Hey, awesome to see this thread back. My Feddie Engineer hit 60 with that free booster, and my KDF Sci Officer is currently rep grinding and working up to 60 herself, really loving the Vo'Quv, have a tank/heal loadout that's fairing pretty well.
After she hits 60, probably gonna make a Tactical character, just to round out my roster, but I'm not a huge fan of the Romulan ships from a glance, do they preform well in certain roles over others? I run a silly Escort loadout on my Fed Engineer, so I don't want to do Federation Tactical, and my KDF character is so new I don't want to grind another one out right now.
So do any of you guys use naming conventions for your ships? For Starfleet I us Greek, Roman, and Norse names, for the Klingons I use monster and demon names, and for Romulans I use Egyptian names.
My Vo'Quv is the I.X.S. Deze'Nuthz because I'm a child, but other than that, most of my names are just whatever (my Fed Star Cruiser tank loadout is the USS Brick for example)

Thing is with Romulan characters is they don't get much love in the ship department.
Season 11 October 27th

I really wish Klingon and Romulan ships had the customization love of the feds :disappoint:
Bit of a bump after two weeks, but after the 2.5x XP week, I now have 4 characters ranging from levels 51-60, as opposed to one level 60 and a level 45. Anyone up to maybe get a steam or skype group together for queues/battlezones/etc?
Also caved and bought myself a Fleet Kar'Fi, it's gorgeous, and with a very WIP build, I easily parse 15-18k on ISA, and my average is only going up as I'm upgrading gear.
Just a heads up, to celebrate the announcement of a new Trek series, the Enterprise Era bundle is free under Discount Packs in the C-Store, and we're getting another 2x XP week
Just wanted to bump this to say 11.5 is out on the 12th: http://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/9875443-star-trek-online%3A-season-11.5-coming-april-12th%21

Awesome, my favorite Star Trek era! Might have to start playing again when it releases.
I wish there were free T6 ships. I'm still running the Breen Dreadnought

You're in luck. Next month is the Risian Summer event, you do a 5 min daily for 25 days and get a T6 ship.

Wooo. I hate those daily things
Wooo. I hate those daily things
It's 5 minutes flying through a guided jetpack race, so its not that bad.
yeah, just hold M1+M2 and turn.

Yeah, but its that I have to do it 25 days straight
Agents of Yesterday is out July 6th.

Also crossovers with the new movies, the Kelvin Timeline. Also Featured Episode Replay is Thursday.
It would be cool to see something like the USS Kelvin
So the ToS expansion is out today. I'm thinking of going with the USS Galatea again.
Is the game worth playing? I bought the game when it first came out but I haven't touched it since. I enjoyed the game but the space combat was a bit shallow from what I remember and playing as your character in the tab-target combat mode was clunky and boring.
Has the game improved much in the last 6 years since it came out?
It's completely been overhauled for the better. I'd say give it a try and see if it hooks you again.
Managed to snag a pack that gives you a ToS Enterprise, some ToS uniforms, and a T6 Battlecruiser
EDIT: The JJPRise has excellent customization options

Kind of disappointed by this update. Unless I'm missing something, it seems like there's only 4 or so TOS era missions, and a bunch of ships behind a pay wall. I mean, I wasn't expecting a whole games worth of content or anything, but it would've been nice if we could've at least got a couple more free ships, like a early constitution (with the nacelle spikes) or something.

I think the temporal cold war should be the least of the federations worries:

Seems like the animation bugs have some how gotten even worse since I last played 3 years ago. :v:
Honestly most of those bugs weren't present in the Tribble testing, so I have no fucking clue what happened. Even worse sometimes in the final two episodes (which weren't on the test server) the friendly AI will completely bork out
so you get stuck fighting a fleet of ships all by yourself
They introduced a complete animation overhaul in the final phases of testing. It did a lot of good internally.
Externally, it was a clusterfuck.
Makes me wonder if it's something they'll actually fix, or be one of those things that ends up broken forever like the shuffling away team when you walk.

They've being fixing stuff internally. They usually do a big expansion fix up patch a few weeks after launch.
