even though rct2 was my first one, rct3 is my favorite out of all of them
So I was playing Leafy Lake, had everything set up and just needed to wait two more months to win it. To get some extra points I built a dinghy slide. Testing went perfectly fine and the stats were pretty ok so I opened it, then got myself some coffee. Returning to my computer I see the one thing that you did not want to see. A window of my freshly constructed dinghy slide with "Crashed!" underneath it. Of course, a month before scenario was going to end, my park rating plummeted from 900 to about 250. I engage panic mode, hired 10 handymen to cut grass, added a bunch of rides named various combinations of "fuck", "why" and "no" and demolished that dinghy slide. I won it with about 650 park rating, but it was the tensest RCT experience I've had. Not in the least because I didn't want to fail the easiest scenario when you don't count Forest Frontiers.
I just got an award for having the most confusing layout in my park... I didn't even know that was possible :v:
Well look what I found: I'd love to play this as a scenario but to actually build it all by hand...why the fuck would you do that to yourself?

Hmm, speaking of RCT, I recently accomplished this:

Woah woah woah. Hold the fucking phone, ladies and gentlemen! http://store.steampowered.com/news/13392/
Woah woah woah. Hold the fucking phone, ladies and gentlemen! http://store.steampowered.com/news/13392/
Is this just a re-release or does it have any new features?
I imagine it's the same thing.
it's cheaper on gog still, but if you want to run it through steam I guess it's great
Sans included campaign scenarios, is there anything RCT1 has over RCT2?
Does this game work at 2560x1440? lol
Does this game work at 2560x1440? lol
probably not?
Definitely not. [editline]21st May 2014[/editline] Though you can edit the game's EXE to support 720p. Makes the UI and pretty much everything else really tiny though.
Sans included campaign scenarios, is there anything RCT1 has over RCT2?
I've been kind of wondering this, too. Somehow I ended up skipping RCT2 and going straight to RCT3, so I've never had the experience of the second one. I believe there are also new attractions, shops, scenery items, etc. But any changes in mechanics?
Sans included campaign scenarios, is there anything RCT1 has over RCT2?
Honestly, just get RCT2. Somebody already ported the whole RCT1 campaign to RCT2 anyways so you can play it but with the updated features. Hell someone even ported all the RCT1 and RCT2 campaigns to 3 as well, and they're quite well done for what they are (they even took the time to make the terrain exactly the same as the older games, but the scenery is different because of course the scenery is completely different between the older games and the newer ones)

Do you have a link?
Holy coasters Batman, I've got to see this. Do you have a link?
It took me a while to find it, but thankfully someone else posted it earlier, enjoy! Not all of them were ported apparently, but the main RCT1 and RCT2 campaigns (minus the six flag parks) have been.
The only things RCT1 does better are the scenarios and the nostalgia factor. But since all scenarios have been ported, (for RCT3 as well) there's not much left of what makes RCT1 more worth than 2.

But any changes in mechanics?
There are two times as many frames for the lateral rotation of tracked rides resulting in smoother movements.
Took them long enough for this, that's pretty odd, but still nice of them.
Oh god, it still has the Six Flags parks. I live a half hour away from Great Adventure, this is gonna be a super nostalgia trip for me. I was terrified of coasters as a kid, I'd go into the Great Adventure campaign and watch the virtual versions of Skull Mountain and Nitro.
Not sure if this has been posted before, but:
The new developer blog post...
The first thing we did was create an all-3D-based coaster building tool and converted all of our coasters to be fully spline-based. This means that each track now has a “node” on either end that allows you to manipulate it in 3D space!
So.. basically... RCTW has got no-limits style coaster building. This is literally what I have been wanting for years. SOURCE
That article literally sold the game for me. Preordering as soon as possible.
I'm quite dissapointed. It's clear they try to just rush the game out. I assume that from them claiming some features will be implemented after release. Just doesn't sound right to me...

Patches are influenced by the community.

It just screams "hey, this game will be unfinished and maybe even broken when released"...
