Lock on, don't lock on it's still a fight against the camera more than anything else It's also one of those bosses that goes from "hard" to "don't even bother" difficulty depending on your build
The Grand Lance build went surprisingly well against it.

hosting a fight club at the foot of the high wall. come get some, bitches
don't lock on ...
Having to not use an integral part of the game that many have used for most of the game in order to fight a boss without frustration is not good boss design and doesn't help in the slightest regarding the boss' huge movement and tendency to even break the lock on by moving so far behind and above you at once. Not to mention weird hitboxes and just annoying attacks that while not hard are just a chore to bother with.
Tbh, you should rarely use lockon in any of the souls games aside from Bloodborne.
I just treat it like a camera reset to center myself back on what I should be focusing before unlocking. Really goddamn handy.
Is anyone else having issues with invasions and summons? I'm getting a ton of instances of invaders are invisible and hosts not getting hit by any attack.
Lag, desynch or stuff like that. Pc version is more frequent and allows more bullshit stuff to happen. Bear in mind ds3 is the game where having lag means that you'll find everything stuck to idle pose, invisible stuff, invincible and unwinnable fights duento lack of hit registration. Worse than ds2 and that game has some baffling lag prowells as well.
Ya but this is literally every invasion or summon I do. I've never had it this bad before. I am getting connected with a bunch of people from singapore though. [editline]9th April 2017[/editline] And now I just got softlocked in the loading screen. DS3 is behaving very weird tonight. :/
It could be their servers or try to reboot your internet. Or just stop playing for a bit and it might work better later. I have this 50/50 chance everytime i do online activity

Man, even after the nerf, the Paired Ringed Greatswords still feel way too powerful in PvP, the fact that getting hit by one hit = getting hit by 3 hits plus their insane base damage makes me shake my head in dismay every time I see them. Of all the enemies I've faced with these damn things, I've only been able to reliably beat two of them. Even with 45 vigour and defensive gear on, I can only ever survive two combos from these swords, and their hitboxes feel absurdly huge, especially for the running double stab attack. I'll be two dodgeroll distances away from the enemy and still get caught by that attack! Like, I get that they're a cool weapon and all, I totally dig the idea of an absurdly huge, massively powerful pair of greatswords... But they're just not fun to fight against. If I get caught in a double swing from a black knight UGS, then yeah, fair game. But with these things I feel like getting clipped by one phantom range strike means you're basically fucked.
Was playing coop with a friend yesterday and we got invaded by a cheater named Eye Eye Captain, who was literally just a pair of floating eyeballs :v:. Sadly I forgot to take a picture.

Oh yeah if you don't mash roll like your life depends on it, the 3rd l1 might as well be a combo because you have half second to roll and even then they can delay the 3rd hit, roll catching. Compares to other ugs, it'sbthe most obnoxious. You can reliably 2 or 3 hit someone with any other ugs but at least their hitboxes are not as fucked as the twin ugs.
Maybe SL120 is too high of a level for the Spear of the Church, 'cuz I rarely ever get summoned now in comparison to the DLC's launch night. Which is weird considering I get summoned as a white phantom in seconds for the boss. I really wanna' know what the invader's matchmaking limit is for this boss. [editline]oh my[/editline] Like, getting summoned as a phantom is piss easy at this level, but good luck getting summoned as a Spear. Greataxes and their vertical slams are great at [sp]Midir[/sp] removal. Just killed him for the first time on ng+1, took me two attempts mostly cause during the first one I was using a greathammer (not recommended). Classic leg-hugging boss tbh, just gotta know when to start running from his fire and blasts. On a completely different note, I'm getting summoned as a bluebro MUCH more often than ever before recently. Farming silver knigths might not be needed after all!

Too many with that covenant but at same time it's instant for the host. I want to believe there are fewer hosts compared to Spears. And seriously, i've never seen such a thing but so many Spears afk, this is sad.
Havels greatshield makes the fight much easier since the poise and resists lets you tank through basically all of his attacks while getting into position to retaliate. My milwood axe usually let me do 700 or so per trade. The only really big problem was his fire to dark explosion that always killed me in one hit. Whenever I got in, it was always just 4 guys ramming their double greatswords into me for 30 seconds.
I dont know why you'd even want to get summoned
New covenant, some want to do just to get the reward, the idea sounds fun etc At least the rewards are terrible so i'm not missing out for me.

low level boss invasions are my new fetish
When you're at such a high level that you can just decide hey fuck it lets scale my gear with luck it feels great scaling the greatsword off of dex/str and luck is just fantastic [editline]9th April 2017[/editline] its amazing but hollow gem does straight up more base and scaled
Shout out to Nidhogg who with his anime swords finally made me go and respec into STR character since DEX was getting boring real fast. Now I'm just slamming dudes left and right, fuck, does it feel good. Going back just to piss on Lothric knights with shields (and to get that sweet full armour set). Also here's Nid just floating for some reason because why the fuck now, I guess [t]https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/159157772977229748/C5BFBE34316C799A5E97B259CCA8F668351EB814/[/t]
DeS question. Should I finish Boletarian Palace first before heading to Stonefang Tunnel? Decided to check out other locations after beating Phalanx but getting my ass blasted by Armored Spider. Feels like being sl15 knight with non-upgraded great club is not a good way to do this boss.
Sounds like you don't know how to handle ganks, then.
nope, not sure what you can do when each hit makes you stagger.
I beat Dark Souls 1 yesterday, then downloaded DS2 having never played it. Wow, I can already tell that I am not going to like DS2 as much as DS1. Something seems off about the controls, they feel less responsive. There's a whole bunch of other issues I'm finding with DS2, but it just might be me not being used to the changes. I've already played 3 hours of it though, so I don't know if I've experienced enough to form a good opinion.

Feels like being sl15 knight with non-upgraded great club is not a good way to do this boss.
At the point you are in the game, after beating Phalanx, you can go as far as the [sp]Tower Knight[/sp] boss fight in Boletarian Palace. After that, your way is locked till you'll kill one of the final bosses of the other levels (which is rather handful, since the final boss of Boletarian Palace is often labelled as the proper final boss of the game). Consider however that, even if you'll manage to beat the Armored Spider, the next boss of the Tunnels, [sp]the Flamelurker[/sp] will eat you alive, so it may be best to level up a bit in the other zones (the first area of the Valley of Defilement is manageable, althought it's only a taste of the pain to come. The first part of the Stormlords area is a nice farming spot if you manage to get the skeletons' attack pattern down, which is easier said than done). As for the Spider, try a weapon with a longer reach and remember it's a puzzle boss
nope, not sure what you can do when each hit makes you stagger.
Memories of a my heavily armored, skirting 70% with Havel's Ring and only carrying a single sword WIDEKNIGHT getting nearly stunlocked to death by a bunch of rats. Really have no idea what they were thinking in Dark Souls 3 with this weird quasi-poise hyperarmor stuff you need a PhD in theoretical game mechanics to get a full grasp on.
nope, not sure what you can do when each hit makes you stagger.
Besides, "handling ganks" gets boring real fuckin' fast when every invasion and boss summon is a gank.
