DayZ is fun again! Sure some of the loot spawns are broken. There's a building which step spawns high cap vests and even smersh vests as well as guns. I got a fully kitted AK74 within about 15 minutes with plenty of ammo.
It's broken but it's fun. My only gripe is the crippling desync. Myself and my friends kept getting the same issue where we would lose control of our character for about 30-40 seconds and then when we got control back, all the commands we sent (including mouse movement) while out of control would then play out, like someone else is controlling your character. It also meant I couldn't shoot players for shit. I absolutely peppered my friend with AK74 rounds and nothing happened. Same thing happened when the two of them were lost, stumbled into eachother and both let rip on eachother. No damage.
This eventually lead to me being killed by another player despite shooting first at about 5ft away. Even at point blank, I had to shoot a guy in the head about 5 times before a shot registered. On that topic, guy said he wasn't looking for trouble and didn't have guns. Glad I killed him because on inspection it seems his backpack was covering one of those weird new "Rakk" guns and he also had 2 magnums stuffed in his jacket and pants.
The funniest thing was though that while my friend were trying to meet up with me, one passed out from dehydration and the only thing they had was gasoline. It eventually woke him up but he kept vomiting. He eventually died due to "mishandling of LandMine activation system."
He was dehydrated by the time he found us again and was passing out. Luckily we had cantines and saline. My friend who survived kept giving him bottles of water and canteens but it wasn't long until he was vomiting every five minutes and passing out. We had no clue that the whole time, he'd been filling the canteens and bottles with the left over gasoline. Over the whole period, he had fed my other friend about 80% a whole jerry can. When we found out, we were all crammed in a house with the poisoned friend passed out, I gave him saline and promptly legged it out the building knowing that he was probably about to just open fire blindly with his MP5 while he came back round.
I got across the street, turned round and watched as the whole house lit up with gunfire. He got his revenge.
It was one of the funnest times I've had in DayZ.

Like Wicker said, they are not in that development stage yet, but idk what you are talking about, both me and my friends have gotten a big FPS boost.

Yeah my FPS is on average 15 better than it used to be.
God I love DayZ, I just wish it didn't suck so much

They have tried and accomplished that, I get higher FPS than I used to.
It's not priority at all right now. Why don't you read the splash message? You know, that one that opens up every time you start the game?

AS a note, I used to max out at 40fps, now I max out at 100. Towns I still get an intermittent FPS but never drops lower than 30. That's better than the 10-15fps I used to get in towns.

If it can't work properly on my PC, which can run any current game on highest settings with constant 60 fps, It will never fucking work on an xbox. Unless the xbox version doesn't have that horrid arma 2 engine.
I think you all are forgetting that we playing an alpha version on PC, they will never ever release a alpha version on consoles... From what I understand so will the game hit consoles when and if it ever hits 1.0 and full release.

Yeah DayZ was only brought up in their section about Xbox Preview or whatever it is. I think Elite: Dangerous is out on it this month.

Do we have the ability to drag/fireman's lift players who have leg damage or are unconscious yet? it feels like something we should have the option for by now.
Not as far as I'm aware. The way they're talking about a console port makes me think they're going to get out these vehicles and last few fixes and call it quits. I wouldn't count on this game going much further. I mentioned development cycles previously and I get the feeling they're preparing to enter the final stage, which sucks.

It wouldn't be the first time a project like this did that (Go from alpha to release suddenly) I know it sounds dumb but the way they've been talking recently and the announcement of a console port worries me. I hope they're not going into the final stages because the game is thin in gameplay and content but the way they've been presenting themselves makes it seem like they're going to drop 2 or 3 biggish updates and run. I could just be paranoid though, overreacting to the console port news.

Projects jumping from alpha to release are actually pretty unheard of. There's usually an obligation for the developer of an early access game to carry the game through alpha, beta then release. It's fair enough to call that DayZ might never be finished, but to assume that it's currently coming to a close is a little unfair.
I've taken the console port news as I've taken any other announcement since Dean left - a smart, informed decision made by someone in the development team competent with the gaming industry, unlike Dean.
sounds to me like a window of opportunity more than anything for the xb1 ea thing.
