Free weekend is live, so if you haven't played, you should give it a try!
I just bought the game, is there any info I need to know before playing?

The Free Weekend has gotten a lot of players in with slow reflexes and little yearn to work together so at the moment it can be a bit too messy. COOP is good to practice and get used to weapons.
Also avoid playing as Sec on Panj with all your life unless you have a crack team. Also beware gamemodes with 1 life rounds, they tend to end up with cat and mouse scenarios that go on forever.
The free weekend has allowed me to play as Rambo on Security, it's great.
wow I got kicked from a server because a person team killed me and then a guy started a vote to kick me. fucking retards
How many GBs is the game?
playing with all these ftpers is too much fun, hopped to #1 using a mk18 like 3 games in a row no problem. they're all so slow c:
it's awesome seeing the influx of people, went from being like 800 playing to over 7000

10,000

So many full servers!
Too bad most of the new guys give 0.000 shits about objectives.
Spamming "Move to location" seems to work though.
Gamemode: Skirmish on Siege, playing as Insurgent.
Both teams didnt have any waves left, so rather than capping objectives, security camped on their 2nd objective, while leaving their weapon cache unguarded. I was the last man standing and didn't have any explosives on me, and I knew, I wouldn't survive the encounter with SEC. So basicly I started scavenging the map. I finally found two grenades, ran back to the weapon cache, blew it up, respawned my team, and they did the rest.
This game is so fuckin great.
I do like this game. I actually bought it during the Steam sale but never got a chance to play it (no GPU). Skirmish is probably my favorite mode as it's just like Firefight but a little more interesting and matches last longer.
My only gripe is that I wish there were more weapons. It'd be cool if they gave the Scar-H to security, and maybe an old m16 variant to the insurgents (I've seen videos of ISIS killing people with M16A2s). More pistols? Add a tokarev for insurgents, and a glock/USP for security.
I sadly couldn't get to this game in time, it pretty much looked like a modern day RO2, which I'd love
Only one hour left on the trial. Can't manage the DL

It's still seven dollars. You can still get it!

Don't want to buy something I could regret
Don't want to buy something I could regret
Why would you regret it? The game seems to be getting regular updates, and it is quite fun to play. You said it is kind of like a modern day RO2 which I agree with to an extent. RO2 is great and I already put 170 hours into that game.
Is it just me or is co-op searching broken? When I search for a game it puts me in a regular match.
If you enjoy RO2 you will enjoy this.

Same for me.
Wish there were more maps for this. Or rather wish people would stop voting heights/panj all the time.
Coop search finds maybe 5 games
You can see them all in the browser though
Does anyone actually use the search feature? Server browser is the way to go for all games.
Just bought it because I hear nothing but good things from this and I am a sucker for free aiming deadzone realistic type of games.
Will report back on how good I think it is.

anything I should setup ingame or know that is important?
bf convinced me to buy this game while it was on sale and i have to say that it's really good. working with people to a point is amazing
i tend to stick with the m1a1 a lot. i know a few people that use it and bind the mousewheel to fire :v:
Is anyone else having a problem where their anti-virus is saying the executable for this game is a trojan?
We should make a facepunch squad and pwn all the noobs goin lone ranger.
A lot of servers use reserved slots. It's up to you to figure out what that means for game searching :v:
anyone just get a 125 MB update?
anyone just get a 125 MB update?
Yeah, no idea what it is.
Fixes stats not collecting from playing on linux servers
I bought it yesterday, loved it and convinced my brother and a friend to buy it aswell.
Good games dont need advertisement, they sell by being good
Does anyone remember playing the mod around the time it first came out? It was pretty good then. They've come a long way since then and it's good that they're having success.
I'd still like to see more weapons. Give the insurgents a G3 and security a scar-h.

A suicide vest would be awesome for insurgents.
And some Snackbaring.
allah hu ackbar
All I remember about the old mod is it being a complete clusterfuck with some real annoying level design cliches.
From what I've played, I'd say it's made leaps and bounds since the old days.
