Tell me your secrets.

Well, for starters, i am using this little cheat-sheet.
Action: Engine, Gameplay, A.I., Graphics, Sound.
Adventure: Story/Quests, Dialogues, Level Design, World Design, Graphics, Sound.
RPG: Gameplay, Story/Quests, Dialogue, Level Design, and World Design.
Strategy: Engine, Gameplay, A.I., World Design, Graphics, Sound.
Simulation: Engine, Gameplay, Level Design, A.I., World Design, Graphics, Sound.
Casual: Gameplay, Level Design, Graphics, Sound
These are the things you should look though really carefully when making a game with any of these genres. For Action, you gotta focus for above-mentioned to get best scores possible.
Second, when it comes to topics, use common sense, or this list:
Airplane / Casual
Airplane / Simulation
Aliens / Action
Alternate History / RPG
Business / Simulation

And third. When you get to pick what features the game should have, look very closely. They are categorized in the same way of the exact sliders of which you are about to position too. But lets take an example.
On PC, we make a simcity'ish game, City/simulation. This focuses primarily on engine and gameplay, amongst others. But look at features:

Even though jamming as many features into a game sounds tempting, apparently, cutscenes doesn't have much to do with a simulation-genre game! I CAN'T ACTUALLY CONFIRM IS THIS IS FOR REAL OR ANYTHING, BUT THIS THEORY HAVE WORKED FOR ME AT LEAST SO FAR. So get rid of all the features to the corresponding slider that which you don't need alot of!
I have no idea if this is any good, but give it a shot and let me know!

Can't help but feel like they're biased somehow.

oh
ok, so ive researched selling my engine, but how do i actually do it?
I believe it does it automatically. You'll earn money every month or so.
Oh god damn it. There's a thread on reddit and everybody is saying that it's an exact copy of GDS.
Fuck them.
would you happen to know why hardware wont show up in R&D by the way? or will I need to hack it in?
I think you have to do something to unlock the option to unlock it in R&D first, though I can't remember what.
Ive researched everything, and ive got 1m fans + 200m + final office1 so I dont know what i could be missing

Some special staff specialization or something something?
Oh, right, I believe you need a tech specialist.
Christ, after a point it feels almost impossible to make a game that sells well without a publisher to me.
I think I might be pussyfooting around a bit too much with the cost of marketing.
My biggest problem with this game is research points. There's not enough to go around to research things in a timely manner. Also, is the windows 7 version the same as the windows 8 one, or does the 7 have more to it?
They're the same.
Just finished the demo and my most successful game was called, "Pimp Simulator". It had text-based graphics, it was a city simulator, it was for the Gameboy type thing, and it was for Young Children. I got 100k+ for it.

By the 3rd office you can get loads by doing all the contract work every 6 months.
