When I was about nine years old, my little sister ran over my RCT1 disc with an office chair. An eye for an eye, disc for a disc- I frisbee'd her Wiggles CD onto the roof. :v:
It's not really an eye for an eye. RCT has a larger value.
i remember running this on an old win 95 machine in my mother's school's library when i was little, i litterally scrambled the computer with it.... i remember building a crazy rollercoaster, then hit go and it ran for 2 seconds, spazzed, then the computer crashed, like for good....
It's not really an eye for an eye. RCT has a larger value.
An eye for some toenail clippings
So I created a new scenario in RCT3 to mimic the infamous Mr. Bones's Wild Ride. Of course no ride can live up to the original's glory, but I wanted to do it for funsies. Lo and behold... [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/wI7Jj3U.jpg[/thumb] Someone is missing the whole point.

Yes, it's happening :v: [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/lPAlBje.jpg[/thumb]
So,I suck at RCT. My coasters are all over the place,I don't do a lot of detailling, etc. But I built a ''Junior Coaster'''. Yeah,''Junior''. (images are all thumbnails, click 'em to make them bigger) [t]http://puu.sh/3qUzr.jpg[/t] Just a small, cute Junior coaster right? [t]http://puu.sh/3qUAl.jpg[/t] Nope. Huge drop. [t]http://puu.sh/3qUBv.jpg[/t] [t]http://puu.sh/3qUCF.jpg[/t] I later built a shitty shack around it to mask it even more. [t]http://puu.sh/3qUE8.jpg[/t] Look at how cute it looks! And now...stats time! [t]http://puu.sh/3qUF5.jpg[/t] [t]http://puu.sh/3qUFK.jpg[/t] [t]http://puu.sh/3qUGB.jpg[/t] [t]http://puu.sh/3qUHk.jpg[/t] And now the rest of the park. If the park looks smaller than before on some photo's,it's because it probably is. These photo's are in reverse order because I am lazy. The red one just launches you up,hangs at the top for a few seconds, then drops you. I didn't find any other RCT megathread,so I kind of wanted to breath some life into this one.
Alright, problem. My RCT2 only detects my WW expansion pack, even though I also installed TT. TT doesnt show up in the main menu, and loading scenarios using it just says ''Unable to load,TT is not installed''. Help would be appreciated :/ [editline]30th June 2013[/editline] Fine, don't automerge then
Ah the nostalgia. I remember that when I was like 6 or 7, i kept building no entry signs on park exit, so the guests couldn't quit.
I have all my disks! Even the expansions. They got scratches, but its on the surface so it doesn't have any effect.
If anyone wants RCT3, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832198099 Free after $15 Rebate + $0.99 Shipping

Only ever had RCT and I still play it from time to time, such a timeless classic. Though I spent years trying to find cheats for it only to find out that the 'proper' cheats are only in every other RCT game and there's no trainer that works for it, that's pretty damn annoying.

I used to use something called "Swiss army knife" or something of the likes. It was amazing. [editline]30th June 2013[/editline] http://www.lott.co.uk/rcttrainers.htm Look for "TRG Swiss Army Knife" Here's another page that's a little more descriptive. http://www.geocities.ws/rctworld2002/dltrainers.html What do you mean by 'proper' cheats? Afaik all RCT games have official cheats where you change the guests' names. http://www.ign.com/cheats/games/rollercoaster-tycoon-pc-10759 IGN isn't the first place where I'd go for cheat codes, but just an example. Years of searching, ~third google result for search terms "rct cheats" :v:
i want rct1 at my native resolution :(

As for the in game cheats, only some work. Annoyingly none of the ones that actually mean anything like R&D or Money.
Have you tried the "8 cars per trainer" ?
anyone have/remember the time twisters pack? i loved doing the space and roman themed maps, something about them really made me play the game more other then it being just more content.
anyone have/remember the time twisters pack? i loved doing the space and roman themed maps, something about them really made me play the game more other then it being just more content.
I loved the skeletons. Swords n' stuff

Have you gotten the latest patch (and remember latest is relative here)?
One thing I love about RCT2 that RCT3 doesn't have is guests that stop to watch attractions and scenery. Make photo's. That kind of stuff. Makes the park feel a bit more alive. Also, anyone have a fix for this yet?
Alright, problem. My RCT2 only detects my WW expansion pack, even though I also installed TT. You know, I posted a huge rant on here about how much RCT3's terrain editor sucks, but just now I realized how to actually make the thing work, so I apologize for being an uninformed douchebag.
Quite the post that was :)
Problem: RCT1 won't go in fullscreen mode because the screen is too big... Any way around this? It's fairly distracting.
You know, I posted a huge rant on here about how much RCT3's terrain editor sucks, but just now I realized how to actually make the thing work, so I apologize for being an uninformed douchebag.
Ok riddle me this: How do I make the terrain not cry about a nanometre of distance between one path and the next, and adamantly refusing to connect again without breaking everything else?
Problem: RCT1 won't go in fullscreen mode because the screen is too big... Any way around this? [editline]4th July 2013[/editline]
Ok riddle me this: How do I make the terrain not cry about a nanometre of distance between one path and the next, and adamantly refusing to connect again without breaking everything else?
I think I ended up using the terrain editing mode that mimics RCT's consistent height changes, along with another tool that smoothed out uneven terrain.
Problem: RCT1 won't go in fullscreen mode because the screen is too big... Any way around this? It's fairly distracting.
You can use a hex editor to get it to 720p. http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/RollerCoaster_Tycoon:_Gold#Widescreen_hack Since I've got a copy to work again, would anyone mind me doing an lp/AAr kind of thing with some scenarios?
Ok riddle me this: How do I make the terrain not cry about a nanometre of distance between one path and the next, and adamantly refusing to connect again without breaking everything else?
Like tgp1994 said, I found that using the tools marked "edit terrain tiles," while in pinch mode allows you to avoid that issue.
You know, I posted a huge rant on here about how much RCT3's terrain editor sucks, but just now I realized how to actually make the thing work, so I apologize for being an uninformed douchebag.
But it does suck.
I need to find my copy of RCT2. It was a special one with every Six Flags park preloaded into it. So, theoretically, I could save a campaign in my local Six Flags (Great Adventure), import that park to RCT3, and enjoy a full 3D recreation of Six Flags Great Adventure, circa early 2000's. See all the neat shit that was there when I was but a wee babby.
Recently found my old disc of RCT1 from when I was 3. Used to play this all the time. Already beat Dynamite Dunes and Forest Frontiers again, forgot how much I enjoyed this game.
I sort of realized playing RCT again - somehow I was able to do the campaigns no sweat when I was a kid. But now, I've found it very difficult to build new rides while staying out of debt. Maybe I cheated a lot as a kid :P
