That's basically what DS3 does, just without worrying about the exact amount of souls spent. It takes the only things that matter in pvp, soul level and weapon level, and matches you with people in the same range.
Soul Memory is something that could work in a different game, but as a Dark Souls mechanic it just discourages you from grinding if you want help. When I first played Dark Souls 2 I grinded the Dragonslayer in Heide's Tower in coop so I could inch myself up a bit for the next areas. After 3 or 4 time I couldn't summon anyone to help me fight either Dragonslayer because I had too much Soul Memory, which screwed me over really hard because I wasn't good enough at the game to do well enough on my own and I didn't get any significant levels to have justified it. I didn't even know it was a mechanic until after that. The way Dark Souls 3 works is probably the best way
can you leave a covenant without having your rank reset? I wanna complete leonhard's quest for his armour but it involves joining rosaria's fingers and I'm like 26 sunlight medals deep in sunbois
You won't lose rank.

thanks gang!
I mean realistically, Patches has essentially lived for hundreds of years with no explanation. It doesn't make sense but we accept it anyways. If anything it could be a "past" moment of Solaire before he entrances in Dark Souls 1. A kind of "I need to find my sun before I forget myself again." kind of backstory.
I imagined Patches [sp]after the Lapp storyline[/sp] was as old as Gywn and the other Lords. Would he still need the First Flame to be linked in order to keep going? Granted the Soul of Cinder implies we've been doing this non-stop, but I don't think the purging stones would work if the Flame dies. Imagine being so old you predate the conception of time and you spent all these years being a total asshole to people and mocking clerics. If Gywn is Zeus, does that make Patches Até, or Gywn/Odin, and Patches/Loki?
Patches is beyond our mortal concepts.
Why did nobody tell me how sweet the tonitrus is? This thing does ridiculous damage. I just hope it doesn't lose its usefulness halfway through the game.
Why did nobody tell me how sweet the tonitrus is? This thing does ridiculous damage. The only downside is the durability when you re apply the lightning buff and of course the skeleton thunder dog. Go nuts with that weapon.
Oh no, Tonitrus is extremely fun. The only downside is the durability when you re apply the lightning buff and of course the skeleton thunder dog.
That's effectively the same as SL + shopping fees, though, isn't it?
ANY and ALL souls gained from ANY source count. Which means your SL will be terribly inflated if you play the game normally, leaving you grossly underleveled. Imagine dying with a ton of souls on you. It's already shitty as it is, but with SM involved it's twice as punishing, a punishment that's p much permanent It also kills builds based on consumables and resonant spells
I dunno, I melted the lightning dog with Tonitrus just fine. Using it on an arcane build was crazy fun with the Holy Moonlight Sword.
I really never bothered because it felt so obvious, using unbuffed would work well but it's not Tonitrus if you don't reapply the buff.
Regarding Bloodborne, anyone else having massive issues dealing with that one undead giant with chains on it's back?
Regarding Bloodborne, anyone else having massive issues dealing with that one undead giant with chains on it's back?
I really struggled with him first time. I find the best tactic is to dodge through his attack and get behind him, from there he can only hit you with a telegraphed spin attack that is easy to avoid if you see it coming. I did this over and over, getting in a couple hits from behind every dodge, it took a bit of effort but it was pretty much the only way to kill him. he's also weak to fire so get some fire paper if you need an extra edge on him.
Why is stream sniping the most fun thing you can do in this game?
Stream sniping in any game is the most fun you can have.
Looks more annoying than fun but alright.
Looks more annoying than fun but alright.
I'd say it depends. If you're just going in to kill a dude who you're watching, that's boring. If you're going in with the idea to entertain it can be a good time.
Am I the only one who doesn't find it funny when it's just cheat engine spam? I was kind of expecting something else.
It hasn't impressed me much since majority of times i'm going to see people with the typical "large head guy that spams a lot of stuff just to break my fps". Probably got too used finding people that try to play as bosses and get some cool attacks while not being overpowered.
I started playing Dark Souls for the first time a few days ago and I've reached the Depths. This place is... unsettling. [editline]26th May 2017[/editline] Well that boss was horrifying.
AAAAAND THAT is why you should back up your saves after you make progress. [sp]#PCGamingMasterRace[/sp]
Nothing in the video will screw up your save. The worst thing that remains after the encounter is broken weapons/equipment. AFAIK, the only thing that can fuck your save is picking up things you shouldn't be able to pick up from somebody (like gestures, 99 titanite slabs, etc.)
Are there really only two bosses in Ashes of Arianna? A really disappointing DLC overall.
Are there really only two bosses in Ashes of Arianna? A really disappointing DLC overall.
YEAH DUDE BUT THE LORE!!!111!
Are there really only two bosses in Ashes of Arianna? A really disappointing DLC overall.
Think of it less as a singular DLC and more the "Hunter's Nightmare" section of Old Hunters, with Ringed City being the "rest of the DLC" part. Hell, Old Hunters was originally going to be two separate DLCs (pt 1 was Hunter's Nightmare and Research Hall, pt2 was Fishing Hamlet, iirc) but they wisely combined them into one. Honestly, they probably should have done the same for DS3's DLC, because Ashes of Ariendel is a great area in its own right but it really wasn't enough to hold down an entire expansion. On a separate note: What is the logic behind people in the Undead Arena who run away when they start losing? (Or, in some cases, literally just don't engage in a fight at all!?) Like... It's not as though you lose anything for dying in the arena, it's an enclosed space with no risk of losing souls or hollowing or anything, the only purpose is to fight. And yet, even when I ran a build that literally consisted of me not moving at all I encountered these weirdos who wouldn't even come close to me. One of them even ran to the other side of the map and started trying to huck firebombs at me... Despite the fact I was sitting next to a warmth spell. What is the point of going into the undead arena for PvP if your tactic is to just avoid the fight? Are these people trying to waste everybody's time!? I mean, make no mistake. I'm far from the best at PvP, most of my best builds have been as simple as they get and I often die to really easy-to-avoid tactics. And yet I face people who run away from me all the time, like... ??? Why are you even in the arena if you don't want to fight!?
Are there really only two bosses in Ashes of Arianna? A really disappointing DLC overall.
Am I the only person who doesn't play these games just for the bosses? The lack of bosses is the only complaint I see for Ashes of Ariandal but everyone who makes that complaint says the DLC is disappointing because of it.
