very, always load out w/ it
very, always load out w/ it
Eh, but everybody dies in 1 or 2 shots?
Eh, but everybody dies in 1 or 2 shots?
As was explained before, it's the difference between 1 or 2 shots at long range and 3 or 4 shots at long range.
Does this have ballistics?
Does this have ballistics?
The hl2 mod did have them. So, i'm gonna go with yes?
I don't think there's any bullet drop to account for, pretty sure it's all hitscan.
I don't think there's any bullet drop to account for, pretty sure it's all hitscan.
which is fairly accurate, since no map is large enough for bullet drop to be an issue or travel time to be taken into account. [editline]15th December 2014[/editline] or maybe it's just a source engine limitations who knows?????

It was done in that weird other mod (the one with all the skins from CS:S and like penetration damage extreme modeling), but that mod was glitchy as hell
Yeah I was kinda surprised that there was no bullet drop when I first started playing, but I guessed it had something to do with source
you wouldn't even notice bullet drop until like 200 meters out
calling a M1911A1 with a modified skin a M45 is kinda silly the M45 CQBP has enough visual and model differences to make it look significantly different for the end user, in a FPS.
The M45 in game is slightly closer to an old model MEU(SOC) pistol, which was formally (but infrequently) referred to as the M45. Note the rear sights, which were custom made within the Marine Corps, and the Commander style hammer. Some of the old model MEU(SOC)s had forward cocking serrations, others did not. AFAIK they all had the King's Gun Works grip safety, Videcki trigger, and a flat mainspring housing, none of which are featured on the Insurgency models, unfortunately. The M1911 ingame is just a reskin, which is kind of unrealistic as I've never heard of any MEU(SOC)s falling into enemy hands or making it onto the open market.
you wouldn't even notice bullet drop until like 200 meters out
i.e. distances on a map like sinjar
i.e. distances on a map like sinjar
75-100 at most
Okay, so I just finished three rounds on Buhriz as sec forces and it fucking sucked. It's a total campfest and the defenders have way too many vantage points, and the initial valley with that bridge overpass is so open with little to no cover available from crackshot snackbars.
Can't for the life of me play this. People are far too skilled. Even going prone or crouching to get everywhere, I get near insta-killed. My best rounds, I'll be able to shoot a person once or twice before I'm killed myself. Respect to people who can actually survive a round in this game.
Buhriz and Sinjar have shitty opening sections for Security, but once you push past A you're pretty much set.
i.e. distances on a map like sinjar
you can get longer shots off on buhriz, and even then the "long range" in that map is sub 100 meters since not every single one of your bullets is a flashy tracer like in battlefield 3, bullet drop wouldn't even do you any favors since you'd have no idea where your shots are even going. games like project reality can get away with proper bullet drop because there are engagements that are 300+ meters out all the time [editline]15th December 2014[/editline]
Okay, so I just finished three rounds on Buhriz as sec forces and it fucking sucked. How can you people see anyone in this game. The only times I manage to kill people is if I camp, if I try to move I get killed from fuck knows where. Also this whole reinforcements system is pretty shit, should've at least put a gamemode with instant respawn.
it's a skill you end up acquiring. after playing years of project reality and red orchestra 2 i begun to develop really good target acquisition skills
it's a skill you end up acquiring. after playing years of project reality and red orchestra 2 i begun to develop really good target acquisition skills
In Red Orchestra 2 I can find targets just fine, but not in this game with all these shaders, effects, and all that bullshit on the screen

I suck at estimating distances it seems. I was used to the apparently massive bullet drop in s.t.a.l.k.e.r
^don't play pvp
that's literally 50% of this game

Best to just crouch and use cover since proning makes you a sitting duck.
also proning is kind of awful tbh. Best to just crouch and use cover since proning makes you a sitting duck.
Only time you'd ever really want to prone is if you're behind shallow cover or if you're camped out in the most well-concealed spot in the map. That or if you're hiding inside bodies, I've been caught by that a few times before.

How do you tag enemies?
How do you tag enemies?
The same way you mark where you are going to move, pressing C. Keep in mind doesn't mark enemies just the place where you are aiming.
In Red Orchestra 2 I can find targets just fine, but not in this game with all these shaders, effects, and all that bullshit on the screen
I played RO2 and I disagree, dear sir Maybe it is source engine, or terrorist clothes not being uniform, or security clothes blending with terrain. I confirm it is slightly harder, and also without shift-cheat it is really harder, but normal iron sights in this game isn't really that harder than RO2. It is simply different, acquired skill, as elitehakor said. [editline]17th December 2014[/editline] A matter of getting used to
