Dark Weapon scales 100% with Faith, don't go 40/40 unless you're focusing on the damaging spells.
I am going to play a dark based character using dark sorcery.
In terms of difficulty, how does the DS3 DLC compare to the base game? Because I thought DS3 got a lot harder once I beat the dancer
I think The Ringed City is definitely a lot harder From the word "go". The new enemies have you thinking new ways of beating them compared to just hacking and rolling away ie the Hareld Knights, and the locations feel like a maze.
They also have a shit ton more HP.
In terms of difficulty, how does the DS3 DLC compare to the base game? Because I thought DS3 got a lot harder once I beat the dancer
i think it's on part with the base game post dancer, if not harder. parts of it were a game of wits [sp]the adjudicators[/sp], others a game of patience[sp]the FUCKING ANGELS[/sp], with some stretches being ridicolous [sp]the trip between the inner wall bonfire and the swamp is panic inducing the first time around[/sp]. but most enemies are easy to manage if you pay attention to them and your surroundings, which you should be accustomed to with a souls game i might or might not be ashamed to admit i had way more trouble with the [sp]harald knights[/sp] than the [sp]ringed knights[/sp]
I have an habit of sticking around even after I completely cleared a Soulborne game or one of their DLCs to help out other players with the most troublesome bosses, but not even a payment in moolah could motivate me into helping people defeat [sp]Darkeater Midir[/sp]
HOLY SHIT I BEAT THAT BOSS [editline]2nd April 2017[/editline] stupid boss took me 2 hours :/
DLC was laughably easy on 60 INT MLGS character. Except for [sp]Gael[/sp]. Also Old Moonlight is hands down best melee sorcery but as expected - too slow for pvp. Fully charged Old Moonlight with court sorcerer's staff and both sorcery rings does ~638 damage on drakeblood knight.
I've been trying a dark sorcery build in pvp since we have the new dark boosting items. Dear god I can't kill anyone, not for lack of damage either. Its so easy for people to dodge spells and they all take a good while to cast. My pure pyromacer build has no issues in pvp, the spells are fast to cast and have good variety to catch out players. Any of you guys have experience using sorcery or even dark sorcery in pvp with good effect?
I've been co-oping multiple times against [sp] Gael[/sp] I guess i've been finally enjoying helping people, reminds me how i've been endlessly putting summon sign for Fume Knight since i enjoyed that fight. But jesus, 4 people gives so much HP :v:

Basically every thing which takes longer than 0.3s is gonna be dodged with ease given how stamina cheap dodges are. Also fuck huge i-frame window on roll even without bloodring. Still salty about butchered WotG and dumb melee hitbox on lightning spears..
check next to area names at a bonfire for an ember symbol to see if anyones there around your SL [editline]2nd April 2017[/editline] theres not much coop/pvp activity to be had until after high wall really sans summons for the boss right outside the door
I'm finding the dlc entirely impossible after the first boss, everything kills me in 1 1/2 hits at 40 vigor. So I just instantly die if I miss one dodge.
Are you wearing no armor on NG+7?
take off the calamity ring you noob
No that's not it, there's just a ton of enemies that can damage you from a mile away while you barely scratch them with 500 damage.
Nope, just chloranthy, FaP +3, Steel protection +3 and Leo
Guess I found the sweet spot for stats on my Warbanner Lord build for coop. [t]https://my.mixtape.moe/sqxjtb.jpg[/t] Yet I still want a slight ar boost for war banner. More base damage or even let it have A/A at +10 refined.
Use the splitleaf greatsword with heavy infusion.
I think I'm gonna do another SL1 playthrough. I went through the dlc at level 64 and still felt it was pretty easy. Although the swamp might be impossible at that level.
Ive been wanting to play the DS2 DLCs, but I want to play on my existing save and not have to play through the whole game again if I get SotFS. Can I still do the whole thing and get Vendrick's Blessing if I just get the DLCs but not SotFS?
Ive recently been throwing together a bleed build using the crow claws off a char who was originally built for bow-only but I decided to respec. How does the relationship between Luck and bleed build-up actually work? If that much is unknown, is incremental increases in my luck stat going to help that much, or should I just stick to using tons of carthus rouge and just using a sharp infused pair of claws and foregoing luck level ups in favor of dex and other things? i dont know how effective going all-in on bleed is actually gonna be for me here, and i want to know how that option is gonna fare in favor of doing a more vanilla dex build
Luck is invaluable in a bleed build, unless they changed it recently. How-to bleed build - 40 dex, 30 luck Hollow Infusion on main hand and off hand (Each infusion gives you 5 luck, bringing you to 40) Carthus Rouge on innate bleed weapon (Hollow infused of course) - Congratulations, you're cancer! If i remember correctly, extensive testing was done by Oro, and the only respectable bleed build that actually does much of anything is the above, bleed infusion should be stayed far away from and you should always have carthus rouge on hand.
Yet I still want a slight ar boost for war banner. More base damage or even let it have A/A at +10 refined.
You just gotta build around it. The buff lasts until you die to my knowledge, so stack that with something like Pontiff's Right if you're PvEing, try stacking it with Morion Blade and Red Tearstone, the buff stacks with Sacred Oath, etc. I don't really feel like it needs a buff, but everyone has opinions and all. [editline]2nd April 2017[/editline]
Use the splitleaf greatsword with heavy infusion.
Heavy infused Harald Greatsword is pretty beefy too. [editline]2nd April 2017[/editline]
If i remember correctly, extensive testing was done by Oro, and the only respectable bleed build that actually does much of anything is the above, bleed infusion should be stayed far away from and you should always have carthus rouge on hand.
I remember hearing that Bleed infusion was buffed this last patch
I find myself using Onyx Blade less and less. I wonder if I should consider respeccing to fully invest in Demon's Scar instead and use Witch's Locks alongside it since they're both dex-based. [editline]derp[/editline] Holy shit, the respec exploit actually works. :v: [editline]derp[/editline] Oh hey, I can still use the Parting Pyromancy Flame to its full effect despite not having the 15 STR to use it anymore. :v: Weird.
thing is i've been online since the start of the game and embered almost constantly after the first ''boss'', i'm not seeing any signs anywhere unless its NPCs, i see bloodstains and messages just fine so thats why i was wondering if this game had some sorta thing where you can only co-op/pvp after a certain point. i remember being able to do multiplayer just fine and pretty early on in the other games, so thats why i'm a bit confused, maybe its just my game messing up though.
Did you check to see if you accidentally set a password in your options?
Y'know, i really like the [sp]Gael[/sp] bossfight and the whole situation has a lot of lore implications but i still think pound-for-pound the Soul of Cinder is waaaay more impactful. It's definitely what i'd call the culminating bossfight of the series. And man, even now when Gwyn's piano kicks in, just makes me tear up a bit. Nothing beats well done classical orchestra and opera.
After completing The Ringed City, and even if I have other games in my priority list, I don't know if I should stick with Dark Souls III (I do enjoy being summoned as [sp]the Spear of the Church[/sp], and there's always NG+/a dex build character to try out) or replay Dark Souls and/or, *shivers*, Dark Souls II, in order to finally play them "properly" (it's a long story). To be honest, I bled (lol) Bloodborne dry, to the point I already did anything I wanted to do, save for the Calice Dungeons. I'd play a str-arcane or a bloodtinge character just for kicks
I finally ended up drawing the comparison for my distaste with [sp] 1st phase Gael. Reminds me when i fight the Outrider Knights and they are obnoxious. It doesn't remind me of Artorias after all. I ended up mastering that phase but i don't like the fighting style[/sp]
