the community have been farting out some really good mods but it's the SERVER HOSTS That are what really prevent the community from flourishing; not the devs themselves nobody plays customs maps or creates custom theaters. every server is literally the same exact thing as the last. there's hardly anything to differentiate them at all and i think that's what hurts the game the most the game has mod support but there's just no proper integration for the mods, so nobody ends up using them or forcing them. i think it'd be better if the theater system was redone, although i have no idea how you could make that differently. i think it's just too much for server owners to bother adjusting, so they just play with default everything

When I think about it in terms of SMGs i only think the Insurgents need a Mac-10 and an Bizon, other than that i think they have SMGs covered, especially with the recent addition of the Sten gun which is alot of fun to use. As for the Security Forces though, I think theres still room for maybe 3 or 4 more SMGs. Id love to see an MP5 added in myself but id also like to see an MP7 or maybe even a Vector of P90. As for shotguns, i always felt that it would be neat for the insurgents to have an double-barreled shotgun, alongside MAYBE an auto-shotty for the security forces, though i think that might be a little crazy.
we already have tons of mods and models on the workshop for stuff like that. the problem is that no servers want to use theater files to feature them as standalone weapons. you pretty much have to wait for the devs to make new guns because nobody else bothers to make their servers stand out my server had tons of custom guns but i had a really difficult time keeping an active community so i stopped paying for it. it's really not hard to make weapons standalone [editline]6th November 2015[/editline] hell. some of the servers that are [i]still[/i] insanely popular utilize old theater files that don't even include the sterling or model 10. that's how janky the community to this game is

I feel like if things are the way they are currently it would be for the best for NWI to invest time into making new weapons for the base game that fans would be pleased with. But if the theater system really is that powerful, id love to see a server come up that runs custom weapons that play just as well as the ones that are in game currently. But with the way things are right now, it would probably be best with NWI making new weapons themselves if it really is that way. I only just started really playing the game so i never got to experience the theater system, really.
Isn't the theater system just a theater file that dictates class equipment / supply points etc...

The Mac-10 is US made, how and when did ME insurgents ever get their hands on one of those? And a Bizon is also a tad too far. Also the WA2000 you mentioned a post earlier, you do know that's one of the rarest rifles out there right? Oh and the P90, the ammo for that is like buying pure bars of gold. If there should be any more weapons to be added it should be along the line of G3s and AMD-65s or maybe some mgs like the PKM or 240 (although Ins might be a bit too short range for those). Insurgents should also get an SVD (or a ME clone of it) like we had in the original mod! ~ Now what Insurgency really needs is more promotion of teamwork or some sort of cooperation. It's basically every man for himself now. Render me nostalgic but in ye good old mod days Insurgency was set up to be more asymmetrical which helped push players into working together and finding a "tactical" solution to a problem (most of my Steam buddies I met in those times) I don't really see this happening today, most players put all their points in heavy armour and their super 1337 guns leaving out specialist tools like the launchers or heavy explosives which obviously makes capping even more difficult for surrounding teammates and promoting a snipefest even more! These guys should take some notes from PR's Insurgency gamemode imo.. An extra tutorial focusing on the basics of offence and defence could do wonders as well, instead of defending a cap from the rear.. learn players to form a line in-front and inside for example. Oh well /rant The new Gallil is fucken godlike.

I love playing on the brutal bots + bullet time server Best feature HANDS DOWN is the fact it even slows down the VOIP somehow so people can scream allahu ackbar in slow motion
if you're in a bullet time server, you can use cheats while bullet time is active. at least it did when i was on a bullet time server.
My issue with custom maps is they tend to look like trash. Also, some servers have so many mods and extra bullshit it ends up bogging down my framerates. One of the only sv_pure 0 servers is 18 against 91, which is fucking awesome, but it has SO MUCH extra bullshit it takes much longer for things to load between maps and my FPS gets bogged down. The beauty of modding weapons and shit is that players can use their own mods, servers shouldn't force a bunch of shit down throats.

I love the whole more bots thing, but I've never gotten the hang of the armor that makes bots bullet sponges and all the messing around with the inventory. I really miss the 5th (I think?) server, because they had a great system in place with hard bots in high numbers but kept everything else pretty stock. I've always played co-op as a goal oriented horde mode and some servers don't do that well.

(not too sure about the Beowulf, not an AR fan here) By using the games logic a Vintorez or something like that could cost around 3/4 points. They should introduce the Chechen conflict as a theatre to have Spetsnaz gats like that :)
insurgency should just do what hostile intent did and have tons of different theaters packed in to one. in one map, it'd be US rangers versus african militians in somalia and in another map it'd be spanish special forces laying siege to a compound occupied by a european terrorist organization somewhere when the czech republic. the game had tons of theaters and it was awesome just for the depth alone that's honestly all insurgency needs, and i wouldn't put it past the devs to feature that once more content gets included in to the game. but i still blame modders/server hosts for being lazy pieces of shit and neglecting an easily moddable game

I captured it on my own and held out as long as I could, but after 2 waves, which include some insurgents spawning right on top of me, I was caught reloading, after I had already done so and used my pistol, so I had nothing to fight with and died.

We did have a group a long time ago and even assembled for a game. After that it kinda died off rather quickly.

I captured it on my own and held out as long as I could, but after 2 waves, which include some insurgents spawning right on top of me, I was caught reloading, after I had already done so and used my pistol, so I had nothing to fight with and died.[/QUOTE] i never have a problem with running out of ammo in co-op because there's so many rpk guys you can loot guns with 40-50+ bullets from. you just grab an rpk, lay waste to a few guys and grab another one i think once you figure out that strategy you can effectively defend any position solo unless it's one of those servers where the enemies have heavy heavy heavy armor and take half a magazine to go down (fuck those servers) [editline]8th November 2015[/editline] also i was on this server earlier that had freeaim while in iron sights. shit was amazing. i don't know why that's not a default setting for insurgency because it completely changes the pace of the game to what it should be imho. you have to slow down and move cautiously because when you sight up you just can't aim dead center in your screen like you can normally. in the default game i just play it like it's call of duty and i usually top the scoreboard, but with my usual playstyle i was getting absolutely demolished because i couldn't react fast enough since it takes a second to align your sights properly server ip is 23.250.9.26:27115 if you want to try out the server. it's been running co-op recently but they sometimes alternate to pvp. the co-op in this is INTENSE. more so than the servers that have you fighting 90 insurgents
