Dark Souls + Demon's Souls + Bloodborne Megathread XIII. The Ringed City

My first time I killed everyone in Firelink Shrine because I could.
You guys think we'll hear anything out of E3? I know "souls is over" but I'm gonna need something to fill the void from soft left behind.

Maybe a teaser for one of their next projects? You can bet that Code Vein is gonna be there though.

Probably a trailer for a new Armoured Core. We'll probably see the sci-fi souls-like Miyazaki wanted in a year or two, if they're not doing other shit first.

Code vein Hella ugly tho.
Maybe DS popularity will get people into Armored Core. It feels like the only people who got into AC are people who just came across it at gamestop and bought it because it had a huge robot on the cover so their parents bought it for them because it looked appropriate and then they got hooked into the series from there.
Fucked around for about 5 minutes and settled on this. Would this work for you Elia?

There's not a whole lot you can do about the jawline. It'll always look way too wide.
I remember first time I played Dark Souls 1 (pre-GFWL patch anyway)I was really pissed off because I tried killing Crestfallen Warrior and he kept parrying me and I didn't understand how to beat him. I also thought that the graveyard was the way to go, and I was pissed because these skellies were fucking me over and I did crap damage to them even when I could shatter them around the place.
Then I came back years later and found out that the correct way to go was pretty much behind you in Firelink Shrine, and now here I am beaten DS1 ,DS3, Bloodborne, and planning on getting Demon's Souls soon.
If Bloodborne 2 is coming out I'm buying 7 PS4

Yurt's Gloom Set was the shit, I played the entire game with that on. Of all the cut nostalgic/referenced equipment we saw, I really wanted that and the Dark Silver Set to be unearthed in some mysterious trans-dimensional collapsatron incident.

So happy I'm able to like the game now, I was afraid I'd never get around to it again.

I'm in the exact opposite situation. I've been replaying Bloodborne for probably the 8th time and I just stopped because it's not any fun.
I don't get the feeling of accomplishment after struggling with a difficult encounter anymore. When I do win the fight I'm more relieved that it's done with and I turn the game off in a bad mood.
I think it's because I'm not doing something that's productive to begin with and I'm just making myself angry.
Hopefully I'm just in a funk and it goes away eventually. Otherwise I probably won't buy the next soulsborne-ish game. Which is super depressing.

found why it isn't fun anymore.
give it some time and play different titles, souls is very much the kind of game that you cant just non-stop binge, because this happens.

I remember making like many new characters after finishing Dark Souls just to try different items. Of course going in the same area many times made me starting to rush areas and miss items. Most of them where just for co-op only in different areas of the game.
If you want to replay a lot, then it's advisable doing with friends. I'm so burnt out on souls games, i played so much ds2 and i was sure to never touch it but having friends always manages to add that fun boost in your playthroughs.
Or have some self imposed challenges if you're fan of that.
You know I realised something that's bothered me about DSIII's magic since the very begining... When NPCs and enemies use magic, they get cool, high damage spells that can track you around corners for what feels like miles. But when we cast the same spells they take five million years, hardly deal anything unless you pour ludicrous amounts of stats into int or faith and have barely any tracking or range.
Not to mention that there are at least 3 enemies that cast unique pyromancy using sorcery catalysts.
The Deacons of the Deep, Fire Witches and Corvian Storytellers all cast pyromancy, but it acts like sorcery: the Deacons especially with their goddamn fire missiles that follow you to the ends of the earth. And what I wouldn't give to get that badass fire pillar attack that the Fire Witches use.
Then there's the one that annoys me the most: the Gnaw spells. The first time I ever saw this spell I had no damn clue what it was. It followed me around three corners and up a flight of stairs. When I finally got access to the spell, I was so hyped to use it... Only to discover it was a slow firing, slow moving, useless thing that doesn't track worth shit. And while the cast speed buffs have upgraded it from "totally useless" to "mostly useless", it still has some of the worst goddamn tracking of any spell.
Then there's the shit that just doesn't make sense for magic. Like, why is the Izolith Staff, the catalyst of a flame sorcerer, the best staff for dark magic!? Meanwhile, there are four other catalysts that scale with faith, but outside of the Murky "slightly worse than Izolith Staff" Longstaff, they're all universally aweful for the already lacklustre dark sorcery! The Archdeacon Longstaff, which is used by the designers of the goddamn Deep Soul spell, is worse for dark spells than most other staffs. The Golden Ritual Spear is just all-around garbage at everything and the Crystal Chime, which would have been perfect for hexes, has a deliberate dark damage penalty, alongside White Hair Talisman. The reasoning apparently being "Fuck you and your dark magic, go make an UGS build like everybody else!"
I still love DSIII to bits, but god damn. Every time I think of how badly they screwed over magic users, I get sad, and salty.
Sorry for the rant (again) but I've been playing with builds again and it always underlines how bad most spells and catalysts are.
It's not the only thing they fucked up. The whole PvP system is lackluster compared to DS2's.
Honestly, for every good thing they did in DS3, it feels like they also did a bad thing.

Last I played was over 6 months ago. I'm not playing the thing on the daily dude.
Recently I learned shooting the drake on the High Wall of Lothric in the arse rather than the head is quite a bit easier and does the same damage as a headshot. Every so often it'll burn anything behind it, but just standing in the doorway of the tower w/ the bonfire puts you safely out of harm's way.
Odd that no wiki I saw mentioned that tactic.

Overall i just haven't liked DS3 all that much. It's got a lot of fantastic qualities, but i just haven't enjoyed it as much as i have any of the other games and i've found i can't play it very long anymore before i just get bored and move on. It doesn't help that, again, PvP is lackluster and that's usually what i do the most after i get my co-op fix.

My friend, I really appreciate the effort. I really do.
Would you be so kind as to send me the values to recreate her via PM or something?
Again, thanks a lot. I'm delivered and saved.

I was hoping to get a taste of actual online play by getting DS3 for the PC, but for whatever reason the game freaks the fuck out when I try to play with my PS4 controller , despite it working absolutely fine for DS1. It's incredibly disappointing because it makes the game absolutely unplayable.

You're using ds4windows or something similar right with exclusive mode?
You're using ds4windows or something similar right with exclusive mode?
I was using inputmapper with exclusive mode, now I'm trying something called SCPToolkit. Unfortunately, both don't really work much for DS3; the controls are either horribly delayed, unresponsive, or get "stuck" (IE if I wall a certain direction I'll get stuck moving in that direction, unable to change). Ironically, both of these work perfectly fine with DS1 no problem
[editline]22nd May 2017[/editline]
also read forcing Vsync off helps, tried that too (it didn't help)
I would just stick with DS4Windows, never had an issue with it aside from the first month or so of Win10.

Moving to Win10 was such a fucking mistake. Ever since the Creators update it deleted all my color profile settings for Photoshop, constantly fucks up my custom gamma settings, and corrupted GeForce Experience.

You know... I actually miss Solaire. There's been a lot of great characters in both DS2 and DS3, especially Anri, but nothing compares to Solaire. He's just so joyful, innocent almost, and is a nice break from the otherwise bleak world.
A truer bro was never given to us.
