Can't decide if Lothric Warbanner is pathetically weak even on 40/40 refined or TRC enemies are super resistant to thrust damage.
I find it pretty solid. You have to rely on Leo and the damage buff, but that's most spears really. I've used it quite a bit co-oping the DLC bosses and have been having a pretty good time of it.
Oh god I hate those fucking huge dudes that summon things to attack you. It would seem those things can attack friendly NPCs, so I almost got fucked over at the end of [sp]Lapp[/sp] questline because one of those mages spawned when I was talking to him and its attack damaged US BOTH AAARGHH FUCK.
... YOU MEAN THERE ARE MORE THAN ONE? [editline]Today[/editline] Also, even counting the two DLC, what is arguably the best medium shield in the game, in terms of sheer defense and stability? I've always thought it was a tie between the Golden Crest and the Pontyff Knight shields, but I'm starting to have doubts. (I don't care if it can parry or not: I found out that, while I get able to parry some attacks, I mostly relay on positioning, backstabs and well-timed attacks)

So I've a bit of a problem [sp]I'm playing online, but I'm not getting invaded by the NPCs, making me miss out on their drops[/sp] anyone know why or how to fix?
If you can take on Orphan of Kos, you can take on anything. Nothing in DS3 will ever surpass that boss on the bullshit scale. :v: [editline]derp[/editline] If anyone needs helps with [sp]Gael[/sp], feel free to let me know. I personally don't find him very difficult to deal with.
Still doesn't help there's so much Bloodborne influence that is unhealthy. I sure love rolling a lot versus quickstepping
I wouldn't say it's completely influenced by Bloodborne. The pace of DS3 feels natural, its just about as fast as the series should go. They definitely didn't want players hiding behind shields all day like you could in DS1 and DS2; They wanted to make players mix dodging and blocking. With Bloodborne you're constantly in the bosses face ripping eachother to shreds, rallying all your health, and just going berserk.
Mechanically speaking it feels waaay better than 1 and 2 but you're not fooling me if the constant amount of anime barrage and acrobatics are not a thing from a faster game like Bloodborne which heavily relies on dodges. And i love playing aggressive, less time on a fight, the better for me. I hate 1st phase Pontiff, i hate Friede and at least [sp] 1st phase Gael[/sp] but yeah thank god nobody is Orphan of Kos.
i love bloodborne it is a masterpiece in game design
Theres a few parts of this game that involve enemies relentlessly attacking with no down time and i feel that they just forgot to chill out with enemy stamina bein taken into account after bloodborne
Theres a few parts of this game that involve enemies relentlessly attacking with no down time and i feel that they just forgot to chill out with enemy stamina bein taken into account after bloodborne
fucking npcs that keep dodging forever ds1 did npcs better
Idk about that. DS1 npc's would also let you just spam R1 'til they died.
DS3s do too to an extent. DS2 had the best NPC invasions in its DLC, bar none.
I didn't like DS2 npc invasions either. I think I just don't like fighting npc invaders that much. :v: Maldron still pisses me off and I haven't played DS2 since SotFS came out.
Idk about that. DS1 npc's would also let you just spam R1 'til they died.
I mean, ds1 had poise couldnt spam r1 when you get a dragon tooth in the face ds3 you can spam r1 and stunlock them till they decide they will keep rolling forever until you stop, seems cheaper imo
You should never swing more than two times anyway in DS3. From made it so that you can roll away after getting hit twice from any weapon. You can still kill every npc and a lot of players by just doing 1 2 pause, 1 2 pause, etc.
When it comes to possible future Soulsborne games, I won't get myself involved in an hypotetical Dark Souls IV, because I don't want to experience another Dark Souls II. Althought, even if I don't feel there's the need for a sequel at all, I'd buy a Bloodborne II anyway, on the assumption it'd be Bloodborne
fucking npcs that keep dodging forever ds1 did npcs better
ds1 had most of them player's health with a derpy AI. Havel was the only threatening since he barely loses health, has poise and can 1 shot you and probably the crestfallen since he can parry you. Otherwise i still think ds3 works the best but it's cursed by having way more health than you + ds3 roll.
My favorite thing to do is to just pop a dried finger and a seed of a giant tree by that first bonfire in the Ringed City where all the ghost archers are and just sit back and watch the invaders die.
-snip- If you haven't played the first DLC and beat the second first, the painting cloth will appear on the of the altar in the Cleansing Chapel
Does anyone know why exactly this happens? I guess it's a critical hit spot, but it's not going to do much more damage if only arrows and throwing daggers are the only attacks that can hit it reliably. [vid]https://my.mixtape.moe/qdbtyj.webm[/vid]
The plunging attack is the most reliable move in the game.
Stomp is usually also decent against NPC since they usually can't deal with the armor+knockdown.
I love slamming down NPCs and enemies that are affected by it. The new greathammer feels so good. Also, From seems to have not fixed bosses standing still if you apply multiple status effect. I tried on [sp] Gael[/sp] and it was so pathetic, i felt bad :v:
Now the question is can we cheese [sp]Midir[/sp] with status effects?
Now the question is can we cheese [sp]Midir[/sp] with status effects?
I heard Pestilence Mercury works well
This [Very tame gear spoiler from TRC] is now my favorite armor piece in the entire series. Too bad I guess I'll have to farm the [sp]Ringed Knights[/sp] for it
Call me a wuss, but I honestly prefer the slower combat of Dark Souls to Bloodborne's going-fucking-berserk gameplay. It's still a great game with a SHITLOAD of amazing things in it, I just didn't enjoy it as much as everyone else. Dark Souls III is easily the best for me.
I'm the opposite, I think the aggressive shift in gameplay in Bloodborne was a genius design shift. 3 felt too derivative for me. Speaking of which, the E3 rumour mill is in full swing and Bloodborne 2 is on the supposed E3 roster, take with a mountain of salt obviously.

I definitely had my moments with Father Gascoigne and so on. Ludwig feels so good to fight after learning the patterns, both phases are so different from each other so i kept dying to phase 2 so much.
Got to the [sp]swamp in ringed city[/sp] yesterday and suddenly saw this :disgust:: https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/93854627889386432/48B743CEDD592165E46DE5B711A26D723951254D/ (linked due to armor/weapons spoilers, just in case)
