Dark Souls + Demon's Souls + Bloodborne Megathread XIII. The Ringed City

So, decided to make a new character for the DLC since I haven't played since pre-Ashes...
...Spent an hour making the perfect face, am about to save it to favorites, decide to check what my presets are before overwriting... Don't actually press the select button on any of them, go back...
...And the face was overwritten by one of my previous favorites.
Probably a gripe I should have written about ages ago, but never encountered before.
What the fucking shit, FROMSoft?
Like, seriously, that's no different from hitting "Load Save" in a menu, and it forcing you to load whatever save is presently selected if you decide to back out to the menu instead of actually wanting to load it.
SHIT FUCK COCK GODDAMNIT
Are there any pure Dex weapons in the DLC? Feels like everything I've found is STR or quality or even int.

[sp] yes [/sp] [sp]It's a katana[/sp]

Whereabouts?
I just realised that the [sp]Shared Grave[/sp] is such an obvious reference to Berserk. The place looks exactly like [sp]the dungeon that Griffith was locked into for dicking the princess and where he betrays all his friends, becoming Femto. Not quite far from Lapp, who betrays the Ashen One to become Patches once more.[/sp]
[sp]Too bad we can't se the bottom of the pit to see if it's full of sacrifices.[/sp]
Can I play this dlc in new game+? I don't want to create another character.
Before playing the Ringed City (hopefully this evening), I decided to check the new gear, at the very least.
[sp]The Ringed Knight Straight Sword[/sp] seems to be the only cool/interesting weaponf for my quality build character. Also, but I promised as much since the first trailers, I'll set my mind on acquiring all the pieces from the [sp]Ringed Knight set[/sp].
I'll spoil this one just in case, but this DLC, by the looks of several armor sets, seem to be filled with more [sp]Dark Souls II references[/sp] than the main game
[editline]Today[/editline]
The [sp]Desert Pyromancer[/sp] set is now in the game, for fuck's sake.
Maybe dlc ending spoilers? [sp]I gave the blood of the dark soul to the woman in the ariandel attic. Anything to do after that?[/sp]
[sp]boss soul[/sp] [sp]the dragon[/sp]
[sp]I killed the dragon (or at least knocked it off the bridge) and it didn't drop anything. Is there more to it?[/sp]

Yeah... but you need to get to the final location of the game.
ending boss spoilers
[sp]Good god, I think Gael was just a perfect boss. There were no gimmicks in the fight; just an amazing duel between you and him. I was blown away from how massive and beautiful the arena is too. If we ever get another souls game, I hope it takes notes from this encounter.[/sp]
Man, i've only played 2 hours and it feels already longer than Ariandel. Sure, i took half or full hour in a section but still, impressive visuals of the game.
Yeah... but you need to get to the final location of the game.
If you've finished [sp]AoA there's a special bonfire by Friede's bonfire that warps you to The Dreg Heap[/sp]
Not even 5min into the dlc (I haven't played in months and still had my ember on me), I get invaded by a player and die within a few seconds.

[sp]He's talking about a different dragon[/sp]
I don't like how the DLC ultimately added more questions than it answered, then left us out to dry. It's the final piece of Dark Souls content but it doesn't feel like it.

I can only manage to think back to a quote from one of the people [sp] that ugly ass bug man[/sp] you meet in the DLC and his quote about knowledge:
[sp]"One met the dark with learning. But in the end, learned his knowledge was wanting. The world began without knowledge, and without knowledge will it end. Dost not this ring clear and true?"[/sp]
I feel its almost a reminder that we won't ever find out everything about the lore and history of the setting. Some of it will be lost and the rest speculated and theorized.
This first boss is torturous with it's health bar. [Sp]Demon Pronce has stupid amounts of health and resistances. I literally do half damage. I'm 134 with a quality faith build and I wreck literally everything besides this guy.[/sp]

If you think that boss has a lot of health, you're in for a real treat.
Finished the DLC, it's pretty good :ok:
My only real complaints are [sp]hiding behind walls waiting for enemies to stop shooting at you isn't that exciting, and the bosses have a fuckton of HP, jesus christ. My successful Gael and Midir fights took like 20 minutes each in NG++, or at least it felt like an eternity[/sp]
Yeah... but you need to get to the final location of the game.
What about pickups? Aren't they different in new game+?

Yeah it's so dumb, i guess From took the "omg health too low" complaint and turned it 900% more.
And that's not even NG+
Can't wait to see someone beat the last boss NG+7 SL1 fists only. That fight would last an hour.
Fuck [sp]Gael[/sp]. Literally an Orphan of Kos ripoff in terms of how stupidly unfair the whole fight is.
I don't really think [sp]Gael is that unfair. All his moves seem pretty fairly telegraphed and dodging them is intuitive. I'm not a fan of how much he moves around in the third phase and his frankly ridiculous amount of health, though. It feels like he could have had half as much health and still have been a pretty credible threat[/sp].
While I thought [sp] Gael [/sp] was a thoroughly great fight from beginning to end, I found it extremely underwhelming as far as [sp] Being essentially the FINAL boss [/sp] of Dark Souls III, I wanted something or someone that would've been more than [sp] a dude on a mission we met a DLC ago [/sp] Could've been anything else really, they might aswell have just thrown in a completely random dude and it would've been the same empty feeling I got from it.
why is the final boss of dark souls a [sp] buff santa clause nobody[/sp]
he was a cool fight but i guess i was kinda hoping for something else
I guess I was right, this DLC doesn't have a proper ending.
\
[sp] I don't give a shiiit about the boss though, he exists purely for the DLC and is a fucking old man who cheats. Great, totally what I wanted as the final boss of Dark Souls[/sp]

[sp]"We spend three games fighting monsters, the undead, demons, dragons, fallen knights, the abyss, a wolf, giants, gods, and kings. We killed the God of War, the Lord of Cinder, and the First of the Dead. The serpents are gone, the Everlasting Dragons are no more. Who is there to fight anymore? A decrepit slave. A man so old that his order is forgotten and even their magic is lost to time. He's scared and weak. Because, Dark Souls is a world in decay, and eventually the Gods, the Demons, the Dragons, and the Angels are gone. Gael is the final boss because in the dying world, he's all that's left. That's why this is the end."[/sp]
honestly i am really happy with the final boss and the more i think about it the more i am in love with fact that it's just [sp]a decrepit old man. a frightened slave and a corpse that wasn't even good enough to burn are the two things that make it to the very end. he is the closest thing to your equal and it feels fitting that this is how the trilogy ends. feels a lot like the gehrman fight in bloodborne.[/sp]
[sp]giving the blood to the painter girl was incredibly underwhelming though.[/sp]
