Grand Theft Auto Series Megathread V11 - SERIOUS RP ONLY

I got kicked from like 10 different races today. Is that a thing now? Kicking people who have good win/loss ratios?
Also came across this lovely character

that reminds me, what does the faction mean for someone's name? Is that the win loss ratio?

You mean the "Pro Racer"?
Their character's driving skill.

No, the fraction.

oh my god i said faction, my apologies
From what I know its their ratio of wins to losses, its for dumb betting.
it's actually really sad when you look at the supercars in GTA and you're like "there are just so many of the same fucking supercars, I want more" and you realise that's pretty much all the supercars that exist.
Naw theres still plenty more, especially if you dip into older cars. But super cars bore the crap outta me. I dont want more super cars i want more regular everyday cars that can be tuned and upgraded and some body mods maybe. I really
really
really
wanna see the the hakumai back:

Its a nice regular looking car that also is old enough to be different looking with pop up headlamps.
Also i wanna see cars like the marbelle:

hell even the willard:

Also why is the esperanto not an available car to buy yet despite existing in the game?
This game's balance is so out of whack when it comes to aerial vehicles, especially when combined with "Off the Radar".
Like k I just got one shotted by a jet because the designers think that HE rounds aren't op. The fuck am I supposed to do as someone who is level 40?
why cant you buy the normal blista
thats all i want
and i cant have it
Because that would make sense and it's something people want.
No, the fraction.

pretty sure that's the betting odds
no idea what the numbers actually mean or how the game determines that though
the w/l ratio is usually shown under the driver's name like the Pro Racer thing, and it just plainly says "Won X Lost Y"
Okay, so. I'm really tempted to get this game. It looks like it's a lot of fun and you can pull off some absolutely batshit insane feats like get into a shootout with the police, steal a sports car and then break into a military base to steal a jet to escape with. Plus being able to do this all in first person will make an extremely interesting experience. My question is, how bad are the microtransactions and such? Is it really as bad as I've heard with it basically getting to Facebook/mobile game levels of being unplayable unless you pay for ingame money?

I don't play facebook games but the game LOVES to charge you up the ass for shit to the point where hacking is the #1 way to get cash. I've played a lot of free to play games on pc and mobile and from my experience I have to say that GTA is the worst with trying to get you to purchase microtransactions, especially for a paid game. I mean, it's a good game but jesus everything is expensive.
Really if you're going to play this game, get some friends to help you out with heists AFTER you're familiar with the game's mechanics (played through singleplayer, know how to fly, drive, shoot, swim, ect). Heists will give you quite a bit of cash to start out with, enough to buy a house and maybe a few mid-end dream cars depending on your tastes.
Seriously, friends will give you cash. It's impossible to get rich in this game if you play solo (unless of course, you meet a hacker who likes giving out cash.)
Note that you can make money solo but it requires a lot of patience, and a number of tricks to doing it successfully. If you know how to create solo public sessions, you could in theory do all the CEO/Business work you wanted without fear of being attacked, but you'd really need a massive amount of patience to endure how much of a drag it will become trying to make a profit doing EVERYTHING yourself. Alternatives to making solo public sessions would be to just join a crew that does CEO/MC work peacefully.
Either way, friends will exponentially increase your earning potential if you manage to have them working with you, especially in stuff like MC contracts, businesses, and VIP work for CEO's.
But I find once you know how to make money, you'll be able to keep a good pace even if you're alone, it just happens that playing with friends is always more fun than going it alone.
Well now, I'm pleasantly surprised by the Nero. More than pleasantly surprised, it might be my new favorite super.
I've always been one of the few who actually liked how the Adder felt, but wished it was just... Better, somehow. And the Nero is exactly that.

Not the custom either, I just have the regular one. Even driving that thing down to LSC to upgrade it was a pleasure, it handles so well stock.

Not necessarily. Even when soloing things like ceo missions with cargo and vehicles theres a point where you absolutely need friends. For instance a car theft can go from easy to hard with the introduction of, and this is normal, two constant buzzard helicopters and armoured cars. Even if you stop, get out, shoot them down, hop back in and drive. This, for starters, prolongs mission times to extensive degrees that alone will often render the mission payout moot, favoring grinding low level missions for gash saving the time but requiring more dedication and repetative mind numbing experiences. For seconds, the ai is constant and will keep throwing these enemies at you as they simply will never stop for a bulk of the missions. Thirdly rockstar has built in anticheat methods and with this update alone its a well known intentional bug that when in low popularity sessions (not even solo public session just low server numbers) after a certain time frame cars you are stealing will simply catch fire for no reasons despite no damage and stall causing you to fail.
You CAN solo but it takes considerable patience via grinding low to mid level missions like martin missions or waiting 40 minutes between selling cars for 10 grand a pop.
Ceo/mc peaceful work can be tough to find given how rockstar handles servers as well. Lets say you did the solo sessions move via lag switch or ethernet trick. there is a low chance someone will join a 1 player server due to how rockstar handles servers, as soon as 1 other person joins the chances other players matchmaking to your session exponentially increase. From just 1 person joining making it a 2 player session you can within 5 minutes have a server of 20+ players.
Now let's asssume all was going well and others joined wishing to make money and its peaceful. With the explosive rate of growth chances of hackers joining, griefers, and people who are more interested in pvp does grow as well and it becomes easy for one singular player to create a chain within the city whether it be from being taken down via jet in a peaceful server only wanting revenge and killing them over and over, or just a dm fest starting for no reason at all. Even peaceful factions turning into blood hungry competative kill or be killed groups out of fear of threat.
This is also magnified by the simple fact that rockstar 100% encourages pvp for no explicit reason. The mental system was their combat for this citing 'hey this guys going crazy killing people, kill him for more rp and money' when the mental state goes up for anything from hitting a pedestrian, stealing a car, or causing citizen unrest. Soon the entire server encourages players to kill you. Freeplay events encourage this heavily as well as ceo and biker missions plastering to every player in the session 'this crew has drugs theyre moving KILL THEM WE MARKED THEM ON YOUR MAP TO FOLLOW THEM'.
They hide behid aspects like passive mode, otherwise known as pussy mode. Oh cant take the heat, use passive. You'll be made fun of by most in the server even if you were just practicing driving and not being violent, shoulda made a private session bucko. Passive mode is not a good alternative as it removes what makes gta well...gta. You cant use weapons at all yet cops can still attack you, the cool down aspect of it also still permits abuse having someone go passive, camp a spot waiting for ceos to pick up cars only to give fake intention of peace but suddenly you have a minigun drawn on you fromthe peaceful bloke a block away. Passive mode has become this shameful thing to do to many players because of negative connotations and can lead people to just playing solo sessions alone at times which counteracts the fact this game is multiplayer.
The entire game is forced multiplayer (holy shit its a multiplayer game after all) but it also borderline forces players to kill and greif for no reason with horrid anti greifing measures put into place, easily available cars and devices for destruction, rp and money pay outs, and even the friggen map design.
So yes. you can solo grind but you'll often find it so time consuming that its more worth it to hack, find a hacker (as youre more likely to get banned from accepting hacked money than the hacker themselves using scripts), or biting the bullet and pubbing UNLESS you have a crew of friends at least 4 strong, up to six, to do heists and car sales. If you dont have at least 3 other friends you're shit outta luck. Given its a social multiplayer game too one can wager, hey make some friends. Rockstar as i said earlier has made this game absolutely cutthroat and its kill or be killed by the vast majority of players leaving slim chances to actually meeting people within the game to do this with. This forces either isolation, or seeking exterior sources for friends like reddit groups which even then is only at times slightly and marginally better than outright pubbing.
You need friends and this game can make you feel alone and poor without them and the game wont help you make any bonds but will dangle shark cards at every single chance given.
TLDR pretty much this game is geared to force interaction in very bad ways, otherwise you are left with boring games, heavy bills to pay to have fun, forced solo play, or seeking out often horrid members of the community just to get cash to buy a damn car you want. Solo play is possible but so time consuming and mind numbing it often is not worth it.

This only applies to certain contact missions and heists as far as I know. CEO cargo warehouse, CEO vehicle warehouse, MC business work all seem to have limits to the amount of enemies that can spawn. Stopping to take them out is a very viable solution that doesn't actually require much time as it usually takes 10-20 seconds before the next wave of enemies spawn as chasers. The only way this affects payout in said missions is if you're using explosives for everything which is a bad habit that should be dropped immediately anyways. I think most freemode jobs have a limit of four waves of chasers or so.

I personally haven't encountered this despite port blocking and stealing around 50 cars. From the sounds of it, I imagine it's an issue with Rockstar's method of spawning vehicles and their system that destroys mission vehicles that are considered stuck by the game. I don't think this is intentional behavior and it most likely is not restricted to lobbies with low population.
I can't say I really disagree with a lot of the stuff you said, but I just thought it was necessary to point out those things.
Did a heist with randoms. Never again.
Prison Heist. Did some sort of meta with the armor car. I was the fake prisoner role.
1st attempt: I died because I didn't know what I was doing with this meta.
2nd attempt: Pilot died because the Russian's AI got stuck and wouldn't get in the plane.
3rd attempt: Pilot died because he thought he could ram through police SUVs with a plane.
4th attempt: Pilot stalled his plane, causing a cutscene glitch for the parachuting plane that caused the russian to die.
5th attempt: Pilot left the game.
I actually lost $20,000 from doing that heist. I accidently bought all ammo as prisoner which meant that it bought all the grenades and whatnot, but it stripped them from me.
Seems trainers are in full force again in public sessions.
Friend got banned after a hacker spawned 2 mill on him.
Same with a friend of mine. It sucks.
Boy am i glad the trainer user i joined spawned money while i was in his car so it didn't get added
He flew me around a bit in his car, which is what i miss
i mean, yeah hackers can practically ban players from playing online, but there are much worse things to worry about

Got a friendly neighbourhood Russian trying to hijack my account using my old e-mail, yay. Rate me :boxhide: for not moving my account to my new e-mail :disgust:
[sp]I have his e-mail address now, though he's probably just using a throwaway account or another hacked account anyway.[/sp]
That hackers are back in full force makes it even worse considering a ban is now an acc wipe.
I can't do any Organization missions because the owner ends up disconnecting when they try to start something..

how can someone who didn't hack get banned? makes no sense.
Talking about banned, see you all in 30 days.

I think R* thinks that you are friends with the hacker, or they decided to just ban anyone getting stupid amounts of money randomly
Because of a scorched earth policy.
If you receive "illegitimate funds" you've clearly done something to get them, like hire a person to do it.
how can someone who didn't hack get banned? makes no sense.

There are 3 ways i know of.
1. if a hacker dumps money on you, you may or may not get a ban triggered depending on something noone knows. My friend got 2 mill, insta ban before he could even leave the session. Others have gotten much more, without a ban.
2. there is one unobtainable weapon skin in the game, a hacker can force unlock it for any player, and having it unlock insta-triggers a ban.
3. Hackers can mass-kill people and make the game credit you for said kills, making any reports filed towards you/whole servers thing it's you. I think this has resulted in bans before because rockstar bans people who get reported a lot, if i remember right.
Edit:
It really sucks because it makes it so that playing on public sessions for any reason is a huge risk on PC because any ban will wipe your account now, and you have no idea when a hacker will decide to just dump money on you.

Expanding upon this.
Certain cash objects are blacklisted and can be tracked on their end.
There's a earn cap on the PC of around 100~105k, if you make more than that in one go it flags you with how you earned it, applies heavily to cash dropping as it comes up as "picked up".
If you've previously been flagged by SCADMIN (manual flag), your account is essentially fucked if you get any reports or any of the other systems flag you as their really terrible autoban system sees you as untrusted.

So, essentially.
If you have not been banned before, the chances of being banned while innocent is very low, while if you were banned before it is very high?
