Please tell me I'm not the only one that thinks husks and fleshpounds look pretty much the fucking same from afar in KF1. I had times where I shot a fleshpound thinking it was gonna throw a fireball at me only for him to come full berserker and murder me on the spot.

I'm sure a few other characters say "shit" as well like Classic Briar and Masterson. Also I think Donovan says "Die you cocksucker" as one of his lines.

Don't forget about 'damn it, invisible bitch again' which is also used funnily when Patty cloaks, well all Stalker related quotes are also used for Patty.

The whole "This is a Christian game!" meme reminds me of how the DOOM movie wound up with no demons because it would offend the religious sensibilities of someone or other involved. What's the story behind it anyway?.

Iirc the prez of twi is now a dedicated Christian or something which explains the amount of Christian bands and lack of some mature elements like mutilated non-zed corpses or the lack of f-bombs. Also blamed for the game's shift in art direction from the original's nitty gritty dirty to the now clean, modern and sleek.

Pretty much what DieselSquiggles said. After Red Orchestra 2 he went "Hey, I don’t want to just call myself a Christian. I want to live it.". There's an old interview with him where he pretty much states his religion started guiding most of his decisions here.

It's kinda nutty to be so concerned about explicit language when the characters of your games are literally blowing each other into bloody meat chunks.

Not only that, but it's kinda contradictory. Like you're allowed to blow up zeds with explosives, saw them in half and shoot their heads off, but cursing in my Christian game? No, we can't have that.

Ain't RS2 just published by TWI though? I'd imagine they have a lot less sway that way which would explain the human gore and delicious fried rice and napalm.

People had similar complaints with the language in RS2. Claimed it felt too "Toned down" compared to RS1 and RO2. http://i.imgur.com/JBkKKIM.jpg It's debatable how much of an effect it had. They re-used the RS1 Japanese screaming for napalm/flamethrower vs VC. They might have recorded new ones for US/Aussies. I hear US shouting shit, etc. all the time (No idea about the VC as I don't speak Vietnamese. They have a few hilarious English ones like "SCREW YOU GI! I WILL KILL YOU GI!") Supposedly there's a few lines like "DIE YOU FUCKING SHIT!" or "I hate those damn gooks!" but I've never heard them. Aussie's have a few like "Buncha bloody Drongos!" "Go stick a punji up your ass" "WANKERS!" "You're the asshole of the world, Charlie" etc. In terms of gore, RS2 actually DOES feel noticeably lacking compared to KF2. It still is pretty bloody at times. I'm not expecting or wanting battlefields turned red like KF2, but stuff like shotgun blasts asploding heads is almost comical, there's hardly any particles so it's as if their head just vanishes.

What the fuck, they had an echoing TTS narrator in place of proper voice clips at one point? It just sounds like that Jimmy Neutron Happy Family meme. Regarding the whole Christian thing, it's not really as bad as it could've been but for some reason is just strikes me as a "shoving stuff down people's throats without blatantly pissing them off" kinda thing. Like, why is the creative process in a video game affected by religion at all, unless it directly ties into the game's themes? It reminds me of why there are no guns in Subnautica, which is just as stupid a reason with an equally acceptable end result.

Sounds more like the generic TTS you see in those GoAnimate videos rather than in Jimmy Neutron Happy Family Happy Hour.

This is so fucking weird lmao. Killing floor is about as unoffensive to religious sensibilities as an ultra violent video game could be. You run around a decimated Britain fighting cloned monsters who are evil by design, playing as a bunch of blue collar cockneys who seem utterly un-phased by the Apocalypse. Why even bother toning it down?. Why remove swearing and leave in visceral mutilation and dismemberment? what the fuck is going on!? Fuck this shit better not be why zeds don't talk any more. I fucking loved how the zeds talked in KF1, it made the cybernetic variants feel more like programmed weapons of war, and all of the fleshier variants downright disturbing.

KF1's fleshpound still freaks me out because of its voice alone (god the scream), plus the fact that if you pissed one off, you couldn't out run it.

Sadly it's likely almost entirely why the Zeds don't talk much anymore. Can't make the monsters seem TOO human, otherwise you're offending the good christian values. Yeah.

I still hear them talk. It's hard to hear what they're saying but I can definitely hear "I'M FAT" "NEEDS MORE SALT" from bloats. Hans and Patty talk alot, (LETS TRY GAS!) (YOUR DEAD FRIENDS WANT YOU TO JOIN THEM!) and Abomination talks a bit, too. I think zeds actually "Talk" more during the events like the Christmas zeds.

tbh I never really heard the zeds talk save for Patriarch, sirens and stalkers. I wouldn't be surprised if you just can't hear them because there's a shitton more noise going on like fleshpounds pounding the floor when raging or the wooshing sounds of crawlers, slashers and stalkers doing their fighting game combos or the siren's everything clattering around
