How long do you reckon it'll take to come to the main branch?

No one knows. Anywhere from a week to a month, depends on how fast they will be able to do bug fixes and all.
Judging from the bugs I'm seeing, there's still loads of work to be done. Way more then a month I think.
I'm seeing everything from hard locks caused by the renderer, the UI having trouble at different resolutions, and certain buildings having occlusion issues.
Wondering this aswell. Is it actually playable? Is it decent? Any big new features? Should I bother downloading yet?

hm, can't seem to find my "last played" part, instead i see hours and date of purchase. i know if i install it, it will say "last played today". anyway to check this kind of thing without reinstalling?
Once the patch is applied to the more mainstream servers anyone here fancy grouping it up?

1p only please
Don't bother until its out of experimental or until they open up more servers. Right now it takes like about 20min-1h to get in to a server if you're lucky.
Oh man just like the original mod at the beginning stages.
I would gladly teamup if find time how evade Arma ;)
New patch is great, feels like a totally different game. Reported a few bugs, got an M4 then died.
Anyone wanna try to team up on experimental? I'm just past Balota.
Y'know, there's one that has bothered me in DayZ since the release...
Bleeding, why is it that a bleed without a bandage is basically a death sentence.
I just found myself running around a town for half an hour looking for a knife, an axe, a sickle; anything to cut a T-shirt into rags.
[sp]I never did find anything to cut the shirts into bandages, I bled out in the street[/sp]
Surely if I was bleeding heavily and desperate, I should be able to just straight-up use the shirt as a bandage without cutting it to rags.
You can, last time I remembered you just had to right click and select tear

I don't know exactly how long, but for some time now, you've had to use an edged item, a knife or something, to cut shirts into rags.

anything thicker than t-shirts i can understand, it's a bit of a nuisance to do it but it can be done, but i've torn t-shirts before with my bare hands. someone ought to bring this up to the devs.

Update?

They've always been pretty good in DayZ. For a long time, the MP-133 was one of my favorite weapons, until the Winchester came out.
I think it's more that low framerate makes urban CQC damn near impossible since everyone's getting 20 fps in any urban area. I used to get 15-25 FPS in elektro depending on where I looked, now I get 40-50.
It's a really, really big improvement.

Nah, running around in a leather jacket with sawed-off IZH-43 is the best way to play.

I really like how they made the leather jacket able to stuff a sawed-off inside it, and that it's the only non-military clothing item that does this.

Just a shame that most clothing is irreparably ruined after maybe a few zombie punches.
Also full-length IZH-43 is surprisingly accurate on medium distances. In most games a double-barrel shotgun tears a new one up close but is useless even on medium distances while in DayZ it's still viable up to 100m.

I'll give most games bonus points if they make shotgun pellets vanish after something like 20 meters.
is joining experimental servers easier now that 30 more servers have been set up?

Right now, at peak time? Somewhat, but the servers are still a little bit of a pain to get into.
Also, thanks to DayZ, I've finally realized that being a slav is not so bad after all. While western players are looking at the road signs and they're like "What the fuck are those slavic runes?" I'm good with just a quick glance at the sign to realize where am I.

Amerislav here, it's also fun giving wrong directions.
Welp, I tried out 0.60 exp after stopping DayZ for a while. The performance difference between 0.60 and 0.59 is drastic to say the least - it really does almost feel like a different game.

To be fair, eventually you learn what the russianglyphs mean.

Well yeah, but still I can read silly stuff like billboards around the map and labels on items for additional shits and giggles.
It always takes me a week to complete SP games, probably doesn't help that I work really late but I tend to pace myself a lot :v:
Anyone down for some MP tomorrow?
