Grand Theft Auto Series Megathread V11 - SERIOUS RP ONLY
There was an article, I think it was even on newswire where a CEO or some higher up mentioned that once they were done with GTAO they would take a "break" from it or something like that.
I'm pretty sure they just stated that they need to rest certain franchises and just meant that they won't be supporting GTAO forever.
It would be stupid from a business perspective to ship GTA6 without an online component after seeing how much money they were able to make with V's online anyways.
Is there any working "transfer logo to other t-shirt\ change t shirt color" glitches left? cause i swear if i have to hear atleast one more of those fucking intros on youtube for answer...
Apart from everyones face looking mostly the same, clothing options aren't too bad.
While the clothing options are significantly better than face options (and why the fuck are there NO body options - even 5 or 6 distinct but reasonable body types for each gender would have been nice), they still leave a lot to be desired.
Even though it's a totally different genre, Dragon's Dogma is a great example of a limited character customization system still allowing for a wide range of diversity. GTAO's slider between dorky hipster to ugly hipster is just unforgivable.
The game's obsession with "hipster" stuff gets old very quick. It's like a manager or lead had an obsession with hipsters and just thought everyone loved them or jokes about them. More than likely, from what I've read on Glassdoor, no one told him to shut up about it out of fear for their job.
Bought the Steam controller, how is it for GTAV?
It has potential to be really great for it, but there's just to many options that interfere with others. I have mine set to enable the gyro when I aim which is great and in my opinion the only way to really get as close to using a mouse. You can aim in the general area of where you want it to be with the trackpad and then also use the gyro at the same time to fine-tune your aim. I actually think this works nice and after a little bit of practice you will start to actually get a feeling of aiming with the trackpad and gyro's at the same time. The problem is that there's just so many commands for the controller. My current lay-out works well for 80% of the gameplay but for example, it starts recording when I touch the trackpad and then press the run button. Walking and looking around at the same time also messes up the view if I try to use the gyro's because it will try to reset itself somehow but it conflicts when you are looking around useing the gyro's too.
Bottom line, like with most games, the steam controller can work great with GTA V, but because it has so many inputs, you will need to spend a lot of time to perfect it, which I haven't been able too(Haven't really tried it too be honest though)
Try to figure it out, it's really good when you've set it up correctly(and using gyro's to aim is a very fun way to play the game and other shooters alike)

I love a lot of the music on Mirror Park, but god damn listening to "hey guys, hipsters am i right? lmao" shit gets old really fucking fast.
I think that the whole "Hipsters are annoying" became annoying on itself. Creating a paradox where it wasn't really funny to begin with.
What i more hate in the available player clothing is that it never has every color you need
Most clothing items could have many more colors, but they only fill in a few, either that or exclude colors
Why is there no Purples for most things, it's the only reason i ahve to walk around with Fuschia

You think lack of purple stuff is bad? We still don't have a simple red t-shirt.
You think lack of purple stuff is bad? We still don't have a simple red t-shirt.
I'm pretty sure I've a red t-shirt in GTAO that isn't the crew coloured one.
[editline]yup[/editline]

I do believe that says red t-shirt. Nothing else on it either. I'll admit it's not the same red as the FAPS crew one, but it's red.
I don't know if I regret playing multiplayer my friends because it's effectively a follow my lead simulator.
They brought me on the very last heist (couldn't complete it yesterday everyone died a lot) and I had to take orders on the run because they would skip cutscenes or talk about shit I couldn't care about so I didn't know what was happening. And they would be doing strats that didn't involve following the checkpoints/objectives so I couldn't just follow them.
Keep in mind that I'm brand spanking new to the game. None of my stats are leveled and my guns are pretty weak. The game was set on hard aswell.

Fucking this.
I didn't have the same problem but one of my friends was playing through all the heists. Two other friends were helping him and I joined along.
I was happy to do the heists normally, and so was he but the other two kept forcing us to do some uber l33t super duper ultra strats.
I mean it got the heists done faster but it was his first time playing the fucking things and I could tell that he just wanted to do them normally.

Join the FP discord if you're looking to make some money, there's some people doing heists and events.

Won't that be the same thing though? For me, It's not about the money, it's about the experience.
Don't know what you guys are talking about, this is the best Open World BMX game I've seen.
So GTAIV just got an update out of nowhere:
Added error code "WTV270" to indicate a problem with connecting to Windows Live Sign in Assistant / Games for Windows Live Servers.
Added Windows 8, 8.1, and 10 to compatible OS check.
Added Display Controller image in Controller Configuration.
Fixed a bug which made completing "Out of Commission" mission impossible when frame rate exceeds 60fps.
Fixed a bug with the "Resource Usage" indicator on graphics cards with more than 2GB of VRAM.
Fixed a bug that restricted settings changes when using modern video cards.
Fixed a bug with the map crosshair on certain resolutions.
Fixed a bug with text scrolling in "Brief" Menu.
Fixed "drawlist overflow" crash.
Minor performance optimizations.

Don't know what you guys are talking about, this is the best Open World BMX game I've seen.
yeah but you can't even do mad tricks, not even basic shit like tailwhips or barspins
bmx stunt update when

I swear to god if this breaks 7 years worth of mods...
I swear to god if this breaks 7 years worth of mods...
I think it broke xliveless at least, as I can't use my save anymore.
[editline]a[/editline]
Actually nvm, I think xliveless still disables gfwl, its just that mods wont load for me anymore.

I think the run and record issue is just a general controller issue. I have the same issue randomly when I'm tapping to sprint
I swear to god if this breaks 7 years worth of mods...
'GTA IV is disabled because of presence of mods' :^)
For me, It's not about the money, it's about the experience.
that's where the events-part comes in
I'm pretty sure code injectors (which most GTAIV mods use, right?) are going to be broken, so you guys are gonna have to wait on updates to those utility mods like ASI loader and Script Hook.
I swear to god if this breaks 7 years worth of mods...
My first thought. If they broke all those mods and didn't even remove GFWL I see no reason to bother.
Why have games forgotten that color sliders used to exist
Just implement one and it'll cut down on a lot
yeah i am greateful for a discussion on color but that did not answer my initial question guys :v:

Probably due to scripthook.
Is it normal when attempting to join a public heist invite, or with the quick-job feature to be ejected from the lobby on account of the host leaving?
Because I swear, out of like 10 tries attempting to join a public heist from invites and quick job searches, 3 of those will actually be successful and allow me to play in that heist. The other 7 attempts end up with me ejected from the lobby, and the game tells me the fucking host has left the session, and it drops me back into freeroam to try again.
It's getting to the point where I'm wondering if I'm actually being kicked, or the lobby is already full and the game kicks me out from it. I'm just having a hard time believing all these hosts are leaving when the lobby is visually full of willing players.
Quick Job has just been pretty fucked in general. I think one of the previous updates broke it. You just have to get lucky.
Double GTA$ and RP pretty much make the game a much better experience.
- More time = More money
- More players = More money
- Losing gives decent payout, winning gives an amazing payout.
Basically, the longer the mode is, the more players you have, the more cash everyone gets. Losers get a decent payout, but they leave knowing that if they win, they will earn a fuckton of cash. So they keep coming to try to win for more cash. Effectively, making them play better and keep the game mode alive at the same time.
If only the game was like this all time, GTAO would be better.
