I wish FS would buff the fuck out of the greatlance and make the damage at least closer to the astora greatsword The lunge WA attack is probably one of the more powerful WA's out there too because you can pretty much punch through a mob enemies shield and stagger them into oblivion, and if you use it in PVP correctly it's also pretty great
Wonder why Fromsoft hasn't fixed action queuing being paused when getting staggered. It's gets really annoying when you mess up a roll and then have no control when your character then automatically panic-rolls into your enemy's next attack.
It's because they don't want you to mash the dodge button.

You see the enemy actually doing a stance before charging. A stance with R2 would be the charge, the R1 would be something else, maybe a the sword stance r2 which is a long thrust. Also i wish there were more lance variety
I want a weapon similar to the valorheart with a lance and shield. Make it play like monster hunter lance or something.
Is killing Ludwig for the very first time on my fifth attempt at blood level 75 or so with no cooperation considered an achievement? I have a sneaking suspicion that I am underleveled for this stuff. I had a smooth time sailing until arriving at Nightmare of Mensis and progressing to the mental ward area of the Hunter's Nightmare shortly after Ludwig. Both areas have turned into death gauntlets where I perish more from local mobs and hunters than the actual bosses.
It's because they don't want you to mash the dodge button.
I dunno, the fact that rolls cost maybe about two stamina and have no cost penalty for consecutively doing it I think it's something they encourage.

They could have given it a kick with a punch followup or, even better, give it something like Milwood Axe's Warcry, where it shoulder charges into a Warcry buff that gives you access to some of Champ's moveset.
So... Is there any point to trying to use the Dark Hand grab in PvP these days? Even with Hyperarmour the weapon art grab attack seems basically impossible to land unless you opponent is incredibly stupid. It's just so damn slow! And the tracking on it is godaweful. I can reliably get people with Sacred Flame pretty often, and that does just as much, if not more damage. Why the hell did they make the Dark Hand's grab so garbage? I think in the 50+ fights I've done in the last two days using it, trying my ass off to get it to be viable somehow, I've gotten maybe 5 grabs, total. I feel live I've tried everything, now: Knockdowns, high poise, Perseverance... Nothing gives me enough time to actually land the grab with any sort of reliability. Is there some secret to it or is this weapon just not worth using?
It's because they don't want you to mash the dodge button.
Isn't that what roll-catching is for anyways?
Update regarding what I mean by the Dark Hand grab being useless, here's a clip where I knock a guy down twice using two different methods (Astora GS Weapon Art and the Force miracle) and then almost immediately go for a grab, only for it to fail both times, and ends up getting me killed: [vid]https://my.mixtape.moe/pkkikc.mp4[/vid] What the hell is the point of this Weapon Art? It doesn't work on NPCs, it doesn't work on 90% of the game's enemies. It's only real purpose is against players but getting it to actually connect is virtually impossible!

Example a small elevation result in failing no matter how close you are. Dark Hand is nothing more than a beefed up int\faith fist. At least it still looks cool for a Darkwraith cosplay and it's insane at low level.
I just learned how levelling works in Bloodborne with blood echoes. Do you just farm and farm and farm blood echoes all day if you're stuck on an area and need to be stronger?

As long as you don't lose a ridiculous amount of souls while making your way through the game and continue to level as you go, you should be fine.

The only way any of the grabs will work ever, is if you and your friends can pin the guy in a corner and spam it. I know this because It's the only way I've ever done it. I'm sure the invaded needed a crisis councilor afterwards.
What if all grab attacks (dark hand/sacred flame) ignore i-frame
Sacred Flame ignores shields and has pretty big hitbox. Dark hand WA has arrow hitbox and can be blocked.
I dunno, the fact that rolls cost maybe about two stamina and have no cost penalty for consecutively doing it I think it's something they encourage.
They also designed bosses and some enemies to chase you down if you start mashing the button. Yes they allow you to dodge a lot, but they want you to think about how many times you want to dodge and encourage you to press the button once per dodge. Buffered inputs are there to to punish players who get overzealous.
Update regarding what I mean by the Dark Hand grab being useless
You are able to also do a quick roll out of the getting-up animation, which is what that guy seems to be doing to evade the dark hand.
It always feels like the first time when I play Bloodborne. You can take that as you will.
I actually prefer my later playthroughs over my first. My first was very frustrating but the rest were so much better as I was much better at the game and started to notice more things about how the level design and enemy placements tell the story. Also I got to keep my weapons and experience bosses with new weapons and playstyles. Although I will say that the nightmare frontier was a huge shock my first time through. It was insane that I was getting constantly invaded by other players
I don't think I'm going to finish the dlc. I've just lost interest in dark souls. It might be because of bloodborne and I ds3 feels all "same-y" to me. I just don't have the drive to finish it.
