"Venice" Park
Its people like you that make me want to tear out my hair. I grew up with this game, I play it to this day and I have never once reached this level of amazing designs, working roller coasters, actually being profitable, it just makes me weep out of self shame

[editline]a[/editline] In other news, OpenRCT2 is now apparently stable enough to support multiplayer with very limited crashes and connection issues. Heres a fun gif, the process of designing a park.
if it's stable... time to play RCT with all my friends
So, has anyone heard of this: http://devlog.themeparkitect.com/
So, has anyone heard of this: http://devlog.themeparkitect.com/
I did, i heard two of my friends telling me it's a good game. Might try it one day !
So, has anyone heard of this: http://devlog.themeparkitect.com/
To me, it just looks like a RCT clone with with modern graphics. I really can't see what's special about it.

Planet Coaster is looking too good to be true
it's frontier so expect it to be half baked with 3 full price expansions
It been a while since anyones posted anything so lets see. http://www.rollercoastertycoon.com/rctw-blog-28-flatride-reveal-videos/ RCTW showed off 2 of its flat rides, and what they are showing off is certainly not grandiose. I mean when it comes to RCTW it seems to be moving at a slow pace compared to Planet Coaster. I have more hopes riding on planet coaster, but it is a classic case of lets wait and see. It is funny how RCTW was going to be out in the first quarter of 2015. Now it is one year later, and look how far we have come.

Planet Coaster is looking nice, and Frontier is really showing off what you can do with it. Also has large quantities of actual footage of the game, so that's a plus. I still have a hope for RCTW but my money right now is gonna be with Planet Coaster.
I couldn't find it in the thread, any mention as to when (if?) it'll be released on Steam? Or if you preorder now you'll get a Steam code?
The terrain system in Planet Coaster looks extremely promising.
I couldn't find it in the thread, any mention as to when (if?) it'll be released on Steam? They probably will be putting it up when its closer to release to prevent waiting fatigue or something like that.

Some new stuff about RCTW sprung up in the past couple of days: RCT General Update (+ actual ingame images) http://www.rollercoastertycoon.com/1245-2/ [t]http://www.rollercoastertycoon.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Adrenaline-Meadows-6.jpg[/t] [t]http://www.rollercoastertycoon.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Adrenaline-Meadows-4.jpg[/t] [t]http://www.rollercoastertycoon.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Adrenaline-Meadows-1.jpg[/t] there are more on the site. also there are some articles posted with look-overs of RCTW at Pax http://www.rollercoastertycoon.com/rctw-press-recap-pax-south-2016/ Overall i think it looks...alright. Graphics don't mean everything. Also not a fan of the realistic looking guests. Still have my money on Planet Coaster at the moment, since their game is looking more interesting, creative, and they're actually giving us a lot in terms of updates and the such.
That actually looks a lot better than what we've been given so far, but it doesn't bring anything new to the table. It more or less looks like an RCT3 scenario with CS and a higher polycount.
Coming back for billionth time to play RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 was fun as always. :pudge:
There was an hour long Q&A livestream today with Planet Coaster art director John Laws and some other dude. Mostly going over art direction stuff. There's a lot of footage of the game and concept art shown off so it's worth checking out if you're interested in the game.
-snip-
List of things they mentioned: - So far 4 confirmed themes. Vanilla, Pirates, Fairytale and sci-fi - The game will feature its own food franchises like some burger chain restaurant which should generate immersion. - Peeps will follow for example food signs of a particular franchise when they are hungry. - The alpha will feature only the vanilla theme. Observe the image and notice the statues. These statues are made out of "blueprints" and are a individual object, the pirate itself is a single object and so is the barrel and the footpiece its standing it and when placing these things on top you can melt, merge and forge your own statues and creations and in turn create new objects. The same counts for the building in the background, everything from the windows to the items around it are all separate items. Of course you can save these blueprints and share them with everyone. - There is a giant tentacle animatronic! Another example of the structure and sculpting system, the skull is rock with lamps being put in the eyes to give it detail and the seaweed below represents the teeth. - They kinda sorta confirm mod support but they "will look into it" and the art director continues to get into that their own blueprint system is already really good. - Once again they are super proud of their peeps / AI system that reacts to everything and how detailed it is. - Coastercam is confirmed to a certain degree, they went on how there was a team of lawyers waiting and haha hoho but more details on that in the next stream. - Peeps can wear hats. Hats confirmed. - Lights pop on nicely - Has a very nice lightning engine - Animatronics have actual springs, hydraulics and other behind-the-scenes stuff underneath them for extra detail. - When a employee does it job bad then you need to train them, otherwise customers will be unhappy or que lines will increase. - Darkrides confirmed

Its funny to think that Chris Sawyer made such a huge impact in the tycoon series of games and then just vanished.
I wish Eurogamer asked him for his opinions on OpenTTD and OpenRCT rather than wasting time with legal shit over the trademark. He clearly doesn't care to deal with that stuff.
I wish Eurogamer asked him for his opinions on OpenTTD and OpenRCT rather than wasting time with legal shit over the trademark. He clearly doesn't care to deal with that stuff.
That is actually Atari's doing and not Chris, but like he said he likes to keep his hands off with all that and he himself doesn't do a lot with the franchise. [editline]4th March 2016[/editline] Perhaps he doesn't even it is a issue since i didn't knew it as well.
A mere mention still would have been something, certainly more interesting than the 7-ish trademark questions and 4-ish questions on Atari's treatment of the brand - both of which he makes very clear he doesn't have much interest in being involved in the first time.
New Planet Coaster livestream earlier today. I haven't watched it yet so I don't know what's in it. Meaning, I can't give you a tl;dr yet but I thought I'd just go ahead and post it anyway, for now.
