands that essentially turns the game in to fullbright and not only do all you have to do is make player skins a solid color but it also turns the night maps in to day time maps. not that you already don't know this. the fact the commands have been lingering around in the console since every update since the beginning is pretty upsetting tl;dr not being able to modify .vmts is only stopping extremely dumb people from cheating that being said though, insurgency is my all-time favorite game. i really hope you guys are doing more for competitive playing. It kind of feels like the boys and girls over at the DGL have a giant wishlist and I'm seeing more and more CSGO players checking out what the competitive play is like. THAT'S your market right there. I know you guys just made the game so you can play it, but the unfortunate truth is that the game isn't project reality. I got this from a friend in the Humble Bundle because I remember playing the original mod. Still seems fun, but also more polished, but I only played one or two games with bots to get my bearings. Is online still full of people who are fiendishly good because they've been playing the game for years? (That seems to be the norm for games with low population, like Neotokyo and the likes, everyone who you find playing it has been at it for years and they all play on servers with friends they know from playing the game and so they know all the ins and outs of maps and all the little tricks to give you an edge)

it's weird that pretty much the only model in the game that even has a lightwarp texture is the insurgent hands
