I don't understand the M40A1, it weighs more than the M14, I think costs more, comes with less overall ammo; really what's the point in it? Supposedly it's more accurate, but I don't really think it justifies it.

In public there is no reason why you would prefer the manual bolt over the semi-automatic, since you can slap all scopes on everything.
it doesn't take multiple body shots with ap to kill.
Neither does the M14 on Insurgents, who in most cases wear Light to no armor.
I never use a scope on Insurgency, and I find that most of the time it generally just isn't necessary.
wow. For weeks I've been playing this game, and ever since yesterday I've been getting random crashes and sometimes it starts up and I can't get over 10 fps.
7x is useless on almost all of the maps
This is the only game where I wish more servers would remove the sniper role. It's just really under powered and it sucks if you get stuck having to play as it.
Buhriz is the only good map for sniping
Sinjar has some decent spots, but not many. They're mostly oriented along the roadways on each side of the map; not a whole lot of sniping chances in the core of the map.
7x is useless on almost all of the maps
Yeah, but on that theater there is only one sniper kit and it is not necessary to take it. Since it is very special I made its squad shrink down to two units, since snipers (atleast are supposed to) stay out of the active combat area and support from far away. I just blame rambo kiddies for misusing it most of the times when it is actually not needed and a DM does the job much better. Also NWI a little bit for having a weird way of restricting certain assets to classes.

Update time! This one is big, almost one gb of size. http://steamcommunity.com/games/insurgency/announcements/detail/213130600438309970
i still want an objective mode for verticality
Seems they've fixed quite a few map exploits, which is rather nice.
0/10 didnt add uzi m16a1 thompson or desert eagle [editline]21st February 2015[/editline] i'm glad to see map fixes though. that's always good to see. and the competitive support is obviously really nice too. it's good to see they're finally acknowledging a large sliver of the playerbase. interstellar marines is starting to notice popularity in comp teams and matches. it's definitely nice that the top set of tactical games are starting to gear themselves towards audiences that will no doubt generate a larger community
Hey, IDK if that guy from the Dev team still posts here, but for some reason AVG seems to think insurgency.exe is a virus.
So I bought this game a while ago when it was on sale and I was really bad at it, just got back into it because it seems really fun but I still suck. I know this is vague but does anyone here have tips to help me get gud? Everyone seems to have better aim than I do, I can barely hit static targets with all the recoil, let alone before they hit me. If it helps I'm also horrible at every other FPS.
When in doubt, only use semi-auto and don't spam your target.
Peak: Several gameplay improvements throughout the map. Reconstructed center hill objective area to be more of a firebase instead of ruins. Improved rock collision model. Additional clipping pass, to improve player movement. Added block los brushes, to make it harder for bots to see through trees.
I wonder if they've managed to patch out how shitty the map is.
Finally after getting my new pc, I played this religiously the last few days. It is very addictive and satisfying, especially the lethal combat. Also just now I played on a night map for the first time and it was absolutely insane, it is a fucking lightshow. It does not help that people throw flares, molotovs and flashbangs around. Even the muzzle flash makes you just blind.

It's so refreshing playing a game like this after constantly getting games like call of duty and battlefield, even if it can be more annoying than them at times. I'm personally finding coop more fun than the PVP gamemodes. [editline]4th March 2015[/editline] Is the chat box meant to be really small? I can only see like 2 lines of chat before scrolling and I can't see any settings to change it.
So i started playing this again recently and is it just me or has the AI gotten worse since launch? Like i remember it being pretty decent and challenging but not impossible but now i constantly see Insurgents walking backwards or suddenly spinning around and killing me instantly from the other side of the map or conversely just standing there like a lemon or taking random potshots at close range and never hitting me, it's bonkers. Seriously, in the past week i've had maybe three co-op games that i've won, most of the losses we haven't even gotten past the first or second objectives. I dunno, i still love the game but the AI has gotten to be terrible.

There's a mod on the workshop that slaps BFBC2 weapon sounds on the Insurgency weapons Don't you love it when modding is a thing <3
idk what it was like 'at launch' but atm pretty much every server sets the bots to the highest difficulty, it's not impossible but it's a real reaction-time check
bots were horribly retarded at launch the way they are now is a big improvement, even if they moonwalk half the map and then zap you in the head from 3 miles away. also a lot of servers either have difficulty at the highest or modded to be even more difficult (like you absolutely have to shoot them as soon as you see them, three shots from them and you're dead basically).
What I remember most about bots early on was that sometimes they didn't shoot at the odd player. Like one guy for a whole game would just not take a hit, like he were invisible. Everyone else would get wrecked and have to wait for some random guy to complete the map, usually not realising he wasn't the top gun he thought he was.
Is it me or is the community in-game absolutely horrible? I only hear insults and read negative comments all the time in the chat. Although once I got invited to a ts channel to play in a team with them which was neat.
Honestly it's just you. Over here it's mostly "ALLAHU ACKBAR"as insurgent and people actually trying to talk to each other / complimenting VIP kills, etc...
