oh hey, I remember that
Should've done some sick spinning and killed them all afterwards.
that would be an epic way to get banned from future fp fightclubs
There's tasteful hatemail, like when someone invites you to a group "Get Shrekt" after you got killed by a guy looking like Shrek. Just something small to get a chuckle.
Steam comments are just boring.
One of my funniest experiences with garnered salt was when I got invaded in the swamp and after killing him he sent me an invite to some "Git Gud Scrub - Cowards Hunt in Packs"-group.
And yes indeed I did have my friend summoned, but his character was sleeping in the corner while he was talking with his girlfriend the whole time :v:

No price yet, but there are plans for release in May.
According to a new blog post, those are releasing sometime today, and there's more. There's a Solaire, Siegmeyer, Artorias, and a lil Sif wielding a sword.
Prepare to buy.

Ornstein and Artorias are already sold out.

No it wouldn't :v:
Finished Ringed City last night. Besides a few sticking points, great DLC, definitely one of the best in Souls. Was surprised with how easy some of the bosses were. [sp]I died the most on Demon Prince, got Midir after two tries, and one shot spear of the church and Gael. I had heard Midir was hard, but once you notice that he dips his head after almost literally every attack its not too bad.[/sp] Probably helps that I'm playing with 60 faith too thought :v:
I did some Church of the Spear summoning but only got picked up twice in about 45 minutes. Is it dead or was I on at a bad time?
"When the boss one hit from dying and so are you."

I've never resonated with an image more in my life.

Eyes are too small, dunno what Bloodborne allows though, but I think that's actually the limit without creating a monstrosity so it's probably fine.
Jaw line is way too far down, bring the back end of the jaw up much more
Are you able to bring the neck in a bit more? I know Alice Madness is stylized cartoony so maybe not.
The nose looks too pinched at the bridge and along the outermost edge, might also need to point the tip down more.
Skeleton Micheal Jackson face look is gone though, so that's progress.
Woooo! And down goes Gael!
Really surprised to find out he's weak to poison. Frost too, but not a lot you can do with that.
Actually, why is Frost even a thing? Only a few weapons have it, one spell can cause it, and there's no gem or resins to apply it to your weapon...
But yeah, seriously his first phase is his hardest in my opinion because of how aggressive he is. Then he starts bleeding, and phase two he gives you almost unlimited ranged openings if he WEREN'T slowly dying of poison. Again, loved his crossbow move, but just be sure you're strafing left or right and you're fine.
His melee attacks hit hard, but are few and far between, and HEAVILY telegraphed with short combos.
Then phase three is much the same, a bit more aggressive, but with lightning strikes and all kinds of shit everywhere! What freaking ATMOSPHERE, I LOVED it!
Then he died with an almost literal "thud."
Again, probably a lot harder for a melee build... noticing a pattern here.
... I didn't actually save the Alice appearence I made
Maybe the Universe is sending odd ... signals to me.
Okay. Screw that Hunter/gatling gun team up in old Yharnam.
Okay. Screw that Hunter/gatling gun team up in old Yharnam.
The hunter on the ground is completely optional and guards no loot. In fact, he won't even chase you out of his little arena. I just kill him for fun
When he backwalks up the ramp he won't do anything, if you can get behind him he can't even retaliate and you can just wail on him for an easy kill :v:
As tanky as some of the NPC hunters get, they all have some sort of bug in their AI you can exploit to the fullest degree and cheese them.
Okay. Screw that Hunter/gatling gun team up in old Yharnam.
Climb that tower, shoot four times before he reacts. congrats free gear.
Good... fuck... in heaven...
Dark Eater Midir is simultaneously one of the most impressive bosses of the game... as well as one of the most ENTIRELY unfair.
It's clear that if DS3 finally had its Oolacile, then Midir was meant to be its Kalameet. There were even certain attacks that very much REMINDED me of Kalameet.
But the difference? My last play through of DS1, I memorized his full expansive moveset so well I managed to crush him on my first try. He was VERY difficult, and if you didn't play smart, he could easily kill you FAST. But if you knew how to approach him, it was just a test of endurance. How long can you keep up with him before you choke, and he manages to land that sweet coup-de-grace that puts you right back at the start?
I... don't get that with Midir. Midir just feels needlessly cheap.
Half his attacks seem like they ignore shields entirely. Vast majority of the time I copped a hit, I had my shield up and the game didn't seem to care. Didn't even break my guard, just smashed me.
Then there's the fact that hitting him with any weapon that isn't a really long Dex weapon or some kind of UGS is next to impossible. His hitbox is so weird and his moves so aggressive and erratic that you can slash all the fuck around him and only slice thin air.
Okay, so... magic? Well no... and no to a LOT of other stuff too, because he's resistant to about everything but Lightning. I crafted a lightning weapon just for this fight and put on the clutch ring, but it didn't matter whatsoever because getting in ANY hits, even after learning to go for his tail, was such a shaky prospect that I was consistently dying without shaving off an eighth of his colossal health bar.
Yes, because what this boss needed was to utterly discourage the use of phantoms as well as ensure added difficulty of the most transparently artificial kind.
Seriously, apart from the guard-ignoring attacks (I swear, if anyone snobs at me about why I guard instead of "just rolling" I'll shove a lightning bolt up their ass) half his melee stuff is also obscured by him spraying fire as he charges, and in the chaos all you can do is roll as well towards his ass as possible.
THEN, there's the flying fire-sweep that only misses you if you're INTENSELY lucky to be on the outside of it. Then there's his nearly guaranteed one-shot, the exploding laser tantrum that opens by tracking straight for you. No chance to evade. You get hit by the laser, you're getting hit by the explosion, and unless you're jamming tears of denial HARD, that's it.
Even trying the cheezy pestilent mercury strategy I only barely got halfway through him. So I say without the slightest bit of guilt that I cheezed him with mercury, AND two other phantoms. Even slightly taking the heat off was no guarantee, and it exploded his health pool in the process, so fuck it. But we won, our third guy getting vaporized two-thirds into the fight.
I dunno, maybe I'd have tried something different if I was all Faith and played full-on lightning mage, but as a Pyromancer even with all the buff rings and upgraded talisman I was doing less damage with a quick lightning spear than I could with a single swing of an infused sword.
I've heard of people fucking respeccing just to fight Midir, and that just sounds like bad design. Unless you have some completely non-viable build, a boss shouldn't be able to totally thwart it like that. It's why it was usually a good bet to keep dark pyromancy equipped in case it was way more effective on certain enemies. I was forced to "anything goes" tactics because I don't have the stats to wield the bigger weapons that might have some effect by their reach/damage, and my individual faith stat is too low to do meaningful damage that way.
How are your posts so consistently long
And here I thought I went on too long about things I don't like. Not that there's anything wrong about going into detail about something.
Seriously, apart from the guard-ignoring attacks (I swear, if anyone snobs at me about why I guard instead of "just rolling" I'll shove a lightning bolt up their ass)
He is actually not that hard to dodge. Try to stay in front of him, then his attacks will be more predicable. When he does the forward charge with fire breath and many slashes, dodge through the first fire sweep and get behind him, then wait for him to finish his tantrum. I found that he was most unpredictable when I tried to stay underneath him (this tactic also caused many one-shot tail whip deaths), but staying in front of him he has a lot of easily dodged attacks that leave openings.
If his attacks ignore shields, it seems a bit silly to preemptively get offended by people potentially telling you to dodge instead...
THEN, there's the flying fire-sweep that only misses you if you're INTENSELY lucky to be on the outside of it.
Run left, he won't hit you.
Then there's his nearly guaranteed one-shot, the exploding laser tantrum that opens by tracking straight for you. No chance to evade. You get hit by the laser, you're getting hit by the explosion, and unless you're jamming tears of denial HARD, that's it.
Dodge the first laser to the side, then you can run straight for his head and get a couple of hits in.
Midir was definitely one of the hardest bosses, but I found it perfectly possible to learn and consistently dodge most of his attacks. My only problem with him was that he has so much health it becomes an endurance challenge. Watch this video for some more strategies against individual attacks.

I still get the feeling that you've completely forgotten what game you're playing, it's exactly the same situation as you describe with DS1:
But the difference? My last play through of DS1, I memorized his full expansive moveset so well I managed to crush him on my first try. The difference is not that Midir is cheap, the difference is that you haven't memorized his full expansive moveset.
