[editline]24th March 2012[/editline] I struggled with the RCT2 base campaigns but then I imported the RCT1 campaigns and it was awesome.
Anybody know a place where I can get mods for RCT2?
Get RCT2. The scenarios for RCT1 can be found somewhere since RCT2 is architecture wise exactly the same, and RCT2 has simply more of everything
You can't build everything on a single map in RCT2, you cant have people pay for the entrance fee and rides at the same time, and the scenarios limit you to things like getting a certain park value, building a number of rollercoasters with X excitement, and others. IMO, the RCT2 scenarios are too difficult and forces you into linear objectives rather than letting you do what you want. Because of this I'd recommend RCT1 more than RCT2.
Also RCT will just give you a black screen on alot of computers. (Including mine)

Bought RCT2+expansions, then found my RCT1 disk.
It's on GOG? READY THE DEBIT CARD
Get the GOG version, it works perfectly for me on my W7 machine.
I have it, I've made sure it's got the right compatability settings and I'm running my PC in 16-bit colours.
I just wish the GOG version had fullscreen support. The game was made when CRT monitors were used with 99% of computers, so there really isn't support for widescreen or larger monitors without stretching the screen.
On windows 7, run RCT and RCT2 on Windows XP Service Pack 2 compatibility mode with administrator privileges, and it will run perfectly fine. (Interestingly enough, I had just installed this game this morning.)
It's on GOG? READY THE DEBIT CARD
Yep, $2.99 for the deluxe version http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/rollercoaster_tycoon_deluxe And $4.99 for RCT2 Triple Thrills pack http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/rollercoaster_tycoon_2
>The Dick is too scary for me >I don't feel like riding The Dick >The Dick is too expensive oh god that always made me laugh.
Actually, I'm going to get RCT2 as I've just remembered that the pathfinding in your punters is utterly shit
Rollercoaster Tycoon has the best scenarios. Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 has bad scenarios and odd limits on various things, but has the best custom ride creation. Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 has the worst scenarios, a confusing UI, but the BEST of custom ride design. I would personally recommend RCT1 and the expansions over the rest. Maybe RCT2 if you can find a download link that ports the RCT1 scenarios over.
rct 2 and the stuff from this link http://www.jumpjet.info/RCT2/Steve_Franks/SF.htm there is also an official site with pre designed rides if your feeling lazy
Just made my most exciting custom rollercoaster ever (the black one). [t]http://i.imgur.com/iPJdZ.png[/t] I can't believe I've been playing this game for 13 years.

Found RCT3 at a flea market a few months ago and tried getting into it today. Jesus Christ, it's like a second job. The UI is so... cluttered and overly complicated. I like that there's more control over building the park and coasters but holy shit, you have to jump through so many hoops to get to the fun.

I remember getting this game in a box of Cheerios. The first time people died on my ride I was like holy shit. I had been playing the game for a really long time so the sight of 40 people whipping out of an underground tunnel at 200MPH, then derailing off a hill and flying 50 feet high, only to smash down in a big, fiery explosion really freaked me out. The worst part is when they scream the second before they hit the ground :tinfoil:
That's because it's Rollercoaster Tycoon 3.
Yeah? And? Just felt like expressing my disappointment with it in an RCT thread.
Great timing for a new RCT thread, I started playing RCT3 again a few days ago. I'm also working on a new project: A modern tram.

I've always loved that phrase. ULTRA-EXTREME
fucking yes its dasmatze; aka one of the gods of RCT3 scenery
I've always loved that phrase. ULTRA-EXTREME
Pffft, ultra-extreme is nothing compared to UBER-EXTREME, which apparently exists.

real pros don't use banks
I played this game probably before I even hit 10 years old and I never really did the scenarios. All I did was use cheat codes, try to make badass rides, and try killing people by grabbing them and putting them in water or making unsafe coasters. :c
Ohh shit the nostalga from when I used to play RCT3 and Zoo Tycoon 2. One thing I can remember was when I was doing deathcoasters everywhere in my park (Making coasters that specificly crash into places where peds walk or lead to nowhere but thin air) for some reason I got a award for safest park EVERY TIME I did that. The irony is too obvious to point out.
I remember making a tiny hole/walled box for guests that needed to pee really badly. I put around 400 people in one little box and then placed a bathroom in the box, which costs $20 to use.
