Where are the performance fixes holy fuck. I couldn't care less about zombie ai if it kills me in-between frames. A computer that can play metro 2033 and the new order maxed out is brought to its knees by this shit.
It would be more fun with slow moving zombies. Like seeing hundreds in the city slowly moving around.
[QUOTE=snijboer;47276754]They have just started implenting the new zombie A.I. And more zombies!

RIP gunplay
[QUOTE=Pops;47276539]except it is
h1z1 has had competent zombie ai and vehicles since day 1. dayz still has joke zombies and vehicles are a dime a dozen in the glitch department. i also don't see glitches of people constantly taking out weapons, nor do zombies magically get up after clearly being killed, i don't hear random zombie sounds despite there not being a zombie within sight, h1z1 is actually optimized and runs smooth as opposed to dayz which i'm lucky if the game decides to start up.
and best of all, [b]h1z1 doesn't have nonsense features being added into it when shit like zombie ai and making a fun game are more important.[/b][/QUOTE]
main problem i find with h1z1 is that it lacks integrity with its business model, and i don't find that games using those business models maintain quality longterm. dayz may be a broken mess but it being the only game of its type not using that godawful business model means itll always be in my heart

Yea, especially when you go to one of the big cities and no matter what settings you have you get stuck with 10-20 frames. It kills the gameplay when you struggle to hit zombies or even other players. At least optimize some of the shit so you can get decent frames for now.

Im excited for this but its gonna be a bitch with how the game is right now.

I can't help but see H1Z1 as something way more arcade and casual than DayZ.
Comparing H1Z1 to DayZ is sorta like comparing Call of duty black ops 2 to ARMA 3
H1Z1 isn't fun to me and for all the shit that War Z got, I'd much rather play that.
edit: both those games have a similar feel to me.
except h1z1 isn't being developed by the guy who's responsible for big rigs

Good for him, but that doesn't really matter.
I really do like DayZ's hard core aspect. It's incredibly immersive. I just wish instead of giving us new items they optimized it. They don't need to do finishing optimizations just make it so shit actually LOD's. One thing i've noticed is that EVERYTHING is loaded into an area. All the details in the building, whether it's 10m or 500m from me, are there and loaded...

its not like they lied to you. It says on the steam page its in alpha. It says on the forums not to buy it.

um, what? dayz for me has super aggressive LOD's in the sense that I can't even see through windows of a house or even if the door is open from like 200-300 meters, because the lod has swapped the house for a 6 polygon box.

Dayz will be the better game in the long run because the its intention is pure. I dont mean this as some highfalutin statement about art, I mean the team knows what the game is, and is sticking to that vision rigidly. For all the faults of BI employees, and the dumb decisions, thats something to be respected because its a rare commodity in gaming today.
H1Z1s popularity will quickly wane, because they compromise. They want the dayz crowd, but they also want the casual crowd who get bored if there isnt something to shoot every 2 minutes. It is a compromise that dollars to donuts will infect every game design decision and produce a mediocre final product that will be entertaining enough but never reach the kinds of fervor that dayz had behind it. A basic bitch.
The zombie genre is completely oversatured, and yet, despite being borne out of a buggy ass mod on a buggy ass game that is an autism level military simulator that makes people pull their hair out and takes 3 hours just to get into it and then being turned into an even buggier commercial game that runs like complete garbage, Dayz remains at the top of that pile.
There's a reason for that.

I think 10 years is enough time for said person to improve said person's skills in the art of programming.
Seriously, you can't hold a grudge on a guy who was responsible for a 10 year old game.

you know I would be inclined to agree with you but goosemans animation skill still sucks after 16 years :v:
Whelp, I finally found my first V3S and what I did was[sp]driving around major cities while playing WHERE DA HOOD WHERE DA HOOD WHERE DA HOOD AT in 30-player server.[/sp]
I love Day Z in a few ways but there is so much wrong with it. For one the movement is terrible, tank controls come to mind. The optimization is pretty lacking, I feel non of the updates add something revolutionary to it. Vehicles can't be that hard if the Bohemia engine already contains it all from Arma. On my own the game sucks but with a friend it's great and if we run into some crazy situations and people. They need to speed all of the development up.
dayz's map chern+ runs at least twice as well in the arma 3 engine lmao

I'm generally pretty pissed how DayZ isn't on A3's engine. It's so much better in every way.
I guess it's to late now really? Plus it's taken this long just to get what we have we now. I feel like Day Z may never be completed.
bohemia is laughably incompetent

Uhhhh that stuff is all free.
you have to buy the weapons to use them unless you own the supporter edition or own the DLC bundle or buy it when it comes out
unless im mistaken
[editline]13th March 2015[/editline]
thats what their latest opreps/sitreps say
[editline]13th March 2015[/editline]
if the 7 weapons were free there would be no content to sell in the marksmen DLC?
[editline]13th March 2015[/editline]
yea dude those weapons must be purchased to even pick them up and shoot them in a match, everything else with the DLC is free though (because the DLC is half patch, and half "support bohemia by buying these digital guns!!")

dayz's engine has different requirements than a3/real virtuality, which while it hasn't really been obvious yet they have been changing/replacing systems used in the RV engine to better suit what dayz requires.
I would say that when they introduce the new dx11 renderer the performance of dayz should improve.

I combined sticks in the fire and it accidentally into my inventory.
I was hypothermic until my friend found me and made another fire.
please fix your aspect ratio x_x
everything else looks worse.
use 16:10, that's your aspect ratio.

How about making it not super stiff and awkward, like the A3 engine.
