Shove in the scenario folder, appears in "Other Parks", i don't remember which two of the four path entry points guests spawns from, the center of the map is marked up with paths, i selected 255 shops, coasters and whatnots, but only the ones i had i mind using at the time i made it, same for scenery sets, so you'll have to live with that.
knock yourself out.
I'm sure I saw a screen shot of the new one and it looked like it has pretty modernised graphics rather than looking an older style, it's just the iPhone app looked awful so I fear this one will to.
I'm no expert, but excitement rating can be increased by making the cars change speed, ie really hilly bits where the cars go fast down the hill but then practically stop at the top, only to accelerate down the next hill again. Stuff like that has always gotten me really high excitement ratings. Going through loops really fast or making sharp turns at high speed do nothing but increase nausea and intensity.
Adding scenery within 5 tiles of the ride increases excitement without increasing intensity or nausea.
Do you mind sharing it? Also, how do I make coasters that aren't butt ugly with a low excitement rating?
Biggest way to boost excitement without making peeps chunder is to tangle all the tracks together and go super close to other rides, paths work too. Rollercoasters that cross over eachother constantly make guests ejaculate money directly into your bank account
just bought the second one on gog... haven't played this since I was a child.
Before you start though, remember... It never ends.
Off the top of my head I do not know of a simple/quick hack to do this, although for games that I want to run in Windowed mode, there's a neat utility on SourceForge called DxWnd, which does that and whole lot of other neat things, really useful for old games.
Thanks,
Just managed to do it with dxwind
I've messed for long hours with dxwind but it seems like all that was needed to be done was setting DirectX version hook to DX7 :v:
I've reached a slight creative... well, clot is probably one way to put it.
I've had the observation tower and carousel smothered in scenery ever since i started working on the park:
[t]http://i.imgur.com/DaXhbAr.jpg[/t]
And it feels stupidly overwhelming ... But i can't think of anything else to put there, and it doesn't look much better without it...
[t]http://i.imgur.com/tbJAf6T.jpg[/t]
Should i keep, revise or remove both?
You should just put back the scenery. It looks awkwardly bare without all the trees and sceneries.
As stupidly overwhelming you might think it is, I think that your initial sceneries are great.

I think the scenery works well with the rest of the park. I especially like what you've done with the staircase up to the observation tower, and all of the underground paths in general.
Are you able to put monorails underground? As it is I think the guests might get bored before they reach the center of the park. Maybe I'm just overestimating its size.

I dunno man ... just feels like there's way too much going on. But i can't think of anything that would look better either.
Like, here's the shit i do on a really good day

But i'm starting to run a little bit thin on the whole logs-everywhere-and-mining-co.

Well, a rough estimation would suggest a distance of 120-130 path lenghts from the outside to the center where stuff happens.
But as for monorails, it was actually the first thing i put down. There's two end-to-end, and two that runs a complete track, with probably 3 or 4 monorail trains on each track. (Green tracks).

Is there an more easy way to create not butt ugly square holes and hills in rct2? Slanting a tile one by one gets quite boring

Damn that's awesome. I once had this idea of putting a monorail in my park so it'll take guest to other section of the park.
I've even thought of making each section of the park with its own theme, sort of like Universal Studios.
Has anyone had a successful attempt in recording their park? For it running on such an old version of DX, ShadowPlay has no idea what to make of it. Fraps?

You can use the windowed mode hack, and with that you can record with stuff like fraps and probably shadowplay.
Can't wait for OpenRCT2
I've had my first big accident in my park finally

I've spawned this stock rollercoaster structure.
After some time i've decided to make it more intensive so without thinking i've increased cart's speed from 30 mph to 60 mph
And this resulted in people getting catapulted before i figuring out what have i done :v:
Can't wait for OpenRCT2
What about the first one? :v:

Yeah, also just big holes for lakes and rivers. I'm using your flatland and doing tile by tile would take for ever
Can't wait for OpenRCT2
you can technically try it out now by forking what they have, there just isn't anything all that amazing as of right now.

you can download trainers (i think the most common one is 8cars) that allow you to use the hill tool in normal gameplay
or use go carts as rollercoaster trains :D

Oh boy the elephant broke down again, better call the mechanic.
Turns out this game does not want to run on Windows 8 without the windowed mode patch.
Which in turn also breaks that trainer/hack thing.
My latest addition:

How will mods work in OpenRTC2? I've made a lot of mods for RCT.
RCT1 on Steam constantly flickers on a black screen (like 2 seconds of game, 4 seconds of blank, alternating) for me, it didn't do that before
Any ideas?
Why are we talking about OpenRCT2? OpenRCT doesn't even have an alpha version yet.
because it's called openrct2
