Game Dev Tycoon - It's like Game Dev Story, but for Windows, Mac, and Linux
So if you buy it now, you get a Steamkey when it gets released on Steam?
You do
Piracy can be bad or good. A game like this will benefit from piracy in most cases as it's a horribly niche title with little market share and it's literally free advertising. Nobody knew about this game unless you pretty much read this thread or somehow stumbled upon it on a piracy website. With the advertising on the escapist magazine on top now it should actually sell more even if it does get pirated. It's making the best of a situation, it's free publicity.
This will most likely be on their blog. God.

It sold lots of millions
Guess who went bankrupt literally a week before his biggest blockbuster ever was about to be released.
Here's a blog post from the dev about pirating the game.

Yes, if you can't continue the game from piracy, you pirated the game itself. Perhaps you should consider buying it considering it's only 8 damn dollars.

Fastest Cars gave me so much money, the 67 Hype Score sure payed off
I liked the demo.
Graphics was to plain, the game just feels so bland. O prefer game dev story tbh.

it's probably because i played game dev story first, a long time ago, but yeah it's the same for me. gdt feels kind of... lifeless, compared to gds.
Well yeah, there's no interesting art direction with this game to be sure.
The visuals look like something you'd see in a business presentation or infographic.
The menus themselves are also very devoid of life.
I'm guessing I'm the only one who likes the visuals then?
Holy fuck, people get rock hard for 'gameling' games.

Most I got before that was one 9 and the rest 8's and 7's.
It's made it to Kotaku now. Guess which FP'er's post is in this article too.

I will milk this for all it's worth
Thoughts on names for the next ones?
I'm sorry but isn't all of the actual gamedesign that is not art pretty much copied from GamedevStory?

This game is like Game Dev Story in name and concept. The actual process of hiring people, training them, and making the games are different than Game Dev Story, and much more in depth as well.

You don't have to rely on a crapshoot of your staff or the 10 million outside designer to fuck up the graphics. In that respect it's much much much better.
You also don't get "80%" chance of improving something at most, all research is done before the game and much more realistic, not to mention engine design.
It's similar yes, but that's not really surprising. when you get down to it game dev story's game design was insanely poor and obnoxious where as this one is much better IMO.
I'm guessing I'm the only one who likes the visuals then?
I like them and they're well made, but I do still wish they weren't so "corporate" feeling.
I have to admit, it's still a refreshing getaway from ~super retro 8-bit~

DRAGON IMPERSONATOR if it fits

I swear to god, if you need cash just make a Racing Simulation game and focus on the following sliders
Stage 1: Engine & Gameplay
Stage 2: A.I.
Stage 3: World, Graphics & Sound
Is it possible to make multi-platform games later on?
I really need to learn to save.
Demo was fun. But I'll wait till it gets greenlit on Steam

Bitch, please, some games make excellent RPG's and my team is highly skilled
Fantasy/Detective/spy/Steam Punk games
Adventure/(+ RPG type for fantasy and Steam Punk, if you can, because they synergize well)
focus on Story, Dialogues, Level, World, Graphics and Sound.
Consistently getting 8-10 ratings all the time, everywhere, no matter how many sequels I shit out a year.
