WOOO! We're back, babeh'! And just in time... Nameless... motherfucking... KING. I CAN'T believe it only took me like six tries pull it off. Intimidating at first, but his pet really isn't much to deal with after the second go. Roll through the fire, mind his sword strikes. That, and a shield with 87% lightning absorption, thunder ring and some yellow bug pellets to negate his worst trait. Once his mount dies (in a cutscene that actually made me feel bad about it) the fight REALLY begins, and after figuring out the dragon, having a whole second boss is intimidating, let alone learning his hyper-aggressive moveset. The fact every shot basically halves your health, and how small the openings to heal start put you into a panic as your Estus steadily vanishes, with him hitting you mid-chug and you realizing you've barely TOUCHED the bastard. Add to that his combos tend to be one more hit than you're expecting, and his timing for spear-stabs is weird. Actually, he tends to spear twice in a row, just at a rate that tricks you into thinking he's winding down and it's safe to move in or heal. What won the day for me, is either at some point something "clicked," or he went into a second phase that was FAR more manageable than his first. Roll into him and attack when safe, watch the stamina, hug him close and strafe counterclockwise and he'll miss a bunch too. Yeah, his second "phase" on foot really fucks him, because he starts doing aoe lightning slams and "erupting ground" moves that are either really easily dodged or do jack of shit with your lightning defense up, and he hangs around immobile forever, so naturally you just punish the SHIT out of him for leaving his ass in the air. Fuck, towards the end he even has a huge (scripted?) stagger. Keep it up, and bam, Nameless is DOWN. That's a RUSH to realize you're close, and then really pull it off, with maybe one or two estus left in the tank. That's some Fume Knight shit, even if I honestly though Raime was harder, and took WAY longer to figure him out. Any fight you walk away from feeling chills and adrenaline... DAMN. So yeah, almost TOO merciful towards the end, but it's a good damn fight, and if you can make it that far, I'm guessing From thought you [I]deserved [/I]a break... Not much to say about Wyvern because... well... headshot. Yeah.

Meat cleaver is a really dumb weapon.

I snagged the whirligig saw right after Vicar Amelia. It is now probably my favorite weapon of any game. Every boss that gave me trouble in the past has become laughably easy. Darkbeast Paarl went down on my second attempt, as soon as I obtained and upgraded it. Undead Giant evolved from oneshot machine to lunching bag. "Now the real hunt begins..."

I wish we had the original xanthous set in the game. That was my go to in DS1 and 2.

Watching SBFP Dark Souls makes me realize how badass Sieglinde of Catarina is. She's not undead like her father; one fatal move and she's dead and gone forever, while her father can die many, many times. She can't make use of the warping abilities of the bonfires, and she can only use miracles to help her as Estus presumably has no effect on her. Aside from all this, she spends the rest of the game finding her father in the worst places Lordran has to offer that even the average undead will struggle to overcome and comes out unharmed. She, under some odd circumstances, [I]finds a way to get from the Archives to Firelink Shrine![/I] Sieglinde has more brass than her father, and all she wants to do is find him and deliver the final words of her mother. Sieglinde needs more praise.
