You can hit his tail when he's teleporting.
Aldrich was the second boss I got stuck on. He just spammed those giant magic blasts and his homing arrows on me and being a dex-melee focused character just made it stupidly hard. The Black Blade being the shortest katana didn't help me at all either. [Sp]I'm ashamed to say that Vordt was the first one I got stuck on.[/sp]
Champion Gundyr still pisses the living fuck out of me.
Champion Gundyr still pisses the living fuck out of me.
Rolling attacks, all day, every day. Was the only way to consistently get a shot in with relative safety. Windup, swing, roll into him, come out the other side, hit. Works great since his combos are constant, but not terribly fast. You'll only get hung-up by his kick, which almost seems to ignore iframes. Damn is it a good fight though. And I guess if parrying is your thing, he's got enormous openings for that. Pretty much any of his major swing attacks can be parried, and if you just wait for those, since even in phase two he keeps all his old moves and doesn't replace them, you can nail him damn fast if you know what you're doing. I mean, look at this motherfucker
[sp]Ledo's Great Hammer[/sp] is as amazing as I thought it would be. I have tenderized my way through three invasion phantoms + the host, followed by a six duel win streak. The satisfaction of pulverizing yellow phantoms one by one, making the host run back to summon more help, and have them die at my feet ten minutes later regardless is indescribable.
I feel like clap is more appropriate.
I always bow. It's respectful and tends to leave a good impression even if you're defeated. No sense being a dick about it.
I personally just don't do anything. It's not like we can really get a reaction since it's rare to get hatemail.
If you didn't always just use Pumped Up, Mock, and This One's Me exclusively even when you were alone you have no right to breath the same air as the rest of the human race. [editline]1st May 2017[/editline] Honorary mention to No Way for somehow being so smug and snide for being a default gesture.
Have Mercy is fun to use if you want to be a snarky little shit.
Wow, so... is soul spear SUPPOSED to be inferior to GHSA in almost every respect? I mean, even if it only did just more damage than it, but was quick to cast like in DS1, the extra FP use might be justified. The extra cost is to have the same punch at a snap, so it's not as easily abused. But Soul Spear, I swear, is markedly SLOWER to cast. Seriously, what's the point here? What am I missing? [editline]1st May 2017[/editline] Huh... So after your third Lord, regardless if you've killed the old lady at the Dancer arena, you get spoken to by the old... dead... lady, and then warped back to the Dancer arena... for no reason. This... is something From Software is usually pretty good about NOT doing. Oh wait... I might get it... They're afraid players will get stuck and won't know how to progress... That's kind of weak though. There ought to have been more apparent funnels of progression. DS1 gave you a general idea for the bells and made you wander, then gave you a hint about Sen's Fortress once you did it in the form of a cutscene. Then you were stuck in Anor Londo until you beat O&S and got the Lordvessel. And Frampt being around Firelink the whole time is too prominent not to make a player curious, thus setting them up for the endgame goals after interacting with him. I feel like a sweeping shot of something happening at the entrance to the Dancer's arena would have been neater than this. This feels clunky, this feels like you've outsmarted the game, it's immersion-breaking. Especially for something that speedrunners and whoever else will exploit, because beating the Dancer early means instant access to high-level weapons upgrades and fucking TONS of souls to trivialize the main game with.
Champion Gundyr still pisses the living fuck out of me.
Really? I've always found him to be a challenging but fair and fun fight, definitely one of my favourite ones. Also cosplaying as him is fun [t]https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/806552247105089818/40A2B3876D45D96EC3628192955E9AAB0CB7A971/[/t]
Looking back on the Artorias DLC, I had more trouble with Kalameet and Artorias than Manus. Kalameet was tough because I couldn't really telegraph some of his attacks very well, and getting caught in his flame breath was certain death even if I was blocking with a Black Knight shield. I didn't really have trouble with his Calamity Grab, but there was one time that he missed me while doing the move, but I started attacking him and got sucked into it mid-animation, which was pretty funny. Though it wouldn't have been if the calamity effect lasted until death. Artorias was probably the most challenging boss in the game though, but not that he was bullshit, but because he was the ultimate counter to everything you were used to when fighting a Dark Souls boss. His attacks were delayed, making you have to dodge early or late in order to make up for the discrepancies, he was absolutely unrelenting, giving you little chance to heal up, and that triple sword spin was absolutely devastating. What a great boss.

Does anyone have any feedback on the recently released Dark Souls' Item Randomizer mod? It sounds like a great way to experience the game all over again with a nice twist to it

If you've searched the area properly then there's no reason for you to stay there. You'd just end up traveling back to Firelink and then Vordt's bonfire and it saves time for the player in terms of natural progression. I hated that I would ring the second bell in Qualog's Domain and then have to spend the next 10-15 minutes marching my happy ass back to Andre. Also it was purposely designed so that you could kill the Dancer early. Dancer is one of the hardest bosses in the game and fighting her underleveled isn't exactly easy. If you go through the effort of killing her for the late game weapons then you deserve them. You have to purposely go out of your way to do this. You could easily do this shit in other Dark Souls games too. *cough* Pinwheel *cough* They purposely gave the option for people willing to spend the time and effort to do so, it isn't like the game is just handing you free weapons and souls by attempting this. It's no less legitimate than playing through normally.

It was glorious chaos. He'd loot a Drake Sword right at the start of the game, only to then get Havel's Chest armour and a Demon's Great Hammer which he'd have to use and it's fuck him over super hard. They're all on YouTube, I recommend watching them.
does it affect enemy drops or just world items?
Champion Gundyr is a good fight for the most part, he really keeps you on your toes and you have to be careful when you heal or he's just going to jump you the second you start to chug. His shoulder bash at the end of combos is really annoying though, I've only successfully rolled out of it once or twice in a fight.
Speaking about mods, today a new aggression mod was released by the author of Ziggy's mod for Far Cry 3. It only affects hostile enemies and gives them Gravelord phantoms stats boost: http://www.nexusmods.com/darksouls/mods/1265/
didnt he have to reset like 4-5 times though because he literally couldnt do anything with what he got? doesnt seem that much fun to me. slow-walking with a crossbow with next to no bolts comes to mind, or maybe thats just me mixing up two different attempts.
No that happened. The resets didn't ruin the fun for me. It just made it funnier. Probably wouldn't like it in a casual playthrough alone but for streaming or something? It sounds great.
Having to watch someone reset their game 4 times is great?
Having to watch someone reset their game 4 times is great?
Nothing's funnier than watching people react to something you enjoy its also funny when somebody's suffering like that :v:
WE ANIME NOW BOYS [editline]2nd May 2017[/editline] developed by https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shift_(company) http://www.code-vein.com/ screenshots mostly on here
agh geez i hop whatever other gameplay trailers they have make it a little more appealing as much as i love "apocalypse in brown/black urban city" it's not my favorite theme.
Combat looks pretty awful, attacks lack any sort of impact from what I've seen. Not too interested.
I don't mind the anime theme but the protag's mask is pretty stupid [editline]2nd May 2017[/editline] 3edgy5me
Can't say I'm too interested in it. I want kickass knights in cool armor with neat swords and shit.
But there is the blue colored bloodborne style lightning in [sp]Gael's third phase[/sp]

I noticed that, if I recall correctly, that's the only time we've ever seen "blue" lightning effects in a Dark-Souls game, right? Every other time, including Soul of Cinder's "Storm-call" attack have the bright yellow electricity. And[sp]Gael's fight[/sp]takes place in the distant future of Dark-Souls, right? I think that's what's implied, anyway, given the stat that[sp]Gael[/sp]and the world are both in, as well as the whole[sp]Filianore's rapid aging from young woman to dessicated corpse.[/sp]... Odd that we'd only get the blue lightning right at the end like that...
The reasoning is actually incredibly simple - it's real lightning, from the sky. Lightning is blue. The lightning you are used to in Souls is *light*ning, a harnessing of the power of sunlight, which is yellow. Gwyn was the God of Sunlight after all.
Can't say I'm too interested in it. I want kickass knights in cool armor with neat swords and shit.
Not to mention the clashing artstyle. The world itself looks 'real', while the characters looked like something out of an anime.
