this is the type of player arby's watcher is
This type of player is arguing that this is OK to do but he'll talk smack about how others play
Arby's also deleted his video of him using that exploit the moment I posted it... he is not hiding anything suspicious at all!
.....which is.....? because apparently i'm wrong that it's supposed to be fun pvp outside of pontiff and the three arenas for the invader and an exciting encounter for the host
Funny how you mention "exciting for the host"
Invasions aren't about pvp. It's not a duel. You are becoming an enemy in another persons world to add some random challenge to it. It's not malicious or overly difficult. I see invading as more of an extension to pve.

Pretty much this yeah
you are breaking into someones safety-zone and trying to murder them against their will.
Though if it was something that applied to boss's people would be even bigger tryhards and pull the shittiest possible tactics. It wouldn't add anything to the game, and it'd really just sour the actual FUN and CHALLENGE of the boss itself by making it 50x harder
Also there's that you as an invader don't lose anything upon death while the host loses Ember, used consumables and maybe souls.
On paper, the purpose of invasions in Demon's Souls was to circumvent the game becoming too easy when summoning allies for help. By adding a hostile player into the mix, it allowed the game world to still keep its challenging difficulty while extra phantoms were present.
That still rings true to this day, and allowing invaders to jump into a boss fight goes against this philosophy as the bosses were already designed to gain increased health and damage when allied phantoms are present.

Your souls stay where you died in hosts world unlike in DaS/DaS2 where they stayed where you used the orb.
Your souls stay where you died in hosts world unlike in DaS/DaS2 where they stayed where you used the orb.
Tbh I wish they didn't do that. Fucking infuriating.

at least soul memory isn't a thing so pfft oh well :v:
Tbh I wish they didn't do that. Fucking infuriating.
Yeah it breaks game flow when you gotta run to your bloodstain to get your souls back before invading again. Sucks.
Fuck soul memory.
Your souls stay where you died in hosts world unlike in DaS/DaS2 where they stayed where you used the orb.
I wish they kept this. It's annoying dying in someone's world and you gotta' run your ass back over there to pick up your souls before invading again.
I typically don't even invade unless I'm grinding a covenant like Moundmakers or Watchdogs. I love pvp but invading just makes me feel bad. Makes me really happy that they added pvp matchmaking to get my fix.
It's actually kind of funny because I love being invaded too even though doing it myself makes me feel bad.

I think Hidetaka Miyazaki personally said on twitter "You know what would really fuck with Niddhog? If he had to jog for his souls"

To add to this, this is why I will never understand people who scream that they only want the co-op experience and no invasions. That is not how the game was designed and it will never be changed.
Summoning your friends for help absolutely destroys the difficulty when you've got 2 allies of equal strength backing you up, and it henceforth goes against the game's philosophy.
This is why invaders exist - to bring the difficulty back into balance.
After all, this IS the reason why most invasions are implemented in a way that you're almost forced to fight ganks (i.e. Sinister Bell maiden in Bloodborne, invading only Embered/ Human form players in DS1, etc.)
But allowing invaders to intrude on a boss fight? That is a different story. These games are all about difficult-but-fair gameplay, and allowing something like that would only tip the favor back to one side, defeating the entire point of this risk-and-reward system.

Being invaded is great but I feel like a douchebag for ganking tbh
I'm not going to stop. I'm a loser.

The dudes after you tbh

look out muscles
Strength run is going amazingly so far.
Cleared all the way from Deacons to Aldritch last night, and I just downed Aldritch this morning. My only concern is that I would be over leveled for most areas, but being level 70 for mid to late game content sounds reasonable.
What is the recommended level range for the DLC packs? I kind of want to start Ashes of Ariandel before the Dancer, but I might have to play it by ear.

Seems most people average around 80-100 for the dlc.
having a level 60 character that's such a high quality build sucks at times, because I WANT to level him for the DLC but it'd just kill the entire point of the build

70-80 would be good for Ashes but you'd probably want to be 80-100 for Ringed City because everything in Ringed City is a damage sponge.
Question about a strength build, when it's a good idea to stop pouring points into STR, or just any stat in general?
I stop putting points into str at 40 since anything beyond that is diminishing returns.
Question about a strength build, when it's a good idea to stop pouring points into STR, or just any stat in general?
50 is the str/dex cap
for my level 220 I pretty much did 50/50 STR/DEX and then scaled with hollow gems the rest of the way (about 38 luck or so)
I also only stop at 40 since I never level above 65.
Tbh scaling with Dex/Str/Luck feels so amazing
you just straight up get higher base+scaling damage
I remember reading that 66 was the hard cap for strength investment due to providing 99 strength from the 50% bomus for two handing.
In any case, I am eagerly awaiting the time when I can pick up Ledo's Great Hammer (with my current Vitality, this is more or less meant literally :v:). With all the twinkling titanite I have saved, I should more or less be able to instantly max upgrade it as soon as I get my hands on it.
Also, best fashion souls for strength builds?

I know I'm late but the only thing that was fun or satisfying about boss invading was salt mail.
The actual kills felt really empty, for obvious reasons.
I only invade as a Moundmaker, and I make it my goal to always go for other phantoms over hosts. Things get a little interesting when a host has two helpers and a second guy invades. I also try and be fair, waiting until the host is done with a hard fight before attacking, and clearing out enemies for them if they use a Seed of a Giant Tree.

tbh that's generally why people hack/cheat/bug in souls games
it's ALL about collecting salt
[editline]11th April 2017[/editline]
Majority of players that boss invade will be doing it for that really
and youtube $$$
anyone else get curious and try using the miracle exploit to use the fingers in someone else's world? i tried it earlier with a friend while doing some jolly cooperation and it gave me the icon in the top left, but we didn't play for long enough to figure out if it was just graphical or if it actually affected his world.
[editline]a[/editline]
using embers for full heals is a good meme though
Seeding someone else's world that way also works. It's not graphical!
What I didn't know is that force-casting purging stones removes hollowing from the host as well
